REMOTE CONTROL KEY
KEY BLADE
Used to lock/unlock the glovebox or the driver's door, e.g. if the car is without electrical power.
Locks doors and tailgate and arms the alarm*.
Unlocks the doorsAand tailgate, and disarms the alarm.
Unlocks the tailgate – it does not open.
Approach lighting. Switches on the lamps in the side mirrors*, the direction indicators and parking lamps, at the number plate, passenger compartment and floor.
"Panic" button. Held depressed for approx. 3 seconds in an emergency in order to trigger the alarm.

Automatic relocking takes place if a door/tailgate is
not opened within 2 minutes after unlocking.
COLD START AUTOSTART (2.4i, T5 & D5)
NOTE
After a cold start the idling speed is high irrespective of the outside temperature. A period of raised idling speed is part of Volvo's efficient emissions system.
DIRECTION INDICATORS
– Depress the clutch and/or brake and turn the remote control/ignition dial to the end position III and release it directly – the engine starts automatically.
Diesel engines must always be preheated in key position II before they are started.
ADJUSTING THE STEERING WHEEL
A
Short sequence – 3 flashes.

Continuous flashing sequence.
WARNING
Adjust the steering wheel before setting off – never while driving.
LIGHT SWITCHES
B
Manual headlamp levelling (automatic for Dual Xenon lights*).
Automatic dipped beam. Main beam flash works but not the fixed main beam.
Parking lamps
Dipped beam. Switches off when the engine is switched off. Main beam can be activated.
Active Bi-Xenon lights*, the headlamp pattern follows the movement of the steering wheel.
Display and instrument lighting.
Front fog lamps
Fog lamp (rear, only driver's side).

CONTROL PANEL DRIVER'S DOOR
Main/dipped beam switching and Home safe lighting.
LR
Setting the door mirrors – Select L (left) or R (right), adjust with the lever.
Retracting/extending the door mirrors* – Press L and R simultaneously.

Manual windows.
Automatic windows.
Child safety locks*. Windows and rear doors cannot be opened from the rear seat.
BLIS* – BLIND SPOT INFORMATION SYSTEM
If the BLIS’ indicator lamp illuminates despite there being no vehicle within the blind spot, the cause could be for example, reflection from shiny wet road surface, own shadow on light road surface or low sun in the camera.
In the event of a direct fault in the system the display shows the text BLIS SERVICE
