• Do not switch the device on immediately after it has been exposed to
changes in temperature. Protect the device against damage by leaving
it switched off until it has reached room temperature.
• Use high-quality shielded cables with low capacitance throughout the
system.
• Avoid using excessively long cables. Make sure all plugs and jacks are in
perfect working order to avoid hum, noise and pops that could damage
speakers.
• Route one cable at the time. Pay attention to the labelled audio input
and output jacks.
• Always begin with the volume controls at minimum position. Gradually
turn up the volume after connection is completed.
• Use the controls with restraint. Rapid movements may damage the
speakers due to amplifier clipping.
• Familiarise yourself with the functions of the device before actually
using it.
• All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons. Damage
caused by user modifications to the device is not covered by the
warranty.
• Only use the device for its intended purpose. Using the device in an
unauthorised way will void the warranty.
• Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not
covered by the warranty and the dealer will not accept responsibility for
any ensuing defects or problems.
• Use the original packaging if the device is to be transported.

5. Overview

5. Set the MIC/LINE selectors [6,9] to MIC if a microphone is connected
to the input; otherwise set to LINE.
6. Connect the output connectors [4] to an amplifier (not incl.).
7. Switch the PROMIX08 on [2] first, then switch on the input devices.
8. Use the input volume regulators [11,12] to adjust the volume of the individual inputs [5].
9. Use the output volume regulators [7,9] to adjust the volume of the A and B output channels [4].
8. Switching Off
1. Set all volume regulators [7,10,11,12] to zero.
2. Switch off any input devices (microphone, CD player…) first, then
switch off the PROMIX08.
3. Unplug all inputs and outputs.
4. Unplug the power adapter from the mains. If you are using the
battery, remove it from the device if it will not be used for a long time.
9. Cleaning and maintenance
• All screws should be tightened and free of corrosion.
• Disconnect the device from the power supply or remove the battery
before maintenance activities.
• Wipe the device regularly with a moist, lint-free cloth. Do not use
alcohol or solvents.
• There are no user-serviceable parts.
• Contact your dealer for spare parts if necessary.
