Introduction
The Ultra IR Repeater allows you to use an existing infrared (IR) remote
control to operate up to eight audio/video (A/V) components located behind closed doors or in an entertainment or equipment closet.
What’s Included:
• IR Receiver
• AC Power Adapter
• Central Control Hub
• (4) 2-Device IR Blasters
Installation:
1. Place the IR Repeater box on a flat surface in your entertainment
cabinet or equipment closet (secure with the included adhesive if
necessary).
2. Connect the IR Receiver to the IR Repeater Box.
3. Mount the IR Receiver to the optimal line-of-sight position on your
entertainment furniture. Ensure the “eye” is facing the area where
the remote will be used from.
a) Make sure the receiver is mounted at least 1ft away from your
television (to avoid interference) and no longer than 12ft from the
IR Repeater Box (as this is the length of the IR Receiver cable).
b) Suggested mounting locations include: on a shelf, exposed part
of an entertainment cabinet or behind a speaker grille.
4. Connect the IR Emitter(s) to the IR Repeater Box.
5. Locate the IR “eye” of each A/V component you wish to control.

a) If you can’t easily locate the “eye”, use a flashlight to shine light
through the front panel of the components; the eye is a small red
disc, approximately 1/8’ in diameter.
6. Once located, remove the adhesive tape cover from the emitter’s
clear tape and attach one IR Emitter to the IR “eye” of each A/V
component to be controlled.
a) Note that these are dual emitter cables so that two components
can be controlled by each cable (four cables included).
7. Connect the power supply to the IR Repeater box and then insert
the plug end into any standard 110-240VAC outlet.
8. Verify operation by turning your system components ON using your
existing IR remote controls.
Using the Hidden IR
Instead of aiming at your equipment, point the remote to the IR receiver
and use as you would normally.
The LED light on the IR Receiver will blink when you use your remote
control(s), confirming the system is working properly.

Notes
• Some A/V components, such as high-powered amplifiers and receivers, may
require additional ventilation and will overheat in an enclosed cabinet. Check
the components’ manuals prior to enclosing them fully.
• Keep the IR receiver away from plasma screens and devices that emit too
much low-frequency RF or an excess of ambient light, including direct sunlight,
floodlights, and some halogen or fluorescent lamps as they interfere with the
signals.
• Avoid attaching the IR emitter cables to equipment doors and slots that may
need to be opened or accessed from time to time.
• You can also attach the IR emitters to a shelf within 3” of the components’ IR
eye. This will allow IR control without having to attach the IR emitter to directly
to your components.
• Non-user serviceable parts. Do not attempt to open the power supply or IR
repeater box. Doing so will void your warranty.
• The Hidden IR is not weather-resistant. Do not expose this system to moisture.
