CAUTION! RISK OF EXPLO-
SION! Do not use the jump lead in
an environment in which explosions
may occur or where there are combustible
vapours, gases or dusts.
Danger to life from
electric shock
Before using the jump lead, always check it for
any possible damage. Do not use the jump
lead if you see it is damaged in any way.
CAUTION! Damaged cables represent a risk
to life from electric shock. Contact your service
centre or an electrician if the product is damaged, needs being repaired or has some other
problem with it.
Never open one of the electrical equipment
(cables) or place any objects into them. Such
procedures could put your life at risk from
electric shock.
Q
Safety instructions regarding
the jump lead
The capacity of the starter battery that is
providing the power, e.g. 45 A / h, (car B) must
not be significantly lower than the flat starter
battery (car A).
Only batteries of the same nominal voltage (12 or
24 Volt) may be connected with the jump lead.
The bodies of the vehicles (cars A and B) must
not touch.
FIRE HAZARD! Keep the sources
of ignition (e.g. open fire, lit cigars,
cigarettes or electric sparks) away
from the starter batteries.
CAUTION! RISK OF INJURY! RISK OF
EYE INJURIES! Never bend over the starter
batteries. The electrolyte is also liquid at low
temperatures (whether flat or charged is irrelevant in this case).
The flat starter battery (car A) may not be sep-
arated from its corresponding power supply
network during the starting aid process.
The ignitions of the vehicles must be switched
off before the jump lead cable is connected
and the parking brake put on. With manual
gearboxes, put the gear lever into the neutral
positions, with automatic gearboxes put the
gear selector into “P”.
Place the cables of the jump lead in such a
position that they cannot be caught up in the
moving parts of the engine.

Connection
Note: First check whether the two batteries, donor
battery (car B) and flat battery (car A) have the same
voltage (12 or 24 volt) and the same capacity.
Compare what is printed on the batteries.

Using the jump lead / Care and maintenance / Guarantee and service
Note: The parts should be as far away as possible form the starter battery in order to prevent any
explosive gas that may develop from being ignited.
RISK OF EXPLOSION! On no
account should you connect the
negative pole to the flat battery as
there is a risk that sparks may fly and ignite
explosive gases.
Q
Starting
After you have connected the jump leads, first
switch on the engine of the vehicle with the donor battery (car B). Then start the motor of the
broken-down vehicle (car A).
Note: After every attempt to start the car – which
should not be longer than 15 seconds – wait for at
least 1 minute. If you cannot start the car after several attempts, contact a garage.
After successfully starting the broken-down
vehicle (car A) wait for 2 to 3 minutes until the
engine is running smoothly.
When removing the jump leads, make sure that
they do not come into contact with the moving
parts of the engine.
Note: Do not switch the vehicle that has been
jump started off immediately. Drive the vehicle
around for a while so that the battery is recharged
by the alternator.
Q
Care and maintenance
DANGER TO LIFE FROM
ELECTRIC SHOCK! For reasons of electrical
safety, the jump lead may never be cleaned with
water or other fluids and never be immersed
into water.
After using the jump lead, always store it in the
storage bag it came in to protect the product
from damp and dirt.
Note: The jump lead should always be carried
safely in the vehicle.
J Do not use solvents, petrol etc.
Use a dry fluff-free cloth when you are cleaning.
