to the highest automotive standards utilising the latest technology for total reliability as per
European Community directives.
Please read this manual to get the full benet of the system.
We suggest that you keep this manual in the car. It will be easier for you to nd the information in
the event of emergency. Your authorised retailer will be pleased to clarify any queries you may have
with the system or its operation if you cannot nd the information you need in this manual or in the
chapter ‘Troubleshooting guide’.

Introduction
This alarm system is operated by the original high security remote control described in the car’s
owner’s manual. To programme extra remote controls consult your Toyota authorised retailer. The
alarm system can only be armed and disarmed with the original car remote control. The protection
of your car is assured by interior movement and door/trunk switches.
The alarm system is self-protected against system attacks. During an alarm, the alarm siren, the
vehicle horn, and the blinkers are activated.
Product functions
The Alarm system performs the following functions:
• Perimetric protection (doors, boot *)
• Interior and window breakage protection (by intrusion sensor)
• Alarm system tampering protection
• Protection against unauthorised starting of the engine (ignition-on protection)
• Self-powered alarm system
• Acoustic and visual alarm signalization
• Alarm system status and diagnostic indication light (LED)
* Some models do not have the trunk room lamp switch, therefor there is also no connection to the
Alarm system, in this case the intrusion sensor is protecting the opening of the trunk lid.
Alarm operation
The alarm is activated (triggered) in the following situations:
• A locked door or boot is opened in any way other than using the vehicle remote control
• When the intrusion sensor detects something moving inside the car, or a window is broken
• The battery terminal is disconnected while the alarm system is activated
NOTE:
The intrusion sensor may be triggered by one of the following:
• Dangling accessories
• Automatic or high pressure car washes
• The impact of hail, lightning strikes, or other kinds of impact or continuous vibrations
• Any open window or sliding roof

1. PIN code
If the alarm system has been installed in your vehicle, you did receive from the authorized retailer a
card (credit card size) with a PIN code (Personal Identication Number) consisting of 4 numbers.
The PIN code is used to deactivate the alarm system in case the remote control not working.
You should keep this card always with you. Do not leave it in your car.

2. Functionality
The alarm system will be armed when you lock the car, and disarmed when you unlock the car using
the remote key or smart key system.
2.1. To ARM the alarm system
Important:
To prevent false alarm, check that there is no one in the car, and that all windows, doors , trunk and
sliding roofs are closed before locking the car.

2.3. ARM without intrusion sensor
If you have to lock the car with somebody inside (passenger, children, pet, …), or if you want to leave
the window open, you have to deactivate the intrusion sensor to avoid that the sensors are causing
an false alarm.
Ensure that within 5 second after the ignition is switched-o the push-button under the LED
is pressed. Keep it pressed until the LED blinks once to conrm the sensor is de-activated when
locking the vehicle and arming the alarm next time.
This exclusion function will only function one time, next time the car is locked and armed the
intrusion sensor is activated again.
2.4. Automatic re-arming
(only for models with smart key)
If the car is unlocked by smart key or door handle and within 30 seconds no door or trunk lid is
opened, the door lock system will re-lock the car automatically and also re-arm the alarm system.

2.5. LED status
The status LED is used to give information to the user, during normal operation, and as a diagnostic
tool.
Condition Alarm status light (LED)

If the alarm was triggered during your absence, the hazard lights will blink 4 times and the internal
buzzer 4 times when the doors are unlocked. The alarm system memory will display via the status
LED what the alarm triggered. The status LED will display this until the ignition is switched-on.

2.6. Alarm override
This function can be used when the original remote or smart key does not operate the door locking
system due to a failure.
To arm / disarm the system
1. Press the button under the LED the number of times that corresponds to the rst digit of the PIN
Code, with a maximum 1.5 second delay between one press and the next.
If the LED is already on when the button is pressed, it will go out.
2. Wait for the LED to ash indicating that the next digit can be entered.
3. Repeat the process for all four digits.
4. When the correct code is entered the alarm will disarm.

3. CAUTIONS
Sound protection:
Since the alarm siren is mounted in the cabin of the vehicle it is advisable not to enter or stay in the
vehicle when the alarm siren is activated, due to the extreme sound pressure which may temporary
harm your hearing.
For models with standard remote control:
When locking the vehicle by the lock button whilst the driver door is not fully closed (door-ajar) the
vehicle will centrally lock and the alarm will arm. The alarm system will give a warning that the door
is not correctly closed by 3 times sounding the internal siren-buzzer.
When pushing/forcing the driver door to a fully closed position the central door lock system will
centrally unlock all doors but the alarm will remain armed *. (This situation is only valid for the driver
door, the other doors will not cause the central locking system to unlock after pushing/forcing the
door to a fully closed position)
In this situation press the lock button again to re-lock all doors (the alarm remains armed)
* Opening the door will cause the alarm to trigger/sound. To disarm the alarm system close the door, press
lock followed by unlock.
Using mechanical key to unlock.
When unlocking the car with the mechanical key the alarm system will remain armed *.

Einleitung
Dieses Alarmsystem wird mit der in der Betriebsanleitung des Fahrzeugs beschriebenen OriginalHochsicherheitsfernbedienung bedient. Zwecks Programmierung zusätzlicher Fernbedienungen
wenden Sie sich bitte an Ihren autorisierten Toyota-Händler. Das Alarmsystem lässt sich nur
mit der Original-Fernbedienung des Fahrzeugs aktivieren und deaktivieren. Der Schutz Ihres
Fahrzeugs wird durch Bewegungssensoren im Innenraum, sowie durch Tür-/Gepäckraumschalter
gewährleistet.
Das Alarmsystem ist gegen Datenangrie und Systemeingrie gesichert. Im Falle eines Alarms
werden die Alarmsirene, die Hupe des Fahrzeugs und die Blinker aktiviert.
Produktfunktionen
Das Alarmsystem führt folgende Funktionen aus:
• Außenschutz (Türen, Gepäckraum*)
• Schutz des Innenraums und der Fenster (durch Einbruchsensor)
• Schutz des Alarmsystems vor Manipulation
• Schutz gegen unbefugtes Starten des Motors (Wegfahrsperre)
• Alarmanlage mit eigener Stromversorgung
• Akustische und optische Alarmierung
• Alarmsystemstatus- und Diagnoseanzeigeleuchte (LED)
* Gewisse Modelle weisen keinen Gepäckraumleuchtenschalter auf, wodurch keine direkte
Verbindung mit dem Alarmsystem besteht. In diesem Fall schützt jedoch der Einbruchsensor vor
unbefugtem Önen des Gepäckraums.
Alarmfunktion
Der Alarm wird in folgenden Situationen aktiviert (ausgelöst):
• Eine verriegelte Tür oder Haube wird auf andere Weise als mit der Fernbedienung des Fahrzeugs
geönet.
• Der Einbruchsensor erkennt eine Bewegung innerhalb des Fahrzeugs oder das Einschlagen eines
Fensters.
• Der Batterieanschluss wird bei scharfgestelltem Alarmsystem abgeklemmt.
HINWEIS:
Der Einbruchsensor kann auch durch folgende Phänomene ausgelöst werden:
• Schaukelnde Gegenstände im Innenraum
• Waschen des Fahrzeugs in Waschanlagen oder mit Hochdruckreiniger
• Einwirkung von Hagel, Blitzschlag anderen Stößen oder permanenten Vibrationen
• Oene Fenster oder oenes Schiebedach

1. PIN-Code
Wenn das Alarmsystem in Ihr Fahrzeug eingebaut wurde, erhielten Sie vom Händler eine Karte
(Kreditkartengröße) mit einem PIN-Code (Personal Identification Number), der aus 4 Ziffern
besteht.
Der PIN-Code dient zum Deaktivieren des Alarmsystems, falls die Fernbedienung nicht mehr
funktioniert.
Sie sollten diese Karte immer bei sich haben. Lassen Sie sie nicht im Auto.

2. Funktionsweise
Das Alarmsystem wird scharfgestellt, wenn Sie das Fahrzeug verriegeln, und deaktiviert, sobald Sie
das Fahrzeug mit dem Fernbedienungsschlüssel entriegeln.
2.1. SCHARFSTELLEN des Alarmsystems
Wichtig:
Um Fehlalarme zu vermeiden sollten Sie sich vergewissern, dass sich niemand im Fahrzeug bendet
und dass alle Fenster, der Gepäckraum und das Schiebedach geschlossen sind, bevor Sie das
Fahrzeug verriegeln.

2.2. DEAKTIVIEREN des Alarmsystems

durch zweimaliges Aufblinken.

2.3. SCHARFSTELLEN ohne
Einbruchsensor
Wenn Sie das Fahrzeug verriegeln müssen, während sich jemand darin befindet (Beifahrer,
Kinder, Hund, …), oder wenn Sie ein Fenster oen lassen wollen, müssen Sie den Einbruchsensor
deaktivieren, um einen Fehlalarm zu verhindern.
Drücken Sie dazu innerhalb von 5 Sekunden nach Ausschalten der Zündung den Knopf unterhalb
der LED. Halten Sie ihn gedrückt, bis die LED einmal aufblinkt. Dies bestätigt, dass der Sensor beim
nächsten Verriegeln des Fahrzeugs und Aktivieren des Alarmsystems nicht scharfgestellt wird.
Diese Ausschlussfunktion gilt nur einmal: Bei erneutem Verriegeln des Fahrzeugs und Scharfstellen
des Alarmsystems wird auch der Einbruchsensor wieder aktiviert.
2.4. Automatische Reaktivierung
(nur bei Modellen mit intelligentem
Schlüssel)
Wenn Sie das Fahrzeug über den elektronischen Schlüssel oder Türgri entriegeln, aber innerhalb
von 30 Sek. weder Türen noch den Gepäckraum öffnen, verriegelt sich das Fahrzeug wieder
automatisch und das Alarmsystem stellt sich erneut scharf.

2.5. LED-Status
Die Status-LED informiert den Nutzer bei normalem Betrieb und dient als Diagnosehilfsmittel.
Bedingung Alarmstatusleuchte (LED)
Deaktivierungsstatus: LED aus
Scharfstellungsvorlauf: LED ein
Aktivierungszustand: LED blinkt
Alarmzustand: LED blinkt
Falls der Alarm während Ihrer Abwesenheit ausgelöst wurde, blinkt die Warnblinkanlage beim
Entriegeln der Türen 4-mal und der Innen-Warnsummer ertönt 4-mal. Der Alarmspeicher zeigt über
die Status-LED die Ursache für die Alarmauslösung an. Diese Anzeige durch die Status-LED erfolgt
beim Einschalten der Zündung.
1 + 3 blinkt Eine Tür oder der Gepäckraum wurde geönet.
2 blinkt Einbruchssensor
4 blinkt Manipulation der Zündung
8 blinkt Manipulation des Alarmsystems
2.6. Alarmumgehung
Diese Funktion wird verwendet, wenn der Benutzer die Fernbedienung verloren hat, oder der
elektronische Schlüssel das Türschlosssystem aufgrund einer Störung nicht betätigen kann.
Aktivieren / Deaktivieren des Alarmsystems
1. Geben Sie die erste Ziffer des PIN-Codes durch entsprechend häufiges Drücken der Taste
unterhalb der LED ein. Das Intervall zwischen den Tastendrücken darf maximal 1,5 Sekunden
betragen.
Leuchtet die LED beim Drücken der Taste bereits, erlischt sie.
2. Warten Sie, bis die LED blinkt, um anzuzeigen, dass die nächste Zier eingegeben werden kann.
3. Wiederholen Sie den Vorgang für alle vier Ziern.
4. Nach Eingabe des korrekten Codes deaktiviert sich das Alarmsystem.

3. VORSICHTSMASSREGELN
Lärmschutz:
Da die Alarmsirene im Innenraum eingebaut ist, sollten Sie nicht in das Fahrzeug einsteigen oder im
Innenraum verbleiben, solange die Alarmsirene ertönt. Anderenfalls drohen aufgrund des extrem
hohen Schalldruckpegels vorübergehende Hörstörungen.
Modelle mit Standard-Fernbedienung:
Wir das Fahrzeug über die Verriegelungstaste verriegelt, während die Fahrertür nicht vollständig
geschlossen ist, verriegelt sich das Fahrzeug und das Alarmsystem stellt sich scharf. Gleichzeitig
betätigt das Alarmsystem den Innen-Warnsummer 3-mal, um Sie zu warnen, dass die Tür nicht
ordnungsgemäß geschlossen ist.
Wird dann die Fahrertür gewaltsam in die Schließstellung gedrückt, entriegelt die
Zentralverriegelung alle Türen, das Alarmsystem bleibt jedoch aktiviert *. (Dies gilt nur für die
Fahrertür. Die anderen Türen bewirken keine Entriegelung durch die Zentralverriegelung, wenn sie
in die Schließstellung gedrückt werden.)
Drücken Sie in diesem Fall die Verriegelungstaste erneut, um die Türen erneut zu verriegeln (der
Alarm bleibt scharfgestellt).
* Önen der Tür löst den Alarm/Alarmton aus. Zum Deaktivieren des Alarmsystems die Tür schließen, die
Verriegelungs- und dann die Entriegelungstaste drücken.
Entriegelung mithilfe des mechanischen Schlüssels
Durch Entriegeln des Fahrzeugs mit dem mechanischen Schlüssel bleibt das Alarmsystem
scharfgestellt *.
* Önen der Tür löst den Alarm/Alarmton aus. Zum Deaktivieren des Alarmsystems die Tür schließen, die
Verriegelungs- und dann die Entriegelungstaste drücken.

Introduction
Ce système d’alarme est contrôlé par la télécommande d’origine décrite dans le manuel du
propriétaire du véhicule. Pour la programmation de télécommandes supplémentaires, consultez
votre revendeur agréé Toyota. Le système d’alarme peut être armé ou désarmé uniquement au
moyen de la télécommande d’origine du véhicule. La protection de votre véhicule est assurée par
des détecteurs de mouvement dans l’habitacle et par des contacteurs de porte/core.
Le système d’alarme est auto-protégé contre les attaques système. Pendant une alarme, la sirène
d’alarme, le klaxon du véhicule et les clignotants s’activent.
Fonctions du produit
Le système d'alarme exécute les fonctions suivantes :
• Protection périmétrique (portes, capot *)
• Protection de l’habitacle et détection du bris de vitres (par détecteur d'intrusion)
• Protection contre les attaques du système d’alarme
• Protection contre le démarrage non autorisé du moteur (protection à l'allumage)
• Système d'alarme auto-alimenté
• Signalisation d'alarme acoustique et visuelle
• Témoin d’état du système d’alarme et d’indication de diagnostic (LED)
* Certains modèles ne sont pas équipés du contacteur d'éclairage de porte de core, dans ce cas, il
n'y a également pas de connexion au système d'alarme et le capteur d'intrusion protège l'ouverture
du couvercle de core.
Utilisation de l'alarme
L'alarme s'active (se déclenche) dans les situations suivantes:
• Ouverture d’une porte ou du core verrouillés autrement qu’à l’aide de la télécommande du
véhicule
• Activation du détecteur d’intrusion : lorsqu’il détecte un mouvement à l’intérieur du véhicule ou
le bris d’une vitre
• Déconnexion de la borne de la batterie alors que le système d’alarme est activé
REMARQUE :
Le détecteur d’intrusion peut se déclencher dans les situations suivantes :
• Présence d’accessoires mal xés
• Lavage automatique ou à haute pression
• Impact de grêle, foudre ou autres types d’impacts ou encore vibrations continues
• Fenêtre ou toit ouvrant ouverts

1. Code PIN
Si le système d’alarme a été installé dans votre véhicule, votre revendeur agréé vous a remis une
carte (au format carte de crédit) avec un code PIN (personal identication Number) composé de 4
chires.
Le code PIN sert à désarmer le système d’alarme si la télécommande tombe en panne.
Vous devez toujours emporter cette carte avec vous. Ne l’abandonnez pas dans votre véhicule.

2. Fonctionnalités
Le système d’alarme s’arme dès que vous verrouillez le véhicule et se désarme lorsque vous le
déverrouillez à l’aide de la télécommande ou du système de clé intelligente.
2.1. Pour ARMER le système d'alarme
Important:
Pour éviter toute fausse alarme, vériez qu’aucune personne ne se trouve à l’intérieur du véhicule
et que toutes les fenêtres, les portes ainsi que le core et le toit ouvrant sont fermés avant de
verrouiller le véhicule.

2.3. ARMER sans détecteur d'intrusion
Si vous devez verrouiller le véhicule alors qu’une personne ou un animal se trouve à l’intérieur
(passager, enfant, chien, etc.) ou si vous souhaitez laisser une fenêtre ouverte, il est nécessaire de
désactiver le détecteur d’intrusion pour éviter que les capteurs ne déclenchent une fausse alarme.
Assurez-vous que le bouton-poussoir sous la LED est enfoncé dans les 5 secondes qui suivent la
mise sur OFF de la clé de contact. Maintenez-le enfoncé jusqu'à ce que la LED clignote une fois
pour conrmer que le détecteur est désactivé au prochain verrouillage du véhicule et armement de
l'alarme.
Cette fonction d'exclusion ne fonctionne qu'une seule fois, la prochaine fois que la voiture sera
verrouillée et armée, le détecteur d'intrusion sera de nouveau activé.
2.4. Réarmement automatique
(uniquement sur les modèles avec clé
intelligente)
Si le véhicule est déverrouillé à l’aide de la clé intelligente ou de la poignée de porte et si le core
ou les portes ne sont pas ouverts dans les 30 secondes, le système de verrouillage des portes
reverrouille automatiquement le véhicule et réarme également le système d'alarme.

2.5. Témoin LED
Le témoin LED d’état fournit des informations à l’utilisateur lors du fonctionnement normal et en
tant qu’outil de diagnostic.

Si l’alarme s’est déclenchée pendant votre absence, les clignotants s’allument à 4 reprises lorsque
vous déverrouillez les portes et le signal sonore retentit à 4 reprises. La mémorisation du système
d'alarme ache l'alarme déclenchée via le témoin LED d'état. Le témoin LED d'état ache cette
information jusqu'à ce que la clé de contact soit tournée sur ON.
1 + 3 clignotant Une porte ou un couvercle de core a été ouvert.
2 clignotant Le détecteur d'intrusion
4 clignotant Attaque de la clé de contact
8 clignotant Attaque du système d'alarme
2.6. Neutralisation de l'alarme
Cette fonction peut être utilisée lorsque la télécommande d'origine ou la clé intelligente n'actionne
pas le système de verrouillage de porte en raison d'un dysfonctionnement.
Pour armer / désarmer le système
1. Appuyez sur le bouton sous la LED le nombre de fois correspondant au premier chire du code
PIN, en ne laissant pas s'écouler plus de 1,5 seconde entre chaque appui.
Si le témoin LED est déjà allumé quand vous appuyez sur le bouton, il s’éteint.
2. Attendez que le témoin LED clignote pour vous indiquer que vous pouvez entrer le chire suivant.
3. Répétez cette procédure pour les quatre chires.
4. Lorsque le bon code est entré, l'alarme se désarme.

3. AVERTISSEMENTS
Protection sonore:
Etant donné que la sirène d'alarme est installée dans l'habitacle du véhicule il est déconseillé
d'entrer ou de rester dans le véhicule lorsque la sirène d'alarme est activée, le volume sonore
extrêmement élevé pourrait temporairement nuire à votre ouïe.
Pour les modèles avec télécommande standard:
Lors du verrouillage du véhicule avec le bouton de verrouillage alors que la porte du conducteur
n'est pas entièrement fermée (porte entrouverte) le véhicule se verrouille de manière centralisée
et l'alarme s'arme. Le système d'alarme avertit que la porte n'est pas correctement fermée en
déclenchant le signal sonore/sirène interne à 3 reprises.
Lorsque la porte du conducteur est poussée de force vers une position complètement fermée, le
système de verrouillage de porte centralisé déverrouille toutes les portes de manière centralisée
mais l'alarme reste armée *. (Cette situation est valable uniquement pour la porte du conducteur,
les autres portes n'amènent pas le système de verrouillage centralisé au déverrouillage après avoir
enfoncé de force la porte vers une position complètement fermée)
Dans ce cas, enfoncez à nouveau le bouton de verrouillage pour reverrouiller toutes les portes
(l'alarme reste armée)
* L'ouverture de la porte entraîne le déclenchement/retentissement de l'alarme. Pour désarmer le système
d'alarme, fermez la porte, appuyez sur le bouton de verrouillage puis de déverrouillage.
Utilisation de la clé mécanique pour le déverrouillage.
Lors du déverrouillage du véhicule avec la clé mécanique, le système d'alarme reste armé *.
* L'ouverture de la porte entraîne le déclenchement/retentissement de l'alarme. Pour désarmer le système
d'alarme, fermez la porte, appuyez sur le bouton de verrouillage puis de déverrouillage.

28 VSS 3.1
Inleiding
Dit alarmsysteem wordt bediend met de originele hoogbeveiligde afstandsbediening, zoals
beschreven in de handleiding van het voertuig. Om extra afstandsbedieningen te programmeren,
neemt u contact op met uw erkende dealer. Het alarmsysteem kan alleen worden geactiveerd en
gedeactiveerd met de originele afstandsbediening van de auto. Binnenbewegingssensoren en
sensoren op de deur/koerklep zorgen voor de beveiliging van uw auto.
Het alarmsysteem beschikt over een zelfbeveiliging tegen een systeemaanslag. Tijdens een alarm
worden de alarmsirene, de autoclaxon en de knipperlichten geactiveerd.
Productfuncties
Het alarmsysteem voert de volgende functies uit:
• Perimetrische bescherming (deuren, koer*)
• Beveiliging tegen inbraak en inslaan van ramen (door inbraaksensor)
• Beveiliging tegen knoeien met het alarmsysteem
• Bescherming tegen ongeoorloofd starten van de motor (ontsteking-aan bescherming)
• Alarmsysteem met eigen voeding
• Akoestische en visuele alarmsignalisatie
• Indicatielampje voor alarmstatus en diagnostiek (led)
* Sommige modellen zijn niet voorzien van een schakelaar voor de verlichting in de koerruimte.
Daarom is er ook geen verbinding met het alarmsysteem. In dit geval zorgt de inbraaksensor voor
de bescherming tegen het openen van de koerklep.
Bediening alarm
Het alarm wordt geactiveerd (treedt in werking) in de volgende situaties:
• Een vergrendelde deur of koffer wordt geopend op een andere manier dan met de
afstandsbediening van het voertuig.
• Wanneer de sensor een beweging detecteert binnen in de auto of wanneer een raam wordt
ingeslagen.
• De accupool wordt losgekoppeld terwijl het alarmsysteem geactiveerd is.
OPMERKING:
De inbraaksensor kan door een van de volgende mogelijkheden in werking treden:
• Rondslingerende voorwerpen
• Automatische of hogedrukwasinstallaties
• De inslag van hagel, bliksem of andere soorten impact of aanhoudende trillingen.
• Open ramen of een open schuifdak
