STOP AND START ENGINE SYSTEM (S&S
Available on gas-powered Highlanders is the available Stop
and Start Engine System (S&S). This shuts the engine off when
Highlander is at rest — like when at a stoplight — to help save
more fuel. When it’s time to go, releasing the brake restarts the
engine so you can get on your way.
