SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
- Please read all the instructions in this manual before using your vacum cleaner.
- The instructions should be read and observed for your own safety.
When using this vacuum cleaner, basic precautions should be always be followed, including the following.

To reduce the risk of re, electric shock or
injury :
1. Do not use outdoors. Never vacuum damp or wet surface or liquids.
2. This appliance is not intended for use by
young children or inrm persons unless
the have been adequately supervised by a responsible person to ensure that they can use the appliance safely. Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
3. Do not leave the vacuum cleaner when plugged in. Turn off the main switch before unplugging. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before maintenance.
4. Do not disassemble, modify or repair by yourself. Only an authorized engineer is allowed to disassemble ro repair.
5. Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If the vacuum cleaner is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, it must be repaired
by manufacturer, service agent or qualied
person in order to avoid hazard.
6. Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
7. Do not handle the plug or the vacuum cleaner with wet hands.
8. Hold the plug when rewinding onto the cord reel, to prevent the cord from whipping.
9. Do not pull or carry by the cord, use the cord as a handle, close a door on the cord, or pull the cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run the vacuum cleaner over the cord. Do not scratch, damage, modify, bend sharply, jerk, twist, or bundle the cord. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
10. Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
11. Do not pick up ammable or combustible liquids such as gasoline, kerosene, benzene,
thinner, etc. or ammable powder such as
toner, or use in areas where they may be present.
12. Keep hair, loose clothing, ngers, feet and all parts of body away from openings, rotating agitator and other moving parts.
13. Do not pick up hard, sharp object such as glass fragments, pins, cutlery, etc. They may damage the cleaner.
14. Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, or anything that may reduce air
ow.
15. Do not use without dust bag and/or lters in place.
16. Always turn off the main switch before connecting or disconnecting hose, extension tube, or other accessories. Do not insert the plug unless the main switch is “OFF”.
17. Do not use extension cords or outlets with inadequate current carrying
18. The use of extension cord is not recommended.
19. Do not store the vacuum cleaner outdoors. Store indoors in a cool, dry place.
20. Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
21. Use only for intended use as described in this manual. Use only attachments recommended by TOSHIBA.
