1 INTRODUCTION

Thank you for purchasing the TOPCOM Twintalker 3700. It’s a short range, low powered radio communication device that has no running costs other than the minimal cost of re-charging the batteries. The TwinTalker 3700 operates on Private Mobile Radio frequencies and can be used in any country where the service is authorised as indicated on the packing box and in this manual.

2 INTENDED PURPOSE:

It can be used for different professional as well as for recreational purposes. For example: to keep in contact during travelling with 2 or more cars, biking, skiing. It can be used to keep in contact with your children when they are playing outside, etc...

3 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

3.1 GENERAL

Please read carefully through the following information concerning safety and proper use. Make yourself familiar with all functions of the device. Keep this manual on a safe place for future use.

3.2 BURNING INJURIES

• If the cover of the antenna is damaged, do not touch because when an antenna comes in contact with the skin, a minor burn may result when transmitting.

• Batteries can cause property damage such as burns if conductive material such as jewellery, keys or beaded chains touches exposed terminals.The material may complete an electrical circuit (short circuit) and become quite hot. Exercise care in handling any charged battery, particularly when placing it inside a pocket, purse or other container with metal objects.

3.3 PERSONAL SAFETY

• Do not place your device in the area over an air bag or in the air bag deployment area. Air bags inflate with great force. If a communicator is placed in the bag deployment area and the air bag inflates, the communicator may be propelled with great force and cause serious injury to the occupants of the vehicle.

• Keep the radio at least 15 centimetres away from a pacemaker.

• Turn your radio OFF as soon as interference is taking place with medical equipment.

• Do not replace batteries in a potentially explosive atmosphere. Contact sparking may occur while installing or removing batteries and cause an explosion.

• Turn your communicator off when in any area with a potentially explosive atmosphere. Sparks in such areas could cause an explosion or fire resulting in bodily injury or even death.

• Never throw batteries in fire as they may explode.

Restriction: Check the local regulations before using it outside the country where it was purchased. The standard may be prohibited in this country.

Areas with potentially explosive atmospheres are often, but not always, clearly marked. They include fuelling areas such as below deck on boats, fuel or chemical transfer or storage facilities; areas where the air contains chemicals or particles, such as grain, dust or metal powders; and any other area where you would normally be advised to turn off your vehicle engine.

3.4 POISONING DANGER

• Keep batteries away from small children

3.5 LEGAL

• In some countries it is prohibited to use your PMR while driving a vehicle. In this case leave the road before using the device.

• Turn your unit OFF when on board an aircraft when instructed to do so. Any use of the unit must be in accordance with airline regulations or crew instructions.

• Turn your unit OFF in any facilities where posted notices instruct you to do so. Hospitals or health care facilities may be using equipment that is sensitive to external RF energy.

• Replacing or modifying the antenna may affect the PMR radio specifications and violate the CE regulations. Unauthorised antennas could also damage the radio.

3.6 NOTES

• Do not touch the antenna while transmitting, it could affect the range.

• Remove the battery if the device is not going to be used for a long period.

4 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• To clean the unit, wipe with a soft cloth dampened with water. Don’t use a cleaner or solvents on the unit; they can damage the case and leak inside, causing permanent damage.

• Battery contacts may be wiped with a dry lint-free cloth.

• If the unit gets wet, turn it off and remove the batteries immediately. Dry the battery compartment with a soft cloth to minimize potential water damage. Leave the cover off the battery compartment overnight or until completely dry. Do not use the unit until completely dry.

5 DISPOSAL OF THE DEVICE

Dispose of the unit and used batteries in an environment friendly manner. Do not dispose of batteries in a normal household garbage.

6 USING A PMR DEVICE

To communicate between PMR devices they need to be set all on the same channel and within receiving range (up to max. 3 km in open field). Since these devices use free frequency bands (channels), all devices in operation share these channels(total 8 channels). Therefore, privacy is not garanteed. Anybody with a PMR set to your channel can overhear the conversation. If you want to communicate (transmitting a voice signal) you need to press the -button. Once this button pressed, the device will go into transmit mode and you can speak into the microphone. All other PMR devices in range , on the same channel and in standby mode (not transmitting) will hear your message. You need to wait until the other party stops transmitting before you can reply to the message. At the end of each transmission the unit will send a beep. To reply, just press the -button and speak into the microphone.

If 2 or more users press the - button at the same time the receiver will receive only the stongest signal and the other signal (s) will be supressed. Therefore you should only transmit a signal (press - button) when the

7 GETTING STARTED

7.1 REMOVING/INSTALLING THE BELT CLIP

1.To remove the clip from the unit, push the belt clip (B) towards the antenna, while pulling the clip tab (A).

2.When re-installing the belt clip, a click indicates the BeltClip is locked into position.

7.2 BATTERY INSTALLATION

1.Remove the belt clip (§ 7.1).

2.Pull the battery door tab down (C) and slide the battery cover away from the antenna. (D)

3.Install the rechargeable battery pack following the polarity as shown. Ensure that the metal contacts on the site are facing outwards from the radio to connect on the battery door.(E)

4.Re-install the Battery Cover and Belt Clip (§ 7.1).

Note: Instead of the supplied battery pack, the TT3700 can be used with 3xAAA standard rechargeable batteries. Follow the polarity as shown in the battery compartment when installing. You are not able to use the desktop charger with standard rechargeable AAA batteries installed.

8 CHARGING BATTERIES

When battery packs are installed, the desktop charger provides drop-in charging conveniency

1.Put the desktop charger on a flat surface.

2.Plug one end of the supplied adapter into the electric socket and the other end into the connector on the backside of the desktop charger (13).

3.Put the radio in the charger as indicated.

4.The charging LED will turn on if it’s properly inserted and charging.

It will take about 8 to 10 hours to fully charge the batteries

The BATTERY CHARGE LEVEL is indicated by the number of squares present inside the BATTERY icon on the LCD Screen.

When the BATTERY CHARGE LEVEL is low, the BATTERY icon will flash to indicate that the batteries need to be replaced or recharged.

12 USING THE TWINTALKER 3700

12.1 TURNING THE UNIT ON/OFF

• To activate; press and hold . The unit will “beep” and the LCD Screen will display the current channel.

• To switch off; press and hold again. The unit will “beep” and the LCD Screen will turn blank.

12.2 ADJUSTING SPEAKER VOLUME

The Speaker Volume can be adjusted using and . The Speaker Volume level is displayed on the LCD.

12.3 RECEIVING A SIGNAL

The unit is continuously in the RECEIVE mode when the unit is ON and not transmitting. When you receive a signal on the current channel, the RX icon is displayed.

12.4 TRANSMITTING A SIGNAL

• Press and hold to TRANSMIT.

• Hold the unit in a vertical position with the MICROPHONE 10 cm from the mouth and speak into the microphone.

• Release when you have finished transmitting.

12.5 CHANGING CHANNELS

The PMR has 8 available channels.

To change channels:

• Press once, the current channel number flashes on the LCD Screen.

• Press or to change the channel.

• Press to confirm your selection and return to the NORMAL mode.

• To confirm and shift to the next option, press .

NOTE: Any PMR set on the same channel can receive and listen to the conversation, also when the other use a CTCSS code.

Dispose of batteries at a designated battery disposal unit and not in the household waste. Do not short-circuit & dispose of in fire. Remove the batteries if this device is not going to be used for a long period.

In order for other people to receive your transmission, they must be set on the same channel and CTCSS code.

12.6 CTCSS (CONTINUOUS TONE CODED SQUELCH SYSTEM)

The 2 digit CTCSS code corresponds to a specific tone frequency the radio emits. Two users, with the same channel and CTCSS set can hear one another.They will not be able to hear anyone else on the channel unless the other radios have the same exact CTCSS code enabled.

The PMR has 38 CTCSS codes available.

• Press twice, the CTCSS code will flash

• Press or to select another code.

• Press to confirm your selection and return to the NORMAL mode.

• To confirm and shift to the next option, press .

NOTE: Any PMR set on the same channel can receive and listen to the conversation, also when the other use a CTCSS code.

12.7 MONITOR

You can use the MONITOR feature to check for weaker signals in the current channel.

• Press and simultaneous to activate channel monitoring.

• Press to stop monitoring.

12.8 VOX SELECTION

The PMR is capable of voice activated (VOX) transmission. In VOX mode, the radio will transmit a signal when it is activated by your voice or other sound around you. VOX operation is not recommended If you plan to use your radio in a noisy or windy environment.

• Press 3 times.

• Press to turn the VOX feature ON and press again to select the VOX sensitivity level which is indicated in the right corner of the display. Press until OF appears on the display, to turn VOX OFF.

• In the VOX mode, the VOX icon will be displayed.

• To confirm your selection and return to the NORMAL mode, press .

12.9 CHANNEL SCAN

CHANNEL SCAN performs searches for active signals in an endless loop from channel 1 to 8.

• Press and hold . Press briefly to start scanning.

• Release the buttons.

• When an active signal (one of 8 channels) is detected, CHANNEL SCAN pauses and you will hear the active signal.

• Press to communicate through the active signal channel. Press to deactivate channel scan.

When an active signal (one of 8 channels) is detected, press or to bypass the current channel and continue to search for another active channel.

12.10 CALL TONES

A call tone alerts others that you want to talk.

a. Setting the Call Tone

5 different Call Tones can be selected.

• Press 4 times. CA will be displayed.

• Press or to select another call tone or select OF to enable call tones.

• Press to confirm your selection and return to the standby mode.

b. Sending a call Tone

Press briefly. The call tone will be transmitted for 3 seconds on the set channel.

12.11 ROGER BEEP ON/OFF

After the - button is released, the unit will send out a roger beep to confirm that you have stopped talking.

To set the Roger Beep.

• Press 5 times. ‘ro’ will be displayed.

• Press to enable (ON) or disable the Roger-Beep (OF).

• Press to confirm your selection and return to the standby mode.

12.12 KEY-TONE ON/OFF

When a button is pressed, the unit will beep briefly.

To set the key-tone.

• Press 6 times. ‘to’ will be displayed.

• Press to enable (ON) or disable the Roger-beep (OF).

• Press to confirm your selection and return to the standby mode.

12.13 DUAL CHANNEL MONITOR FUNCTION

In stand-by, the PMR is set on one set channel with CTCSS code. The PMR will only receive signals transmitted on that channel and CTCSS code. Dual Channel Monitor allows you to monitor a second channel with CTCSS code.

• Press 7 times, DCM appears on the display.

• Press or to change the channel.

• Press to confirm the channel selection and go to CTCSS SUB-CHANNEL SELECTION

• Press or to change the CTCSS.

• Press to confirm.

To disable the function select channel ‘O’

When the Dual Channel Monitor function is activated, the PMR will switch sequentially between the standby channel + CTCSS and the Dual Channel + CTCSS.

12.14 BUTTON LOCK

• Press and hold for 3 seconds to activate or deactivate the BUTTON LOCK mode. The BUTTON LOCK icon is displayed on the LCD Screen.

• Press and hold again to deactivate BUTTON LOCK

12.15 STOPWATCH

• Press and hold for 3 seconds to enter stopwatch mode

• Press to start counting

• Press to stop counting

• Press to reset the timer

• Press and hold for 3 seconds to exit stopwatch mode

12.16 HEADSET CONNECTION

The Twintalker 3700 can be used with an external microphone and speaker (included) The connector is located under the protective rubber cover on the top of the unit.To attach the external speaker/microphone headsets or earpiece, lift the rubber flap on the top of the unit to expose the connector. Insert the appropriate plug into the connector.

14 WARRANTY

14.1 WARRANTY PERIOD

Topcom units have a 24-month warranty period. The warranty period starts on the day the new unit is purchased. Consumables or defects causing a negligible effect on operation or value of the equipment are not covered. The warranty has to be proven by presentation of a copy of the original purchase receipt, on which the date of purchase and the unit-model are indicated.

14.2 WARRANTY HANDLING

A faulty unit needs to be returned to an authorized service centre including a valid purchase note. If the unit develops a fault during the warranty period, the service centre will repair any defects caused by material or manufacturing faults free of charge. The service centre will at its discretion fulfil its warranty obligations by either repairing or exchanging the faulty units or parts of the faulty units. In case of replacement, colour and model can be different from the original purchased unit. The initial purchase date shall determine the start of the warranty period. The warranty period is not extended if the unit is exchanged or repaired by the appointed service centres.

14.3 WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS

Damage or defects caused by incorrect treatment or operation and damage resulting from use of nonoriginal parts or accessories are not covered by the warranty. The warranty does not cover damage caused by outside factors, such as lightning, water and fire, nor any damage caused during transportation. No warranty can be claimed if the serial number on the unit has been changed, removed or rendered illegal.

The CE symbol indicates that the unit complies with the essential requirements of the R&TTE directive.

1 INLEIDING

We danken u voor de aankoop van de Topcom Twintalker 3700. Het is een radiocommunicatietoestel met kort bereik en laag vermogen dat behalve de minimumkost voor het opladen van de batterijen, geen verdere gebruikskosten heeft. De Twintalker 3700 werkt op Private Mobile radiofrequenties en kan in elk land worden gebruikt waar de dienst is toegelaten (zie verpakking en verder in deze handleiding).

2 GEBRUIKSDOEL:

Het toestel kan worden gebruikt voor verschillende professionele en recreatieve doeleinden. Bijvoorbeeld: om in contact te blijven wanneer u op reis bent in 2 of meer auto’s, tijdens het fietsen, het skiën. Het kan worden gebruikt om in contact te blijven met uw kinderen wanneer ze buiten spelen, enz...

3 VEILIGHEIDSINSTRUCTIES

3.1 ALGEMEEN

Lees de onderstaande informatie in verband met veiligheid en correct gebruik aandachtig. Maak u vertrouwd met alle functies van het toestel. Bewaar deze handleiding op een veilige plaats voor later gebruik.

3.2 BRANDWONDEN

• Raak de antenne niet aan als de afdekking van de antenne beschadigd is, dit kan bij contact met de huid tot kleine brandwonden leiden bij het zenden.

• Batterijen kunnen materiële schade veroorzaken, zoals brandschade, als geleidend materiaal zoals sierraden, sleutels of kralen kettingen in aanraking komen met blootliggende klemmen. Het materiaal kan een kortsluiting veroorzaken en erg warm worden. Hanteer opgeladen batterijen met zorg, vooral wanneer u de batterij in een zak, tas of andere houder met metalen voorwerpen plaatst.

3.3 PERSOONLIJKE VEILIGHEID

• Gebruik in auto’s: Plaats het toestel niet boven of in het werkingsgebied van de airbag. Airbags worden met een enorme kracht opgeblazen. Als een communicatietoestel binnen de radius van de airbag wordt geplaatst en de airbag wordt geactiveerd, kan het toestel met een enorme kracht worden weggeslingerd en de inzittenden van het voertuig zwaar verwonden.

• Houd de radio tenminste 15 centimeter uit de buurt van een pacemaker.

• Schakel uw radio onmiddellijk UIT in geval van interferentie met medische apparatuur.

• Vervang de batterijen NIET in een potentieel explosieve omgeving. Bij het plaatsen of verwijderen van de batterijen kunnen contactvonken ontstaan, die een explosie kunnen veroorzaken.

• Schakel uw communicatietoestel uit wanneer u zich in een potentieel explosieve omgeving bevindt. Vonken in dergelijke omgevingen zouden een explosie of brand kunnen veroorzaken, met lichamelijk letsel of zelfs de dood tot gevolg.

• Gooi batterijen nooit in een vuurhaard, want ze zouden kunnen ontploffen.

Beperking: Controleer de lokale voorschriften alvorens het toestel te gebruiken in een ander land dan het land van aankoop. De standaard kan verboden zijn in dat land.

Potentieel explosieve omgevingen zijn vaak, maar niet altijd, duidelijk aangeduid. Het gaat daarbij om tankzones zoals benedendeks op boten, overslag- of opslagplaatsen voor brandstof of chemicaliën; zones waar de lucht chemicaliën of partikels bevat, zoals korrels, stof of metaalpoeder; en alle andere zones waar u normaal wordt aangeraden de motor van uw auto af te zetten.

3.4 VERGIFTIGINGSGEVAAR

• Houd batterijen buiten het bereik van kleine kinderen

3.5 WETGEVING

• In sommige landen is het gebruik van uw PMR in de auto tijdens het rijden verboden. Verlaat in dat geval de weg alvorens het toestel te gebruiken.

• Schakel uw toestel UIT aan boord van een vliegtuig wanneer u dat wordt gevraagd. Gebruik het toestel enkel in overeenstemming met de voorschriften van de luchtvaartmaatschappij of met de instructies van de bemanning.

• Schakel uw toestel UIT op plaatsen waar u dat via borden of affiches wordt gevraagd. Ziekenhuizen of gezondheidszorginstellingen kunnen apparatuur gebruiken die gevoelig is voor externe RF-energie.

• De antenne vervangen of veranderen, kan een invloed hebben op de PMR-radiospecificaties en indruisen tegen de CE-voorschriften. Niet-toegelaten antennes kunnen ook schade aan de radio veroorzaken.

3.6 OPMERKINGEN:

• Raak de antenne niet aan tijdens het zenden, dat zou het bereik kunnen verminderen.

• Verwijder de batterij als u het toestel langere tijd niet gebruikt.

4 REINIGING EN ONDERHOUD

• Om het toestel te reinigen, gebruikt u een zachte doek, bevochtigd met water. Gebruik geen reinigingsof oplosmiddelen op het toestel; ze kunnen de behuizing beschadigen en in het toestel sijpelen, waardoor permanente schade wordt aangericht

• De batterijcontacten kunnen met een droge pluisvrije doek worden gereinigd.

• Als het toestel nat wordt, moet u het uitschakelen en de batterijen onmiddellijk verwijderen. Droog het batterijvak met een zachte doek om mogelijke waterschade tot een minimum te beperken. Plaats het afdekplaatje een nacht lang of tot het toestel volledig droog is, niet terug op het batterijvak. Gebruik het toestel niet tot het volledig droog is.

5 HET TOESTEL VERWIJDEREN

Verwijder het toestel en de gebruikte batterijen op een milieuvriendelijke manier. Gooi batterijen niet bij het normale huishoudelijke afval.

6 EEN PMR-TOESTEL GEBRUIKEN

Om met andere PMR-toestellen te communiceren, moeten alle toestellen op hetzelfde kanaal zijn afgestemd en zich binnen het ontvangstbereik bevinden (tot max. 3 km in open veld). Daar deze toestellen gebruik maken van vrije frequentiebanden (kanalen), delen alle toestellen in werking die kanalen (in het totaal 8 kanalen). Er kan dus geen privacy worden gegarandeerd. Iedereen met een PMR die is afgestemd op uw kanaal, kan meeluisteren. Als u wilt communiceren (een spraaksignaal versturen) moet u de - knop indrukken (indrukken om te praten). Eens deze knop is ingedrukt, gaat het toestel in zendmodus en kunt u in de microfoon praten. Alle andere PMR-toestellen binnen het bereik, op hetzelfde kanaal en in standby-modus (niet zenden) zullen uw bericht horen. U moet wachten tot uw gesprekspartner stopt met zenden vooraleer u kunt antwoorden. Op het einde van elke transmissie, stuurt het toestel een pieptoon. Om te antwoorden, drukt u gewoon op de - knop en spreekt u in de microfoon.

Als 2 of meer gebruikers de - knop tegelijkertijd indrukken, ontvangt de ontvanger enkel het sterkste signaal en wordt (worden) het (de) andere signaal (signalen) onderdrukt. U mag dus pas een signaal zenden (op de

7 VAN START GAAN

7.1 DE RIEMCLIP AFNEMEN/MONTEREN

1.Om de clip van het toestel te verwijderen, duwt u de riemclip (B) naar de antenne en trekt u tegelijkertijd aan het lipje van de clip (A).

2.Wanneer u de riemclip opnieuw op het toestel aanbrengt, klikt de riemclip hoorbaar op de juiste plaats.

7.2 BATTERIJEN PLAATSEN

1.Verwijder de riemclip (§ 7.1).

2.Trek het deurtje van het batterijvak (C) naar beneden en schuif het afdekplaatje van het batterijvak weg van de antenne. (D)

3.Plaats de oplaadbare batterijpak volgens de correcte polariteit zoals weergegeven. Zorg ervoor dat de metalen contacten op de zijkant naar buiten zijn gericht ten opzichte van de radio, zodat ze een verbinding maken met de batterijklep (E)

4.Plaats het afdekplaatje terug over het batterijvak en monteer de riemclip. (§ 7.1).

Opmerking: In plaats van de bijgeleverde batterijpak, kunt u de TT3700 ook gebruiken met 3 standaard oplaadbare AAA-batterijen. Volg bij het plaatsen de polariteit zoals aangeduid in het batterijvak. U kunt de bureaulader niet gebruiken wanneer u standaard oplaadbare AAA-batterijen hebt geplaatst

8 BATTERIJEN OPLADEN

Wanneer u de batterijdoos hebt geplaatst, biedt de bureaulader een handige manier om het toestel op te laden.

1.Plaats de bureaulader op een plat oppervlak.

2.Stop het ene uiteinde van de bijgeleverde adapter in het stopcontact en het andere in de aansluiting op de achterkant van de bureaulader (13).

3.Stop de radio in de lader zoals weergegeven.

4.Het laadlampje zal oplichten wanneer de radio correct is geplaatst en wordt opgeladen.

Het volledig opladen van de batterijen zal ongeveer 8 tot 10 uur in beslag nemen.

12 TWINTALKER 3700 GEBRUIKEN

12.1 HET TOESTEL IN- EN UITSCHAKELEN (ON/OFF)

• Activeren: Houd ingedrukt. Het toestel begint te "piepen" en op het LCD-scherm verschijnt het huidige kanaal.

• Uitschakelen: Houd opnieuw ingedrukt. Het toestel begint te "piepen" en het LCD-scherm wordt zwart.

12.2 LUIDSPREKERVOLUME INSTELLEN

Het luidsprekervolume kan worden ingesteld via en . Het luidsprekervolume verschijnt op het LCD-scherm.

12.3 EEN SIGNAAL ONTVANGEN

Het toestel staat altijd in ONTVANGST-modus wanneer het AAN staat en niet zendt. Als u een signaal ontvangt op het huidige kanaal, verschijnt het RX-symbool op het scherm.

12.4 EEN SIGNAAL ZENDEN

• Houd ingedrukt om te ZENDEN.

• Houd het toestel verticaal met de MICROFOON 10 cm van de mond en spreek in de microfoon.

• Laat los wanneer u klaar bent met praten.

12.5 VAN KANAAL VERANDEREN

De PMR heeft 8 beschikbare kanalen.

Van kanaal veranderen:

• Druk één keer op . Het huidige kanaalnummer begint te flikkeren op het LCD-scherm.

• Druk op of op om het kanaal te wijzigen.

• Druk op om uw keuze te bevestigen en terug te keren naar de NORMALE modus.

• Om te bevestigen en over te gaan naar de volgende optie, drukt u op .

Gooi de batterijen bij het klein gevaarlijk afval en niet bij het gewone huisvuil. Maak geen kortsluiting & gooi de batterijen niet in vuur. Verwijder de batterijen als u het toestel langere tijd niet gebruikt. Demonteer de batterijdoos

niet.

Andere mensen die uw transmissie willen ontvangen, moeten ook hetzelfde kanaal en dezelfde CTCSS-code hebben ingesteld.

12.6 CTCSS (CONTINUOUS TONE CODED SQUELCH SYSTEM)

De 2 tekens tellende CTCSS-code komt overeen met een specifieke toonfrequentie die de radio uitzendt. Twee gebruikers die afgestemd zijn op hetzelfde kanaal en dezelfde CTCSS kunnen elkaar horen. Ze zullen niemand anders op het kanaal kunnen horen tenzij de andere radio’s exact dezelfde CTCSS-code hebben ingesteld.

De PMR heeft 38 CTCSS-codes.

• Druk twee keer op . De CTCSS-code begint te flikkeren.

• Druk op of op om een andere code te selecteren.

• Druk op om uw keuze te bevestigen en terug te keren naar de NORMALE modus.

• Om te bevestigen en over te gaan naar de volgende optie, drukt u op .

OPMERKING: Elke PMR die is afgestemd op hetzelfde kanaal kan het gesprek ontvangen en meeluisteren, ook wanneer de andere een CTCSS-code gebruikt.

12.7 MONITOR

U kunt de MONITOR-functie gebruiken om te zoeken naar zwakkere signalen in het huidige kanaal.

• Druk tegelijkertijd op en om de kanaalmonitoring te activeren.

• Druk op om de monitoring te stoppen.

12.8 SPRAAKDETECTIE

De PMR kan spraakgestuurd (VOX) zenden. In VOX-modus zendt de radio een signaal indien hij wordt geactiveerd door uw stem of een ander geluid rondom u. De VOX-modus wordt niet aangeraden als u van plan bent om uw radio te gebruiken in een lawaaierige of winderige omgeving.

• Druk 3 keer op .

• Druk op om de VOX-functie te activeren en druk opnieuw op om het VOX- gevoeligheidsniveau te selecteren dat wordt weergegeven in de rechterhoek van het scherm. Druk op

tot OFF op het scherm verschijnt om VOX uit te schakelen.

• In de VOX-modus verschijnt het VOX-pictogram op het scherm.

• Om uw keuze te bevestigen en terug te keren naar de NORMALE modus, drukt u op .

12.9 CHANNEL SCAN

Met de functie CHANNEL SCAN zoekt u naar actieve signalen in een eindeloze lus van kanaal 1 tot 8.

• Houd ingedrukt. Druk kort op om het scannen te starten.

• Laat de knoppen los.

• Als een actief signaal (één van 8 kanalen) wordt gedetecteerd, pauzeert CHANNEL SCAN en krijgt u het actieve signaal te horen.

• Druk op om te communiceren op het kanaal met het actieve signaal. Druk op om Channel Scan te deactiveren.

Als een actief signaal (één van 8 kanalen) wordt gedetecteerd, drukt u op of om het huidige kanaal te omzeilen en verder te zoeken naar andere actieve kanalen.

12.10 OPROEPTONEN

Met een oproeptoon waarschuwt u anderen dat u wilt praten.

a. De oproeptoon instellen

U kunt kiezen uit 5 verschillende oproeptonen.

• Druk 4 keer op . CA verschijnt op het scherm.

• Druk op of om een andere oproeptoon te selecteren of selecteer OFF om oproeptonen uit te schakelen.

• Druk op om uw keuze te bevestigen en terug te keren naar de Standby-modus.

b. Een oproeptoon zenden

Druk kort op . De oproeptoon wordt gedurende 3 seconden gestuurd op het ingestelde kanaal.

12.11 ROGER-PIEPTOON ON/OFF

Nadat u de , -knop heeft losgelaten, stuurt het toestel een roger-pieptoon om te bevestigen dat u klaar bent met praten.

De roger-pieptoon instellen.

• Druk 5 keer op . ’ro’ verschijnt op het scherm.

• Druk op om de roger-pieptoon in te schakelen (ON) of druk op om de roger-pieptoon uit te schakelen (OFF).

• Druk op om uw keuze te bevestigen en terug te keren naar de Standby-modus.

12.12 TOETSTOON AAN/UIT

Wanneer u een knop indrukt, hoort u een korte pieptoon.

12.13 FUNCTIE DUAL CHANNEL MONITOR

In stand-by is de PMR ingesteld op één bepaald kanaal met CTCSS-code. De PMR ontvangt alleen signalen die op dat kanaal en die CTCSS-code worden gestuurd. De functie Dual Channel Monitor laat u toe een tweede kanaal met CTCSS-code te bewaken.

• Druk 7 keer op , DCM verschijnt op het scherm.

• Druk op of op om het kanaal te wijzigen.

• Druk op om de kanaalkeuze te bevestigen en naar CTCSS SUB-CHANNEL SELECTION te gaan

12.16 AANSLUITING KOPTELEFOON

De Twintalker 3700 kan worden gebruikt met een externe koptelefoon. De aansluiting vindt u onder de rubberen beschermflap bovenaan op het toestel.Om de externe luidspreker/microfoon, koptelefoon of het oortje aan te sluiten, tilt u de rubberen flap bovenaan op het toestel op om de stekker te zien. Steek de passende stekker in de aansluiting.

14 GARANTIE

14.1 GARANTIEPERIODE

Op de Topcom-toestellen wordt een garantie van 24 maanden verleend. De garantieperiode begint op de dag waarop het nieuwe toestel wordt gekocht. Kleine onderdelen of defecten die een verwaarloosbaar effect hebben op de werking of waarde van het toestel zijn niet gedekt door de garantie. De garantie moet worden bewezen door voorlegging van het aankoopbewijs waarop de datum van aankoop en het toesteltype staan.

14.2 AFWIKKELING VAN GARANTIECLAIMS

Een defect toestel moet, samen met een geldig aankoopbewijs, worden teruggestuurd naar een Topcom-hersteldienst. Als het toestel tijdens de garantieperiode een defect vertoont, zal Topcom of diens officieel erkende hersteldienst eventuele defecten te wijten aan materiaal- of productiefouten gratis herstellen. Topcom zal naar keuze haar garantieverplichtingen vervullen door defecte toestellen of onderdelen van defecte toestellen ofwel te herstellen ofwel te vervangen. In het geval dat het toestel wordt vervangen, kan de kleur en het model verschillend zijn van het oorspronkelijk gekochte toestel. De oorspronkelijke aankoopdatum is bepalend voor het begin van de garantieperiode. De garantieperiode wordt niet verlengd als het toestel wordt vervangen of hersteld door Topcom of diens officieel erkende hersteldienst.

14.3 AFWIKKELING VAN GARANTIECLAIMS

Schade of defecten te wijten aan onoordeelkundig gebruik of bediening en schade te wijten aan het gebruik van niet-originele onderdelen of accessoires die niet zijn aanbevolen door Topcom, worden niet gedekt door de garantie. De garantie dekt geen schade te wijten aan externe factoren, zoals bliksem, water en brand, noch enige transportschade.Er kan geen garantie worden ingeroepen als het serienummer op het toestel is gewijzigd, verwijderd of onleesbaar gemaakt. Garantieclaims zijn ongeldig indien het toestel hersteld, gewijzigd of aangepast werd door de koper of door niet-gekwalificeerde, niet-officieel erkende Topcom-hersteldienst.

3 INSTRUCTIONS DE SÉCURITÉ

3.1 GÉNÉRALITÉS

Veuillez lire attentivement les informations suivantes concernant la sécurité et l’utilisation correcte. Familiarisez-vous avec toutes les fonctions de l’appareil. Conservez ce manuel dans un endroit sûr pour une utilisation ultérieure.

3.2 BRÛLURES

• Lorsqu’une antenne endommagée entre en contact avec la peau, il peut en résulter une légère brûlure en cas de transmission.

• Les piles peuvent causer des dommages et/ou des blessures telles que des brûlures si un matériau conducteur, tel que des bijoux, des clefs ou des chaînes à boulettes, touche des terminaux exposés. Le matériau peut compléter un circuit électrique (court-circuit) et devenir relativement chaud. Veuillez faire attention lors du maniement de piles chargées, particulièrement lorsque vous les placez dans une poche, un sac à mains ou tout autre chose avec des objets en métal..

3.3 SÉCURITÉ PERSONNELLE

• Utilisation en voiture : Ne placez pas votre appareil dans une zone au-dessus d’un airbag ou dans le périmètre de déploiement d’un airbag. Les airbags se gonflent avec beaucoup de force. Si un communicateur est placé dans le périmètre de déploiement d’un airbag et que ce dernier se gonfle, il est possible que le communicateur soit projeté avec une grande force et qu’il occasionne de sérieuses blessures aux occupants du véhicule.

• Conservez la radio à au moins 15 centimètres d’un pacemaker.

Restrictions: Vérifiez les régulations locales avant d’utiliser l’appareil hors du pays où vous l’avez acheté. La norme peut être interdite dans ce pays.

3.4 DANGER D’EMPOISONNEMENT

3.5 LÉGISLATION

• Dans certains pays, il est interdit d’utiliser votre PMR en conduisant un véhicule. Dans ce cas, quittez la route avant d’utiliser l’appareil.

• Mettez votre appareil en position OFF lorsque vous vous trouvez à bord d’un avion quand vous êtes invité à le faire. Toute utilisation de l’appareil doit se faire conformément aux régulations aériennes ou aux instructions de l’équipage de bord.

• Éteignez l’appareil dans les lieux où des pancartes vous invitent à le faire. Les hôpitaux ou les centres de soins de santé utilisent des équipements sensibles à l’énergie RF externe.

• Remplacer ou modifier l’antenne peut affecter les spécifications radio du PMR et violer les règlements CE. Des antennes non autorisées peuvent également endommager la radio.

3.6 NOTES

Ne touchez pas l’antenne en cours de transmission, cela peut affecter la portée. Retirez les piles lorsque l’appareil n’est pas utilisé pendant une longue période.

4 NETTOYAGE ET MAINTENANCE

• Pour nettoyer l’appareil, frottez avec un tissu doux humidifié avec de l’eau. N’utilisez pas un nettoyant ou des solvants sur l’unité ; Ils peuvent endommager le boîtier et pénétrer à l’intérieur, entraînant des dommages permanents.

Laissez ouvert le couvercle du compartiment à piles pendant la nuit ou jusqu’à ce qu’il soit complètement sec. N’utilisez pas l’appareil jusqu’à ce qu’il soit complètement sec.

5 MISE AU REBUS DE L’APPAREIL

Débarrassez-vous de l’appareil et des piles usagées de manière écologique. Ne jetez pas les piles dans les ordures ménagères.

6 UTILISER UN APPAREIL PMR

Pour communiquer, les appareils PMR doivent être réglés sur le même canal et se trouver à portée l’un de l’autre (jusque maximum 3 km en terrain dégagé). Étant donné que ces appareils utilisent des bandes de fréquences libres (canaux), tous les appareils en fonctionnement partagent ces canaux (total 8 canaux). Par conséquent, la vie privée n’est pas garantie. Toute personne possédant un PMR réglé sur votre canal peut entendre la conversation. Si vous souhaitez communiquer (transmettre un signal vocal), vous devez appuyer sur le bouton (Push to talk). Une fois ce bouton enfoncé, l’appareil est en mode transmit et vous pouvez parler dans le microphone. Tous les autres appareils PMR à portée de réception, sur le même canal et en mode stand-by (pas en transmission) entendront votre message. Vous devez attendre jusqu’à ce que l’autre partie arrête de transmettre avant de répondre à son message. À la fin de chaque transmission, l’appareil émet un bip. Pour répondre, il vous suffit d’appuyer sur le bouton et de parler dans le microphone.

7 BIEN DÉBUTER

7.1 ENLEVER / INSTALLER LE CLIP DE CEINTURE

1. Pour enlever le clip de l’appareil, poussez le clip

de ceinture (B) vers l’antenne, tout en tirant sur l’onglet du clip (A).

2. Lorsque vous réinstallez le clip de ceinture, un

clic indique que le clic est verrouillé en position.

7.2 INSTALLATION DES PILES

coulisser le couvercle des batteries dans le sens opposé à l’antenne. (D)

3. Installez la batterie rechargeable en respectant

les polarités indiquées. (E) Assurez-vous que les contacts métalliques sont tournés vers l’extérieur de la radio afin de se connecter au couvercle.

4. Replacez le couvercle des piles et le clip de

ceinture

Note: Au lieu de la batterie fournie, le TT3700 peut être utilisé avec quatre 3xAAA piles rechargeables standard. Respectez la polarité indiquée dans le compartiment à batterie lors de l’installation. Vous ne pouvez pas utiliser le chargeur de bureau avec des piles rechargeables standard AAA.

8 CHARGEMENT DE LA BATTERIE

Lorsque la batterie est installée, le chargeur de bureau assure un chargement aisé.

1. Placez le chargeur de bureau sur une surface plane.

2. Branchez une extrémité de l’adaptateur fourni dans la prise électrique et l’autre dans le connecteur au dos du chargeur de bureau (13).

3. Placez la radio dans le chargeur comme indiqué.

4. La DEL de charge s’allume lorsque l’appareil est placé correctement et est en charge.

Il faut approximativement 8 à 10 heures pour charger complètement les batteries.

FAIBLES

Le NIVEAU DE CHARGE DES PILES est indiqué par le nombre de carrés présents dans l’icône de des piles à l’écran LCD.

Lorsque le NIVEAU DE CHARGE DES PILES est faible, l’icône clignote pour indiquer que les piles doivent être remplacées ou rechargées.

12 UTILISER LE TWINTALKER 3700

12.1 ALLUMER / ÉTEINDRE L’APPAREIL

• Pour l’activer ; Appuyez et maintenez enfoncé . L’appareil émet un "bip" et l’écran LCD affiche le canal actuel.

• Pour le désactiver ; Appuyez de nouveau et maintenez enfoncé . L’appareil émet un "bip" et l’écran LCD s’éteint.

12.2 RÉGLER LE VOLUME DU HAUT-PARLEUR

Le volume du haut-parleur peut être réglé en utilisant les boutons et . Le niveau de volume du haut-parleur est affiché à l’écran LCD.

12.3 RECEVOIR UN SIGNAL

L’appareil est continuellement en mode RÉCEPTION lorsqu’il est allumé et ne transmet pas. Lorsque vous recevez un signal sur le canal courant, l’icône RX s’affiche.

Débarrassez-vous des piles dans un endroit prévu à cet effet et non dans les déchets ménagers. Ne les court-circuitez pas & ne les jetez pas au feu. Enlevez les piles si cet appareil n’est pas utilisé pendant une longue période.

Pour que d’autres personnes reçoivent votre signal, elles doivent sur trouver sur le même canal et disposer du même code CTCSS.

12.4 TRANSMETTRE UN SIGNAL

• Appuyez et maintenez enfoncé le bouton pour transmettre.

• Tenez l’appareil en position verticale en maintenant le microphone à 10 cm de votre bouche et parlez dans le microphone.

• Relâchez le bouton lorsque vous avez fini de transmettre.

12.5 CHANGER DE CANAL

Le PMR dispose de 8 canaux. Pour changer de canal :

• Appuyez une fois sur , le numéro de canal actuel clignote sur l’écran LCD.

• Appuyez sur ou sur pour changer de canal.

• Appuyez sur pour confirmer la sélection et revenir au mode NORMAL.

• Pour confirmer et passer à l’option suivante, appuyez sur .

Note : Tout PMR branché sur le même canal peut entendre et écouter la conversation, également lorsque l’autre utilise un code CTCSS.

12.6 CTCSS (CONTINUOUS TONE CODED SQUELCH SYSTEM)

Le code CTCSS à deux chiffres correspond à une fréquence de tonalité spécifique émise par le PMR. Deux utilisateurs sur le même canal et disposant du même code CTCSS peuvent s’entendre l’un l’autre. Ils n’entendront pas d’autres personnes sur le canal à moins que les autres radios n’aient activé le même code CTCSS.

38 codes CTCSS sont disponibles.

• Appuyez 4 fois sur , le code CTCSS clignote.

• Appuyez sur ou sur pour sélectionner un autre code.

• Appuyez sur pour confirmer votre sélection et revenir en mode NORMAL.

• Pour confirmer et passer à l’option suivante, appuyez sur .

Note: Tout PMR branché sur le même canal peut entendre et écouter la conversation, également lorsque l’autre utilise un code CTCSS.

12.7 MONITOR

Utilisez la fonction monitor pour vérifier la présence de signaux plus faibles sur le canal actuel.

• Appuyez sur et simultanément pour activer la fonction de monitoring.

• Appuyez sur pour arrêter le monitoring.

12.8 SÉLECTION VOX

Le PMR est capable de transmettre par activation vocale (VOX). En mode VOX, la radio transmet un signal lorsqu’elle est activée par votre voix ou un autre son proche de vous. Le

mode VOX n’est pas recommandé si vous prévoyez d’utiliser votre radio dans un environnement bruyant ou venteux.

• Appuyez trois fois sur le bouton .

• Appuyez sur le bouton pour activer l’option VOX et appuyez sur pour sélectionner le niveau de sensibilité VOX qui est indiqué dans le coin droit de l’écran. Appuyez sur le bouton jusqu’à ce que OF apparaisse à l’écran, pour désactiver la fonction VOX.

• En mode VOX, l’icône VX est affichée.

• Pour confirmer votre sélection et revenir en mode NORMAL, appuyez sur le bouton .

12.9 BALAYAGE DE CANAUX (CHANNEL SCAN)

Le balayage de canaux effectue des recherches de signaux actifs dans une boucle infinie de 1 à 8.

• Appuyez et maintenez enfoncé . Appuyez brièvement sur pour lancer le scannage.

• Relâchez les boutons.

• Lorsqu’un signal actif est détecté (un des 8 canaux), le BALAYAGE DE CANAUX fait une pause et vous entendrez le signal actif.

• Appuyez sur pour communiquer par le biais de ce signal actif. Appuyez sur pour désactiver le balayage de canaux.

Lorsqu’un signal actif est détecté (un des 8 canaux), appuyez sur le bouton ou pour passer le canal courant et poursuivre la recherche d’un autre canal actif.

12.10 TONALITÉS D’APPEL

Une tonalité d’appel alerte les autres que vous souhaitez parler.

a. Régler la tonalité d’appel

5 tonalités d’appel différentes peuvent être sélectionnées.

• Appuyez deux fois sur . CA s’affiche.

• Appuyez sur ou sur pour sélectionner une autre tonalité d’appel ou sélectionnez OF pour désactiver les tonalités d’appel.

• Appuyez sur pour confirmer votre sélection et revenir en mode stand-by.

b. Envoyer une tonalité d’appel Appuyez brièvement sur . La tonalité d’appel sera transmise pendant 3 secondes sur le canal réglé.

12.11 BIP ROGER ON/OFF

Une fois le bouton relâché, l’appareil émet un bip roger pour confirmer que vous avez fini de parler.

12.13 FONCTION DUAL CHANNEL MONITOR

En mode stand-by, le PMR est réglé sur un canal avec code CTCSS. Le PMR reçoit uniquement les signaux transmis sur ce canal avec le CTCSS. La fonction Dual Channel Monitor vous permet de surveiller un second canal avec un code CTCSS.

• Appuyez 7 fois sur le bouton , DCM apparaît à l’écran.

• Appuyez sur le bouton ou pour changer le canal.

• Appuyez sur le bouton pour confirmer la sélection du canal et aller à la CTCSS SUB-CHANNEL SELECTION

• Appuyez sur le bouton ou pour changer le CTCSS.

• Appuyez sur le bouton pour confirmer.

Pour désactiver la fonction, sélectionnez le canal ’O’ .

Lorsque la fonction Dual Channel Monitor est activée, le PMR passe séquentiellement entre le canal en stand-by + CTCSS et le Dual Channel + CTCSS.

12.14 VERROUILLAGE DES BOUTONS

• Appuyez et maintenez enfoncé le bouton pendant 3 secondes pour activer ou désactiver le mode BUTTON LOCK. Le symbole de verrouillage apparaît à l’écran.

• Appuyez et maintenez enfoncé le bouton pour désactiver le verrouillage.

12.15 CHRONOMÈTRE

• Appuyer pendant 3 secondes pour selectionner le mode chromomètre

• Appuyer pour lancer le chromomètre

12.16 CONNEXION CASQUE

Le Twintalker 3700 peut être utilisé avec un casque avec microphone et haut-parleur externe. Le connecteur est situé sous le caoutchouc protecteur au dessus de l’appareil. Pour connecter le casque haut-parleur/microphone externe ou l’oreillette, soulevez le caoutchouc au-dessus de l’appareil pour exposer le connecteur. Insérez la fiche appropriée dans le connecteur.
