Please read the operating instructions carefully and keep them in a safe place for future reference. Pass the operating instructions on to the buyer when selling the product. The device is designed to receive DAB+/ FM radio programmes. It can receive and play music streams via the Internet and Bluetooth with a paired device. The device is designed for private (non­commercial) or comparable use. Any other use is considered "not intended"!

The operating instructions are intended for any person who sets up, operates, cleans or disposes of the appliance.

Please observe the following instructions to minimise safety risks, avoid damage to the appliance and contribute to environmental protection. Please read all safety instructions carefully and keep them for future reference. Always follow all warnings and instructions in this quick guide, the operating instructions and on the back of the appliance.

Waste disposal
The packaging of your appliance consists exclusively of recyclable materials. Please sort them accordingly and return them to the "Dual System". This product is labelled in accordance with Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and must not be disposed of with normal household waste at the end of its service life, but must be handed in at a collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment.

Connecting and operating the device
4.1
Scope of delivery
The scope of delivery includes 1x DIGITRADIO 143, 1x operating instructions, 1x remote control + remote control, antenna for DAB+/UKW, WLAN antenna
4.2
Insert

Slide open the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control. Insert two "AAA" (Micro) size 1.5 V batteries into the battery compartment, observing the specified polarity. Batteries included in the scope of delivery.
>
Carefully close the BaGerie compartment lid again until the lid clicks into place.
Replace weakening BaGeries in good time.

Always replace both BaGerien at the same time and use BaGerien of the same type.

Leaking BaGeries can cause damage to the remote control.

If the appliance will not be used for a longer period of time, remove the batteries from the remote control.

Connection

For connection to an A/V amplifier or a stereo system, the audio outputs Audio-Out Analogue (17, 18), Optical-Out Digital (19) or Coaxial-Out Digital (20) are available on the rear of the device.

Connect the supplied antenna to the antenna connection (21).

Set up the WLAN antenna (16).

Then plug the mains cable into a 110-240V ~ 50/60Hz mains socket.

Switch on

To switch on the DIGITRADIO 143, press the volume/ rotary control on the device (14) or on the remote control (14).

Source selection

Press the MODE button on the device (4) or on the remote control (8) several times to switch through the available sources.

Open the submenu of the current source by pressing the MENU button and select > Main menu. The
currently selected source is shown on the display.

Turn the volume/ rotary control (14) on the device to the right or press the VOL+ button (23) on the remote control to increase the volume. Turn the volume/ rotary control (14) on the device to the left or press the VOL-
button (10) on the remote control to decrease the volume.

Operation
The menu is divided into the main menu, the submenu of the currently selected source and the system settings, which apply to all sources. The menu is operated using the TUNING/OK rotary control (13) on the device or using the up/down arrow buttons (22, 24) and the OK button (9) on the remote control.

To open the submenu of the currently selected source, press the INFO/MENU button on the device or MENU on the remote control (press and hold the INFO/MENU button on the device until the menu is displayed).
The submenu of the currently selected source contains source-specific settings and options. From here, you can also access the >Main menu and the >System settings.
>
You can change the marking by turning the TUNING/OK knob to the right and left or by pressing the Move the arrow buttons ▲ or ▼ on the remote control up and down.
>
You can confirm a selection by pressing the TUNING/OK rotary control or the OK button on the remote control. If a value has been changed, it is saved by pressing the TUNING/OK rotary control or the OK button. If there is an arrow (>) next to a menu entry, you can access further settings or functions by pressing the TUNING/OK rotary control or the OK button.

Press the MENU button to exit the menu. Depending on which submenu or option you are in, you may have to press the MENU button several times.

If you want to cancel a setting without saving, press the MENU button or alternatively the BACK button (7) on the remote control.

Initial setup
After switching on the DIGITRADIO 143 for the first time, the initial setup wizard starts.
Any settings can also be changed at a later date at any time.

In the first step, select the menu language of the DIGITRADIO 143 using the arrow buttons up/down on the remote control and confirm your selection with the OK button.
>
Confirm the privacy policy with the OK button.
>
Now select [YES] to start the initial setup. You can now select the time format. Select the desired setting [12] or [24] and press the OK button to go to the next step.
>
Here you can select the source (DAB+, FM or Internet) from which the DIGITRADIO 143 obtains and updates the time and date. Once you have made your selection, enter the time zone in the next step so that the time is displayed correctly (if updating via the Internet has been selected). Then specify whether summer time or winter time is current at the time of setting (only when updating via the Internet).

The network wizard then starts and you can set up an Internet connection. Select the Wi-Fi network you know by pressing the OK button, select [Skip WPS] and enter the corresponding password using the keyboard that appears. Internet radio and podcasts
The DIGITRADIO 143 is equipped with an Internet radio receiver. To be able to receive Internet radio stations/transmitters or podcasts, you need an Internet connection to a wireless network. You can read how to set up an Internet connection in chapter 14.2.

Press the MODE button until [Internet Radio] or [Podcasts] appears on the display.
Alternatively:

Press the MENU button and then select > Internet Radio or Podcasts in the main menu. If you are
in a submenu, select the main menu as described under point 4.7.
If you start Internet radio/podcast operation for the first time without a Wi-Fi connection having b e e n configured during the initial installation, the search assistant will appear and show you all Wi-Fi stations within range. Select the Wi-Fi network you
know by pressing OK and enter the corresponding password using the keypad that appears. Then select and press the OK button. If the password was correct, a connection to this network will now be established. You can see
whether a connection is established by the signal bar in the status bar of the display. To cancel the entry, select

The favourites memory can store up to 30 stations.
The stored transmitters are retained even in the event of a power failure.
Set the desired channel.
Press and hold the PRESET button until [Save favourite] appears on the display. You can now use the up/down arrow buttons to select one of 30 favourite memory locations. To save the station, press the OK button when the highlight is on the desired favourite memory location. Saved] appears on the display.

The DAB+ function
DAB+ is a digital format that allows you to listen to crystal-clear sound without noise. Unlike conventional analogue radio stations, DAB+ broadcasts several stations on the same frequency. You can f i n d more information at www.dabplus.de or
www.dabplus.ch, for example.
8.1
DAB+

Press the MODE button until [DAB+ Radio] appears on the display. Alternatively:

Press the MENU button and then select > DAB+ in the main menu.
If you are in a submenu, first select the main menu as described in section 4.7.
When DAB+ is started for the first time, a complete station search is carried out. The station list is then displayed (see point 8.3).
8.2
Perform
>

The automatic scan [Full scan] scans all DAB+ Band III channels and thus finds all stations broadcast in the reception area.
Once the search is complete, the first station is played in alphanumeric order.
To perform a complete search, press the SCAN button. The display shows [Scan] and the search starts. The progress bar shows the search progress and the stations already found.
After completion, press ▲ or ▼ and OK to select a channel. Alternatively:

Audio input
You can play the sound of an external device via the DIGITRADIO 143.

Connect the external device to the audio input (18) of the DIGITRADIO 143.

To optimise the volume, use both the volume control on the radio and on the connected device.
Please note that if the volume setting of the connected device is very low and the volume setting of the radio is correspondingly higher, disturbing noises/noise are amplified more and can therefore be heard more clearly. We recommend setting the volume of the DIGITRADIO 143 to a DAB+ or FM station, for example, switching to the audio input and then adjusting the volume of the connected device so that the overall volume of the audio input corresponds approximately to the volume of the DAB+/FM station. In this way, you can also avoid large volume differences when switching between the functions of the DIGITRADIO 143.

Supported music files (MP3) on a USB mass storage device can be played on the DIGITRADIO 143. To do this, plug the USB mass storage device, e.g. a USB stick, into the USB socket (3) on the front of the DIGITRADIO 143.

The sleep timer allows you to switch the DIGITRADIO 143 to standby automatically after a preset time.

You can only use the alarm function once the correct time has been set. Depending on the configuration, this is done automatically or must be set manually. The time can either be set manually or updated automatically via DAB FM or the Internet. Further information on this can be found under point 14.3.

Do not listen to music at high volume through headphones. This can lead to permanent hearing damage. Before using headphones, set the device volume to the minimum level.

Enter the IP address, subnet mask, gateway address, primary DNS and, if necessary, secondary DNS one after the other using the arrow buttons on the remote control. Confirm each set value with the OK button.
Now enter the name (SSID) of your WLAN network using the virtual keyboard and confirm by selecting OK.
Select whether your WLAN network is Open, WEP or WPA/WPA2 encrypted and confirm the following point.

SoŁware
Software updates may be provided from time to time, which may contain improvements or bug fixes. The DIGITRADIO is therefore always up to date.
