Introduction
Read this manual thoroughly before using the
product, and keep it handy for future reference.
The TT-M1 is a special controller for the TASCAM CD-X series of CD players (hereafter
referred to as CD-X). When a record player
equipped with the TT-M1 is being used to conduct scratching, the controller detects the
turntable's rotating direction and speed and transfers them to the CD-X. The CD-X then plays
back the scratching on a CD with great accuracy.
• The names of the companies and products that
appear in this document are the trademarks or
registered trademarks of their respective holders.
• Do not connect the product to any equipment
other than the CD-X.
• This product is powered by the CD-X unit.
When the product is not in use, always turn off
the POWER switch and raise the roller to an
upright position.

Attach adapter T2 to mounting hole T2 and insert
the TT-M1 into the dust cover holder.

Attach adapter V to mounting hole T3 on the
back of the base unit, and insert the TT-M1 into
the headshell stand.

Attach adapter N to mounting hole N on the back
of the base unit, and insert the TT-M1 into the
headshell stand.
Installation
The TT-M1 can be attached to the following
record players using accessory adapters. Install
the adapter in the specified position on the base
unit and then affix the product to the record player.

If you want to install the TT-M1 on models other
than these, fix it in place with double-sided tape
or by other means.

Attach adapter V to mounting hole V on the back
of the base unit, and adapter T2 to mounting hole
T2 on the top surface. Install the TT-M1 by
inserting adapter V into the headshell stand and
placing adapter T2 on the dust cover holder.

3 Adjust the height so that the roller is posi-
tioned horizontally on the turntable.
Adjustment
Adjust the vertical and horizontal positions of the
TT-M1 as follows. Note that a record does not
have to be placed on the turntable.
1 Lower the roller onto the turntable.

Align these lines with each other.
4 Move the product to the left and right in
order to align the axis of the roller with the
center of the turntable. Use the guides at the
base of the roller.

5 When the product is properly adjusted, tight-
en the mounting screw securely.

Connection
• Be sure to turn off the CD-X unit before connecting the TT-M1 to the CD-X.
On the rear panel of the CD-X, an ACCESSORY
terminal is provided for each of the two CD
drives. Connect the TT-M1 cable to the desired
terminal. Orient the cable connector so that the
arrow is located on the upper side of the connector.
1 Turn on the CD-X.
2Lower the TT-M1 roller onto the turntable
and press the POWER switch.
•A record does not have to be placed on the
turntable.
The LED comes on and the following is displayed on the CD-X's remote controller:
3 Turn the turntable on to rotate at 33 rpm.
Calibration
The TT-M1 must be calibrated to accurately
detect the turntable's rotating speed.
• As the calibration results are saved to the CDX unit, the product is only required to be calibrated once after it is installed to the player.
However, when the product is re-installed, it
must be calibrated again.
•The calibration results are saved for each CD
drive. When two TT-M1 units are connected
to the CD-X, perform calibration on a drive
basis. Calibration is also required when a TTM1 that was connected to one drive is re-connected to another drive.

controller while pressing and holding down
the SHIFT key.
Calibration begins and the following is displayed on the remote controller:
5 Calibration is completed in five seconds and
the following is displayed on the CD-X's
remote controller. The normal display is then
resumed momentarily:

Scratch PlaybackOperation Modes
The TT-M1 has two operation modes: the
turntable mode and the scratch mode.
To switch these operation modes, press the
SCRATCH key on the CD-X's remote controller.
The TT-M1 is in the turntable mode when the
SCRATCH key is turned off, and it is in the
scratch mode when the key is lit up.
Turntable mode (SCRATCH key: off)
All the transport control of the CD-X is performed on the TT-M1 (turntable). Track
searching, locating to the CUE and CUE 1-3
points, and the flash start function can also be
operated from the CD-X's remote controller.
Scratch mode (SCRATCH key: on)
In addition to the operations in the turntable
mode, the transport control of the CD-X can
be performed with the CD-X's remote controller when the turntable is stopped.
1 Turn on the CD-X and load a CD.
2Lower the TT-M1 roller onto the turntable
and press the POWER switch.
•A record does not have to be placed on the
turntable.
The LED comes on and the following is displayed on the CD-X's remote controller:
3 Turn the turntable on to rotate at 33 rpm.
4 Switch the operation modes by pressing the
SCRATCH key on the CD-X's remote controller.
5 Play the desired tune on the CD-X and con-
duct scratching on the record player.
6 To stop scratch playback, stop playing the
CD and rotating the turntable.
If CDs are played too slowly or too quickly
• Is the pitch control of the record player set to
the normal position?
• Has the TT-M1 been calibrated?

Le TT-M1 est un contrôleur spécial pour la
gamme CD-X de lecteurs de CD TASCAM (que
nous nommerons dorénavant CD-X). Quand une
platine tourne-disque équipée du TT-M1 est
employée pour faire du scratch, le contrôleur
détecte la direction et la vitesse de rotation de la
platine et les transfère au CD-X. Le CD-X
effectue alors le scratch sur le CD avec une
grande précision.
• Les noms des entreprises et des produits qui

• Ne connectez pas ce produit à un autre
équipement qu'un CD-X.
• Ce produit est alimenté par l'unité CD-X.
Quand il n'est pas employé, coupez toujours
l'alimentation avec l'interrupteur POWER et
relevez le galet en position haute.

Attachez l'adaptateur T2 à l'orifice de montage
T2 et insérez le TT-M1 dans le porte-capot.

Fixez l'adaptateur V dans l'orifice de montage T3
au dos de l'unité de base, et insérez le TT-M1
dans la coquille porte-cellule.

Fixez l'adaptateur N dans l'orifice de montage N
au dos de l'unité de base, et insérez le TT-M1
dans la coquille porte-cellule.
Installation
Le TT-M1 peut être monté sur les platines
tourne-disque suivantes à l'aide d'adaptateurs.
Installez l'adaptateur sur l'unité de base dans la
position spécifiée puis fixez le tout sur la platine.

Si vous désirez installer le TT-M1 sur d'autres
modèles que ceux-ci, fixez-le en place avec de
l'adhésif double face ou par d'autres moyens.

Fixez l'adaptateur V à l'orifice de montage V au
dos de l'unité de base, et l'adaptateur T2 à l'orifice de montage T2 en face supérieure. Installez
le TT-M1 en insérant l'adaptateur V dans la
coquille porte-cellule et en plaçant l'adaptateur
T2 dans le porte-capot.
2 Déserrez la vis de montage.

3 Ajustez la hauteur pour que le galet soit posi-
tionné horizontalement sur la platine.
Réglage
Réglez comme suit la position, verticale et horizontale, du TT-M1. Notez qu'il n'est pas
nécessaire de placer un disque sur la platine:
1 Baissez le galet sur la platine.

Alignez ces lignes entre elles.
4 Déplacez le produit sur la gauche et la droite
pour aligner l'axe du galet avec le centre de la
platine. Utilisez les guides à la base du galet.

5 Quand le produit est correctement réglé, ser-
rez la vis de montage.

Connexion
• Veillez à éteindre l'unité CD-X avant de connecter le TT-M1 au CD-X.
A l'arrière du CD-X, une prise ACCESSORY est
destinée à chacun des deux lecteurs de CD.
Connectez le câble du TT-M1 à la prise désirée.
Orientez le connecteur du câble pour que la
flèche soit du côté supérieur du connecteur.
1 Mettez le CD-X sous tension.
2Baissez le galet du TT-M1 sur la platine et
pressez le commutateur POWER.
• Il n'est pas nécessaire de placer un disque sur
la platine.
La diode (témoin) s'allume et la
télécommande du CD-X affiche:
3 Mettez la platine en route pour la faire tour-
ner à 33 tpm.
Calibrage
Le TT-M1 doit être calibré pour détecter
fidèlement la vitesse de rotation de la platine.
• Comme les résultats du calibrage sont conservés dans l'unité CD-X, le produit ne doit
être calibré qu'une fois après son installation
sur le lecteur. Toutefois, quand le produit est
ré-installé, il doit de nouveau être calibré.
• Les résultats du calibrage sont enregistrés pour
chaque lecteur de CD. Quand deux unités TTM1 sont connectées au CD-X, effectuez le calibrage par lecteur. Le calibrage est aussi
nécessaire quand un TT-M1 ayant été connecté
à un lecteur est re-connecté à un autre lecteur.

4 Pressez la touche
du CD-X tout en pressant et en gardant
enfoncée la touche SHIFT.
Le calibrage commence et la télécommande

5 Le calibrage s'effectue en cinq secondes et
l'affichage de la télécommande du CD-X est
le suivant. L'affichage normal revient ensuite:

Le TT-M1 a deux modes de fonctionnement: le
mode platine et le mode scratch.
Pour passer de l'un à l'autre, pressez la touche
SCRATCH sur la télécommande du CD-X.
Le TT-M1 est en mode platine quand la touche
SCRATCH est éteinte et en mode scratch quand
elle est allumée.
Mode platine (touche SCRATCH: éteinte)
Toutes les commandes de transport du CD-X
se font sur le TT-M1 (platine tourne-disque).
La recherche de plage, l'accès aux points
CUE et CUE 1-3, et la fonction de démarrage
instantané peuvent aussi être pilotés depuis la
télécommande du CD-X.
Mode Scratch (touche SCRATCH: allumée)
En plus du pilotage en mode platine, les commandes de transport du CD-X sont accessibles par la télécommande du CD-X quand la
platine est arrêtée.
1 Mettez le CD-X sous tension et chargez un
CD.
2Baissez le galet du TT-M1 sur la platine et
pressez le commutateur POWER.
• Il n'est pas nécessaire de placer un disque sur
la platine.
La diode (témoin) s'allume et la
télécommande du CD-X affiche:
3 Mettez la platine en route pour la faire tour-
ner à 33 tpm.
4 Changez de mode de fonctionnement en pres-
sant la touche SCRATCH sur la
télécommande du CD-X.
5 Faites reproduire le morceau désiré sur le
CD-X et effectuez le scratch sur la platine
tourne-disque.
6 Pour stopper la lecture scratch, stoppez la
lecture du CD et la rotation de la platine.
Si les CD sont lus trop lentement ou trop vite
• La commande de hauteur (pitch) de la platine
tourne-disque est-elle en position normale?
• Le TT-M1 a-t-il été calibré?
