322 Quick Start guide
This Quick Start Guide is intended to help you use some of the functions of the 322 which may be unfamiliar to you.
Dubbing between decks 1 and 2
The 322 allows you to copy material between its two decks at either normal or high speed (double speed).

Load the source cassette into Deck 1 and the target into deck 2. Locate to the appropriate position on both tapes. Use the appropriate to help you.

2 Set the 322 to dub either on one side (Ä) or both (ä)

Continuous playback using both decks
One of the useful features of the 322 is the ability to play back continuously, using both decks, allowing long programs of background music to be played back using only one unit.

Both decks can share one set of outputs, or each deck can

use separate outputs. For separate outputs, make separate connections to different amplifier/speaker systems. For shared outputs, use Deck 1’s outputs. Set the put) or

3 Load a tape into both decks. Select the appropriate Dolby
setting for each deck.
4 Press PLAY on Deck 1.
Playback starts at the start of Deck 1’s tape and goes on to the end. Reverse playback then continues from the end of Deck 1’s tape, to the start of the tape. Playback then starts at the start of Deck 2’s tape and goes on to the end. Reverse playback continues from the end of Deck 2’s tape, to the start of the tape. This sequence is repeated.
5 Press STOP (either Deck 1 or Deck 2) to stop the continu-
ous playback.

Recording on both decks at the same time
Another useful feature of the 322 is ability of both decks to record at the same time from a single source or sequential recording from a single source. The instructions below tell you how to record the same program on two tapes at the same time.

Connect the source to the DECK 1 INPUT connectors.

Insert the tapes into the decks. Make the appropriate Dolby settings.

Dubbing using two 322 units
This example shows how to “cascade” two 322 units and produce copies from the master 322 in the chain.

2 Connect the EXT CONTROL OUT of each machine to the
EXT CONTROL IN of the other.
3 Set the OFF/SLV/MSTR switch of the master to MSTR,
and the Insert the master tape into Deck 1 of the master and the slave tapes into Deck 2 of the master, and Decks 1 and 2 of the slave. Locate the tapes to the appropriate positions.
