When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed
including the following:

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE

• Use iron only for its intended use.

• To protect against risk of electric shock, do not immerse the iron in water or other liquids.

•

The iron should always be set to the off position with the fabric setting button before
plugging and unplugging. Never yank cord to disconnect from outlet; instead, grasp plug
and pull to disconnect.

• Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let iron cool completely before putting away.
Loop cord loosely around iron when storing.

• Always disconnect iron from electrical outlet when filling with water or emptying and
when not in use.

• Do not operate iron with a damaged cord or if the iron has been dropped or damaged.
To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble the iron. Take it to an authorized
service center for examination and/or repair. Incorrect reassembly can cause a risk of
electric shock when the iron is used.

• Close supervision is necessary for any appliance being used by or near children.
Do not leave iron unattended while plugged in or turned on or on an ironing board.

• Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water or steam. Use caution

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

• This is a 1500-Watt appliance. To avoid a circuit overload, do not operate another
high wattage appliance on the same circuit.

• If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a 15-ampere cord should be used. Cords rated
for less amperage may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the extension cord so that
it cannot be pulled or tripped over.

TO FILL THE WATER RESERVOIR

1. Make sure the iron is unplugged.

2. Lift the Water Fill Hole Cover.

3. Fill water cup with water. Pour water into iron
water reservoir. Do not fill water reservoir beyond
maximum fill level.

WARNING:

To prevent the risk of burns, be careful
when filling a hot iron with water. Hot metal parts, hot
water and steam can cause injuries.

SELECTING FABRIC SETTINGS

To select a fabric setting, press the Fabric Select buttons
(▲▼) until the desired fabric lights up (Figure A). The
Wait/Ready light will change from red to green when
the iron is ready to use.

NOTE:

When using the Steam Function, the iron will
automatically adjust the steam to match the fabric selec­tion.

DRY IRONING

1. Plug the cord into a 120-Volt AC outlet.

2. Select Fabric Setting.

3. Press the Steam Off button.

1. Follow the instructions for “To fill the Water Reservoir”.

2. Plug the cord into a 120-Volt AC outlet.

3. Select Fabric Setting.

4. When the green ready light turns on press the Steam
On button.

USING THE IRON’S SPECIAL FEATURES

TURBO STEAM™FEATURE

The Turbo Steam™ feature allows the iron to function as a powerful
garment steamer. It can provide continuous pulsating steam for up to
10 minutes and can be used horizontally or vertically. Turbo Steam is
ideal for steaming wrinkles out of delicate clothing, hanging garments
and draperies.

To use Turbo Steam™:

1. Fill the water reservoir to the max fill line.

2. Hold the iron, either horizontally and iron normally or
|vertically, close to but not touching the fabric or garment
to be steamed.

3. Using your free hand, keep the fabric pulled tight.

4. Press the Turbo Steam™ button once to turn the Turbo Steam™
feature on. Press the button again to turn it off. Turbo Steam will
not turn on while in SYN or SILK fabric settings.

5. The Turbo Steam™ feature will start once the iron reaches
maximum temperature.

SHOT OF STEAM®/ VERTICAL STEAM FEATURE

The Shot of Steam®/ Vertical Steam feature provides an extra
burst of steam for deep penetration of stubborn wrinkles. You can
use this feature while Dry or Steam ironing, but the water reser­voir must be above the Refill line.

To use the Shot of Steam®/ Vertical Steam Feature:

To reset the iron:

• Move the iron back and forth. The Off Light will stop
blinking and the iron will start heating again.

STORAGE STRIP™INDICATOR

The Storage Strip™ indicator is an easy way to see when
the iron is cool enough to store.

To use the Storage Strip™ Indicator:

Turn iron on. In approximately 3 minutes, the Storage
Strip™ indicator will turn from black to red, indicating
that the iron is too hot to store. When the iron is turned
off, it will take the iron approximately 55-65 minutes for
the Storage Strip™ indicator to turn from red to black, in­dicating that the iron is cool enough to store.

ANTI-CALCIUM SYSTEM

The Anti-Calcium System is a permanent system located
inside the water reservoir. This system removes calcium
from the water and reduces calcium build-up on the sole­plate.

DRIP-FREE

Produces steam without any dripping, spitting, or leaking
through the soleplate, even at low temperatures.

EMPTY WATER MODE

When the water in the reservoir is low, the water-level sen­sor will emit two short beeps then one longer beep. The
iron will automatically switch to Steam OFF mode, and
the Steam LED light will turn off.

1. To refill and reset the sensor, fill the water reservoir
with water, then press either the Turbo Steam™, Shot
of Steam

Storing Your Iron

1. Allow the iron to cool.

2. If you do not use your iron on a daily basis, empty the water
reservoir after each use for a longer iron life. To do so, unplug
the iron, turn the iron upside down, open the fill hole cover,
and allow water to flow from the fill hole. Shake the iron gen­tly to remove trapped water drops.

3. Loosely loop the power cord around the heel rest and store
the iron on its heel rest.

MAINTAINING YOUR TURBO STEAM™IRON

CLEANING THE SOLEPLATE

Clean the soleplate if starch or other residue accumulates.

To clean the Soleplate:

1. Unplug the iron. Allow the iron to cool and then wipe it
with a soft, damp cloth.

WARNING: DO NOT

2. Run the iron over an all-cotton cloth to remove any residue.

USING THE SELF-CLEAN FEATURE

You should use the Self-Clean feature once a month to maintain
the optimal performance of your iron.

To use the Self-Clean feature:

1. Fill the water reservoir with tap water to the MAX line.

2. Plug in the iron and press Fabric Select button to Linen. Allow
the iron to heat until the Wait/Ready Light turns GREEN.

3. Unplug the iron.

4. Hold the iron over a sink in a horizontal position.

WARNING:

5. Press the Self-Clean button and hold. Water will begin
dripping from the steam vents. Slowly rock the iron side to
side and front to back for 30 seconds. When rocking the
iron, dip the nose of the iron slightly below the rear of the
iron to make certain the water circulates completely.

6. Turn the iron upside down and allow the remaining water to
flow out of the fill hole.

7. Dry the soleplate with a towel.

8. Plug in the iron and press Fabric Select button to Linen. Let
the iron heat until the button turns GREEN and dry out the
iron completely.

9. Press the Fabric Select button to Off. The light will go out,
indicating that the iron has turned itself off. Unplug the iron
and allow it to cool.

Be careful not to touch the iron’s hot surfaces.

CLEANING THE ANTI-CALCIUM SYSTEM

The Turbo Steam™ iron houses an Anti-Calcium filter in the
reservoir, which eliminates impurities from the water.

To prolong the efficiency of this filter:

1. Unplug the iron and allow it to cool.

2. Locate the water cup that accompanied the iron and fill it
with water. Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the water and fill the
water reservoir with this solution.

3. Leavethe solutioninthewaterreservoirfor15minutes, thenemptyit.

4. Fill the water reservoir a second time with the salt water
solution and empty it again after 15 minutes.

5. Fill the tank with fresh water to rinse and empty.

The Anti-Calcium System should be cleaned approximately once
a month.

• Always read garment labels and follow the manufacturer’s ironing instructions.

• Sort the articles to be ironed according to the type of fabric.

• You should first iron garments requiring low temperature
(e.g., silks and synthetics) to avoid damaging them with an iron that is too hot.

• If you are unsure of the fabric content of the garment, test a small area,
such as a seam or facing, before ironing a visible area. Start with a low
temperature and gradually increase the heat to find the best setting.

• When changing the temperature from a high setting to a low setting, allow
approximately 5 minutes for the lower temperature to be reached.

• When steam ironing, use long, slow passes over the fabric. This will allow
the steam to penetrate the fabric while allowing the heat of the soleplate
to dry out the moisture.

• To iron linens, turn garment inside out. Be careful not to use an iron
that is too hot because the lining may melt or stick to the soleplate.

• To iron zippers, use an ironing cloth or make sure the zipper is closed
and iron over the flap. Never iron directly over an unprotected zipper.

• Use the Ironing Guide to select the best setting and method for the fabric
you plan to iron.

free from defects in material and workmanship. JCS, at its option, will repair or replace this

is no longer available, replacement may be made with a similar product of equal or greater
value. This is your exclusive warranty. Do NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or
mechanical functions on this product. Doing so will void this warranty.

This warranty is valid for the original retail purchaser from the date of initial retail purchase
and is not transferable. Keep the original sales receipt. Proof of purchase is required to obtain
warranty performance. JCS dealers, service centers, or retail stores selling JCS products do not
have the right to alter, modify or any way change the terms and conditions of this warranty.

This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from any of the follow­ing: negligent use or misuse of the product, use on improper voltage or current, use contrary to
the operating instructions, disassembly, repair or alteration by anyone other than JCS or an au­thorized JCS service center. Further, the warranty does not cover: Acts of God, such as fire,
flood, hurricanes and tornadoes.

What are the limits on JCS’s Liability?

JCS shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages caused by the breach of any
express, implied or statutory warranty or condition.

Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, any implied warranty or condition of mer­chantability or fitness for a particular purpose is limited in duration to the duration of the
above warranty.

JCS disclaims all other warranties, conditions or representations, express, implied, statutory or
otherwise.

JCS shall not be liable for any damages of any kind resulting from the purchase, use or misuse

USO DE LAS FUNCIONES ESPECIALES

DE LA PLANCHA

FUNCIÓN TURBO STEAM™

La función Turbo Steam™ permite que la plancha funcione como
un potente vaporizador para ropa. Puede proporcionar el vapor
pulsante y continuo por hasta 10 minutos y se puede usar en la
posición horizontal o vertical. Turbo Steam es ideal para eliminar
las arrugas de ropa delicada, trajes que estén colgados y de
cortinajes con vapor.

Para usar Turbo Steam™:

1. Llene el tanque de agua hasta el nivel máximo.

2. Sostenga la plancha horizontalmente y planche normalmente,
o bien, manténgala verticalmente cerca, pero sin tocar la tela
o traje que desea vaporizar.

3. Use su mano libre para mantener estirada la tela.

4. Presione una vez el botón Turbo Steam™ para encender la
función Turbo Steam™. Vuelva a presionar el botón para
apagarla. La plancha Turbo Steam no prenderá mientras la
selección de tela esté en SYN (sintética) o SILK (seda).

5. La función Turbo Steam™ se activará una vez que la plancha
alcance la temperatura máxima.

IMPORTANTE: La acción de bombeo de la función Turbo
Steam™ puede causar que la plancha vibre levemente al usarla.

FUNCION GOLPE DE VAPOR/VAPOR VERTICAL

La función Golpe de Vapor/Vapor Vertical brinda un chorro
adicional de vapor para lograr una mayor penetración en arrugas
más profundas. Usted puede usar esta función mientras esté
planchando en seco o con vapor, pero el nivel de agua en el
tanque debe estar por encima de la marca «Rellenar» (Refill).

Para usar la característica Golpe de Vapor/Vapor Vertical:

Coloque la plancha encima de la arruga y presione el botón
Golpe de Vapor cada vez que desee tener un chorro adicional de
vapor. La función Golpe de Vapor se puede usar continuamente
con solo una breve pausa entre chorros tanto en posición hori­zontal como vertical.

ADVERTENCIA: Para evitar riesgos de quemaduras, mante nga
su mano alejada del área que esté recibiendo
el vapor.

• En una posición vertical (o en su posición de descanso) sin
moverla, la plancha se apagará automáticamente después de
15 minutos. El indicador de Apagado Automatico (Off)
parpadeará continuamente para avisarle que la plancha ha
dejado de calentarse.

Para reactivar la plancha:

• Muévala hacia adelante y atrás. El indicador de Apagado
Automatico (Off) dejará de parpadear y la plancha volverá a
calentarse nuevamente.

IMPORTANTE: El indicador de Apagado Automatico (Off)
parpadeará durante 5 minutos después de activarse el apagado
automático. La plancha se apagará completamente. La plancha
se apagará completamente y no estará iluminada ninguna luz.

INDICADOR DE ALMACENAMIENTO STORAGE STRIP™

El indicador de Almacenamiento Storage Strip™ es una manera
fácil para ver si la plancha está los suficientemente fría como
para guardarla.

Para usar el indicador Storage Strip™:

Encienda la plancha. En aproximadamente 3 minutos, el indi­cador Storage Strip™ pasará de negro a rojo para indicar que
la plancha está demasiado caliente para guardarla. Al apagar la
plancha, ésta demorará aproximadamente entre 55 y 65 minu­tos para que el indicador Storage Strip™ pase de rojo a negro,
indicando que la plancha está lo suficientemente fría para
guardarla.

PRECAUCIÓN: El indicador Storage Strip™ debería usarse
solo como una pauta. La plancha siempre debe manipularse y
guardarse con cuidado.

FUNCIÓN CORD LOCK™

Función Cord Lock™ fija la cuerda en la posición de lado
izquierdo o derecho para mantener la cuerda fuera de la ropa.

SISTEMA ANTICALCIO

El Sistema Anticalcio es un sistema permanente ubicado dentro del
tanque de agua. Este sistema elimina los depósitos de calcio del
agua y reduce la acumulación de sarro en la base de la plancha.

SISTEMA ANTIGOTEO

Produce vapor sin goteras, chorreo o fugas a través de la base
de la plancha, incluso a bajas temperaturas.

MODO SIN AGUA

Cuando el nivel de agua en el tanque está bajo, el sensor de
nivel de agua emitirá dos tonos sonoros cortos y luego uno
largo. La plancha pasará automáticamente al modo Vapor
Apagado y la luz indicadora de vapor se apagará.

1. Para rellenar y reactivar el sensor, llene con agua el tanque
y luego presione cualquiera de los botones Turbo Steam™,
Vapor Encendido para permitir que el sensor detecte el
nuevo nivel de agua y se restablezca. Ahora se puede reini­ciar el planchado con vapor.

2. Si se intenta planchar con vapor, pero el tanque de agua NO
se ha rellenado, el sensor detectará esta situación y emitirá
dos tonos sonoros cortos y luego uno largo. Después la
plancha cambiará nuevamente al modo Vapor Apagado
hasta que se rellene el tanque.

NOTA: Si no rellena el tanque y reactiva el sensor puede exper­imentar ruido excesivo y vibración en la plancha.

través del orificio. Agite suavemente la plancha para elimi­nar las gotas de agua que queden atrapadas en el tanque.

3. Enrolle sueltamente el cable eléctrico alrededor del soporte
de descanso y guarde la plancha parada sobre su soporte.

IMPORTANTE: Enrollar el cordón muy ajustadamente alrede­dor de la plancha puede dañar la cuerda.

MANTENIMIENTO DE SU PLANCHA TURBO STEAM

Limpie la base de la plancha si es que se ha acumulado almidón
u otros residuos en ella.

Para limpiar la base de la plancha:

1. Desconecte la plancha. Deje que la plancha se enfríe y luego
límpiela con un paño suave humedecido.

ADVERTENCIA: NO use limpiadores abrasivos, virutilla o
vinagre para limpiar la base de la plancha. Ellos dañarán el
acabado.

2. Pase la plancha por una tela de algodón para retirar

LIMPIEZA DEL SISTEMA ANTICALCIO

La plancha Turbo Steam™ alberga un filtro anticalcio en el

Para prolongar la eficiencia de este filtro:

1. Desenchufe la plancha y déjela enfriarse.

2. Use el jarro de agua que acompañaba a la plancha y llénela

una temperatura baja y auméntela gradualmente
hasta encontrar la temperatura apropiada.

• Cuando cambie la temperatura de un valor alto a un
valor bajo, deje pasar aproximadamente 5 minutos
para llegar a la temperatura menor.

• Cuando planche al vapor, utilice pasadas largas y
lentas de la plancha sobre la tela. Esto
el vapor penetre en la tela y que el calor de la placa de
base seque la humedad.

• Para planchar prendas de lino, voltee de adentro
para afuera la prenda. Tenga cuidado de no usar una
plancha demasiado caliente porque el forro puede
