Disassemble keypad board assembly on SR830
Suggestion Parts: SRS part: # 3-00575, Green subminiature LED
SRS part: # 3-00576, Red subminiature LED
SRS part: # 7-00580, Lexan overlay
1. Remove the #10, 4 screws from both sides of the instrument. Then remove both top
and bottom covers from the instrument.
2. Remove stick-on Lexan overlay from the front panel. This Lexan overlay may not
stick on to the instrument. Replace with a new one after the instrument has been
repaired.
3. Remove the #8, 2 Flathead Phillip screws from both sides of the chassis near the front
panel.
4. Gently pull the front panel from the chassis (with BNC wires and flexible cable
connected) and lay on the bench.
5. Remove the #6, 2 Panhead Phillip screws from 7-00492-display board.
6. Disconnect the 2 flexible cables from JP4 and JP5. (34 pins connection cable and 5
pins connection cable)
7. Using 2 plastic rings as a support, pull the display board from the front panel.
8. Remove the #6, 11 Panhead Phillip screws from the front panel.
9. Remove the keypad board assembly (7-004930) from the front panel.
10. Replace defective LED.
Note: The white color paint mark on the LED should be placed at the same side as the
thick bar mark LED location on the keypad board assembly.
To reinstall the keypad board assembly, perform the reverse of the preceding steps.
