Key Technologies
Cinema Black Pro The Advanced Iris function is a special Sony function designed to improve contrast expression
especially in darker scenes. The Advanced Iris function is enabled by using either one of two modes, Auto and Manual. The Auto Mode has two settings designed to work best with video content such as movies that vary between bright scenes and dark scenes. Auto 1 is for programs that have a wide range of brightness from scene to scene. Auto 2 is for programs that have less variation between brightness levels from scene to scene.
HDMI™ and PC Inputs Designed for maximum versatility, Sony
s Grand WEGA™ XBR® line is equipped with a
comprehensive range of input interfaces. The HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is the first industry
supported, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface. HDMI technology supports enhanced or High Definition video, together with multi-channel digital audio to provide matchless image and sound reproduction. The PC input (D
Sub 15) offers easy connection to your PC, allowing you to use your high resolution Grand WEGA XBR TV as a computer monitor.
SXRD™ Panels Experience what a high
-
end Full HD 1080p experience is like. A blistering 5ms total panel response time (rise + fall) renders fast action , the three-panel SXRD design exceeds the demands of even the most rapidly moving high definition images for a remarkably smooth, film-like image.
WEGA Engine™ HD Get unparalleled picture quality from any video source. Sony
s unique Digital Reality Creation Multifunction picture enhancement circuit (DRC-MFv2.5) converts standard video to high definition quality. WEGA Engine
™ HD also reduces unwanted digital artifacts, maximizes picture performance and enhances color
performance. The result: crisp details, bold contrast, and eye-popping colors for a picture so real it’s like you’re there.
Advanced Iris Deep blacks and excellent brightness are very important elements in achieving good picture quality.
Sony’s special Advanced Iris function plays an important role in helping achieve it. This function dynamically adjusts the iris to optimize contrast levels. It works with any video content under a variety of viewing environments.
HDMI™ and PC Connectivity Maximum versatility from a comprehensive range of input interfaces. HDMI (High
Definition Multimedia Interface) input supports enhanced or high definition video along with multi-channel digital audio for excellent image and sound reproduction. PC input (HD-15-pin) offers easy connection to your PC, so you can use your high resolution TV as a computer monitor
