General Safety
Carefully read and understand this manual and any label attached to
the tool before use. Keep these instructions with the product for future
reference. Ensure all persons who use this product are fully acquainted
with this manual.
Even when used as prescribed it is not possible to eliminate all residual risk
factors. Use with caution. If you are at all unsure of the correct and safe
manner in which to use this tool, do not attempt to use it.
Keep guards in position
• Where guards exist keep them in position, in good working order,
correctly adjusted and aligned. Never attempt to use a tool if any of
the supplied guards are missing. If any guards are damaged, replace
before use
Remove adjusting keys
• Where adjusting keys exist, ensure they are removed prior to using the
tool. Always check to see that keys and adjusting devices are removed
from the tool before use
Clean the work area
• Accidents can occur where benches and work areas are cluttered or
dirty. Keep floors clear and avoid working where the floor is slippery. If

Never stand on your tool
• Standing on your tool or its stand could cause serious injury if the tool
is tipped or collapses. Do not store materials above or close to the tool
in such a way that a person might stand on the tool to reach the stored
items
Secure work
• Where possible, always secure work. If appropriate, use a clamp or vice
so that both hands are free to operate the tool
Check for damaged or missing parts
Before each use, check if any part of the tool is damaged or missing.
Carefully check that it will operate properly and perform its intended
function. Check alignment of moving parts for binding. Any guard or other

Dangerous environment
• Do not use power tools in damp or wet conditions, or expose them to
rain. Provide adequate surrounding work space and keep the area well
lit. Do not use power tools where there is a risk of explosion or fire from
combustible material, flammable liquids, flammable gases, or dust of
an explosive nature. When using power tools, avoid contact with any
earthed items such as pipes, radiators, cookers, refrigerators, metal
baths and taps
Protect yourself from vibration
• Hand-held power tools may produce vibration. Vibration can cause
disease. Gloves may help to maintain good blood circulation in the
fingers. Hand-held tools should not be used for long periods without a
break
Maintain your power tool
• Ensure all ventilation holes are kept clear at all times, otherwise
overheating and fire may occur
Always disconnect
• Before changing fittings or accessories, always disconnect the tool from
the power source
Switch off before connecting
• Ensure the power tool is switched off before connecting to the power
source. If the power tool stops unexpectedly, turn the power switch to
OFF
Do not abuse the power cable
• Be sure the cable / extension cable is in good condition. Always have
a damaged cable / extension cable replaced at an authorised service
centre before using. Never pull the cable to disconnect it from the power
socket. Never carry the tool by its cable. Keep the cable away from damp,
heat, oil, solvents, and sharp edges
Do not modify the power tool
• Do not modify the power tool in any way as this could result in serious
injury and may invalidate its guarantee
Do not leave the tool running unattended
• Always wait until the tool has completely stopped functioning and has
been unplugged before leaving it unattended
Use the battery charger correctly
• Refer to the section of this manual relating to use of the battery charger
before attempting to charge the battery
• Do not attempt to use the charger with any batteries other than those
supplied. Keep the battery charger clean; foreign objects or dirt may
cause a short or block air vents. Failure to follow these instructions may
cause overheating or fire
Use batteries correctly
• Only charge batteries using the charger provided. Only use batteries
provided with this power tool, or others recommended by the supplier.

• When not in use, batteries should be stored in a dry place, near to room

its features and functions
• Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If
any parts are missing or damaged, have such parts replaced before
attempting to use this tool
Operating Instructions
Warning: Never fit any attachment with a maximum speed lower than the
no load speed of the machine.
Fitting a drill bit
1. Open the Chuck (1) jaws by rotating the front chuck ring clockwise
2. The drill bit can then be placed into the chuck
3. Tighten the chuck jaws by rotating the front chuck ring anti-clockwise
NOTE: Do not run the drill whilst tightening or releasing the chuck
4. When the drill bit is held tightly, test that it is central by running the
drill. The drill bit should rotate smoothly with no 'wobble'. If the drill bit
is not central, release the chuck, and retighten
Direction control
• The direction of rotation can be set using the Reverse Switch (4)
• To make the drill rotate anti-clockwise, push the reverse switch to the
right
• To make the drill rotate clockwise, push the reverse switch to the left
• When the reverse switch is in the central position, the drill is locked
• Do not attempt to move the reverse switch when the drill is running
Switching on
• To start the drill, squeeze the Trigger Switch (5)
• The speed of the drill is controlled by the movement of the trigger, the
further the trigger is depressed, the faster the drill will run
Gear selection
• This drill is equipped with a 2 speed gearbox. The lower gear provides
speeds between 0-350rpm with a high torque. The higher gear provides
speeds between 0-1150rpm with reduced torque
• For jobs that do not require speeds above 350rpm, use low gear. This will
reduce the load on the motor
• To select a gear, slide the Gear Selector (3) to the appropriate position
• Do not attempt to move the gear selector when the drill is running
Torque control
• This drill is fitted with a Torque Control Clutch (2). This limits the torque
output of the drill, enabling screws to be driven without the risk of
damage
• The clutch settings are indicated by the symbols on the clutch ring
• Rotate the clutch ring to select the correct torque
• For drilling, rotate the clutch ring to the drill symbol. This will lock the
clutch for maximum torque
• For hammer drilling, rotate the clutch ring to the hammer symbol. This
will engage the hammer function
Checking battery level
• This drill is fitted with a Battery Level Indicator (7)
• To check the charge remaining in the battery, press the button below
the indicator
• The battery charge level will be displayed on the LCD screen
Charging the battery
NOTE: Ensure the battery is fully discharged before charging. Charge the
battery at room temperature (approx 20°C)
1. Insert Battery Charger (8) plug into power supply
2. Switch on power supply. The green (POWER) indicator light will
illuminate
3. Insert battery into charger. The red charge indicator light will
illuminate:
- Light flashing slowly: the battery is charging
- Light is solid red: the battery is fully charged
- Light flashes quickly: the battery will not hold a charge. Replace the
battery
4. After charging, allow 15 minutes for the battery to cool before use
5. Disconnect charger from the power supply and store in a clean, dry
environment out of the reach of children
6. Do not leave batteries on charge for extended periods and do not store
batteries on charge
IMPORTANT: Failure to follow the correct charging procedure may result in
permanent damage to the batteries
Maintenance
WARNING: Always remove the plug from the mains power supply before
carrying out any maintenance/cleaning.
Cleaning
• Keep your machine clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal
parts to wear quickly, and shorten the machine’s service life. Clean the
body of your machine with a soft brush or dry cloth. If available, use
clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the ventilation holes
Brushes
• Over time the carbon brushes inside the motor may become worn.
Excessively worn brushes may cause loss of power, intermittent failure,
or visible sparking
• If you suspect that the brushes may be worn, have them replaced at an
authorised service centre
Storage
• Store this tool and accessories in a dry, secure place out of the reach
of children
Disposal
• Do not dispose of power tools, or other waste electrical and electronic
equipment, with household waste
• Contact your local waste disposal authority for information on the correct
way to dispose of tools

The guarantee claim must be submitted during the guarantee period.
You must provide the original sales receipt indicating the purchase date,
your name, address and place of purchase before any work can be
carried out.
You must provide precise details of the fault requiring correction.
Claims made within the guarantee period will be verified by Silverline Tools
to establish if the deficiencies are related to material or manufacturing of
the product.
Carriage will not be refunded. Items for return must be in a suitably clean
and safe state for repair, and should be packaged carefully to prevent
damage or injury during transportation. We may reject unsuitable or
unsafe deliveries.
All work will be carried out by Silverline Tools or its authorized
repair agents.
The repair or replacement of the product will not extend the period
of guarantee
Defects recognised by us as being covered by the guarantee shall be
corrected by means of repair of the tool, free of charge (excluding carriage
charges) or by replacement with a tool in perfect working order.
Retained tools, or parts, for which a replacement has been issued, will
become the property of Silverline Tools.

Accidental damage, faults caused by negligent use or care, misuse,

Change or modification of the product in any way.
Use of parts and accessories which are not genuine Silverline Tools
components.
Faulty installation (except installed by Silverline Tools).
Repairs or alterations carried out by parties other than Silverline Tools or its
authorized repair agents.
Claims other than the right to correction of faults on the tool named in
these guarantee conditions are not covered by the guarantee.
