Removing the crankshaft

General

Applies to 16 litre engines with PDE and cylinder block generation 1.

Work description

The crankshaft must be removed while the engine is suspended in the engine stand.

Remove the parts in the order below:

1. Oil sump.

2. Flywheel.

3. Flywheel housing.

4. Oil strainer and suction pipe.

5. Poly-V-belts.

6. Fan ring and fan.

7. Cylinder heads.

8. Pulleys in front of the crankshaft.

9. Front cover.

10. Torsion damper with spacing sleeve.

11. Piston cooling nozzles.

Proceed as below:

12. Turn the engine so that it is vertical.
