Removing the air compressor
General
Applies to 9, 11, 12 and 13 litre engines with PDE, or HPI and cylinder block generations 1 and 2.
Work description
1. Evacuate the air from the pneumatic system
2. Empty the coolant to a level below the compressor.
3. Remove the pipe between the compressor and air dryer. Remove the part between
the rear joint and the compressor
4. Remove the fuel filter
5. Disconnect the fuel connections on the feed pump
6. Remove the feed pump from the rear of the compressor. Its appearance may dif-
fer depending on the engine and unit injector
7. Remove the high pressure pump driver from the compressor
8. Disconnect the two coolant pipes from the top of the compressor
9. Disconnect the air connection

10. Disconnect the compressor signal cable
11. Undo the three nuts in the compressor mounting
