23. Clean the door joints and adjoining areas with a damp cloth in order to remove any
remaining food which could create a free space for microwave emissions.
24. To avoid danger, if the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its customer service department or an authorized technician. Contact your
retailer.
Electrical Requirements
1. Power to the oven must be drawn by an electrical line protected by a 16A fuse.
2. The oven must be connected to a separate circuit. No other device can share the
same circuit as the microwave oven. If such were the case, the branch fuse may blow
or the circuit-breaker may operate. This could also affect the cooking time recommended in your recipe book (not included).
3. The voltage used must be that which is specified on the microwave oven (230V). The
use of higher voltage is dangerous and could cause a fire or other incident which may
damage the oven. The use of lower voltage will increase cooking time.
The manufacturer is not responsible for deterioration caused by using the oven at voltages other than that which is specified.
1. Use of the Microwave Oven
What you must know before you use the oven
1.1.Food
1. The microwave oven is not meant to be used to make preserves. Inappropriately pre-
pared preserves could spoil and be dangerous to eat. To make preserves, use proven
methods of bain-marie or pressure cooking.
2. Cooking times are approximate. Factors that may modify cooking requirements are
the starting temperature, the volume, dimensions, the form of the food and the
containers used. As you become more familiar with your oven, you will be able to
adapt to these factors.
3. It is better to undercook than overcook food. If the food is not sufficiently cooked,
you can always put it back into the oven for a few minutes. Always choose a mini-
mum cooking time to start.
4. Use a "microwave-friendly" temperature probe to check roast and poultry cooking
temperatures. If they are not sufficiently cooked, put them back for a few minutes
at the recommended cooking level. Do not use an ordinary meat thermometer in the
microwave oven.
5. Heated liquids may overflow if they are not stirred. Always mix your liquid prepara-
tions before putting them in the microwave.
1.2. Kitchen Accessories
1. Browning dishes are designed for microwave cooking only. Preheating time varies
depending upon the dish's size and the type of food. Always follow the manufactu-
rer's instructions. Do not preheat the browning dish on the glass tray for more than
8 minutes.
2. Do not use metal containers, dishes with metal decorations or any other metal object
in the microwave oven. These could causes sparks.
3. Do not use hermetically sealed jars or bottles with narrow necks in cooking or pre-
heating. They could burst.
4. Do not use an ordinary thermometer in the oven. It could cause sparks.
5. Remove plastic packaging before cooking or defrosting in the oven.
