CHARGING YOUR HAIR CLIPPER
CORDLESS USE

• Charge your hair clipper by plugging in the power adaptor directly into the bottom
of the hair clipper.
• Ensure the product is switched of f.
• Connect the charging adaptor to the product and then to a mains power outlet. The
charging indicator will light up and will remain illuminated until the hair clipper is disconnected from the power source regardless of whether the batteries are full or not.
• If the product is not going to be used for an extended period time (2-3 months),
unplug it from the mains and store.
• Fully recharge your hair clipper when you would like to use it again.
• It is not advisable to use this hair clipper directly from the power outlet when it has
been fully charged, however, while using the hair clipper in cordless mode, if there is a noticeable drop in power, you can use the hair clipper directly from the power outlet.
• To preserve the life of your batteries, let them run out every six months then
recharge for 24 hours.
CORDED USE
Once the mains power source is turned on the charging indicator will light up to indicate that the hair clipper is receiving the mains power. Turn the hair clipper ON to begin drawing power from the mains power supply, the charging indicator will then turn off when it is in corded use. When the clipper is switched OFF the charging indicator light

will illuminate once again to indicate power source connection. Either leave the clipper connected to complete a full charge (16 hours) or disconnect it from the mains for storage if you are finished using it.
CAUTION: Extended mains (corded) only use will result in the reduction of the battery life.
HOW TO USE
BEFORE STARTING TO CUT
1. Inspect the hair clipper making sure that it is free from hair and dirt.
2. Ensure that the hair is thoroughly dry and tangle free.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR HAIR CUTTING
NOTE: For even cutting, allow the trimmer comb/blade to cut its way through the hair. Do not force it through quickly. If you are cutting for the first time, start with the maximum length trimmer comb, until you know how short you would like your hair to be.
NOTE: The comb guide lengths described for use in the steps below are an example only, if you want a longer or shorter hair cut you will need to adjust the comb guide lengths to suit your requirements.
STEP 1 - NAPE OF THE NECK
a. Use 3mm or 7mm guide comb.
b. Hold the hair clipper with the blade teeth pointing upwards. Begin starting at the
centre of the head at the base of the neck.
c. Slowly lift the hair clipper, working upwards and outwards through the hair,
trimming just a little at a time.
STEP 2 - BACK AND SIDE OF THE HEAD
With the 9mm or 12mm guide comb attached, cut the hair at the back of the head.
STEP 3 - SIDE OF THE HEAD
a. With the 9mm or 12mm guide comb attached, trim sideburns. b. Then change to the longer 25mm guide comb and continue to cut to the top of
the head.
STEP 4 - TOP OF THE HEAD
a. Attach the 25mm guide comb, cut the hair on top of the head against the direction
in which the hair normally grows.
b. For longer hair on top, use scissors. Lift the hair on top of the head with a styling
comb. Cut over the styling comb with the hair lifted or hold the hair between the fingers to lift it and cut it to the desired length.
c. Always work from the back of the head.
6
Page 7
STEP 5 - THE FINISHING TOUCHES
a. Use the hair clipper without an attachment comb for close trimming around the
base and sides of the neck.
b. To produce a clean straight line at the sideburns, reverse the hair clipper. Place
the reversed hair clipper at right angles to the head, tips of the blades lightly touching the skin and then work downwards.
TAPER LEVER
Your hair clipper has a taper lever located on the left side of the clipper near the blades. Adjust the lever to change the closeness of the cut gradually and also to improve the effectivness of the comb attachments (for blending between layers). The taper lever also extends the life of the blades because a different cutting edge is used in each setting.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
To ensure long lasting performance of your hair clipper, clean the blades and unit regularly. Always keep the blade cover on the hair clipper blade.
NOTE: Ensure that the hair clipper is turned off and unplugged when cleaning.
AFTER EACH USE
1. Ensure the hair clipper is switched off and disconnected from the mains household power outlet.
2. Brush the accumulated hair from the blades. Do not submerge the hair clipper in water.
3. To clean the body of the unit, wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately.
4. Gently blow the remaining hairs away from the hair clipper comb and hair clipper blade. Do not rinse the cutter assembly under water.
EVERY SIX MONTHS
At regular intervals the blade set should be removed and cleaned.
1. Ensure that the hair clipper is empty of power, is switched off and disconnected from the mains household power outlet.
2. Remove the two screws retaining the fixed blade with a screwdriver. Do not remove the blade set.
3. Blow out hairs from between the blades. Do not remove the lubricating grease from the blades. It is not necessary to remove the small moving blade from the unit. If the moving blade has been removed this can be re-fitted by slotting the long grooved edge of the blade onto the two white plastic guide ridges and then seating the blade over the plastic actuator bar. The fixed blade is fitted
7
Page 8
with the raised profile pointing outwards and fixed with the two screws.
4. Before fully tightening the 2 screws, adjust the taper lever to the lower position and align the blades so that their cutting edges are parallel to one another. Tighten the 2 screws. Note that if the blades are not correctly aligned then cutting efficiency will be impaired.
When not in use, unplug the hair clipper and store it out of reach of children in a safe dry place. Never wrap the cord around the hair clipper as this will cause the cord to wear prematurely and break. Handle the cord carefully for long life and avoid jerking, twisting or straining especially at the plug connections.
