Purpose of this Release
These Release Notes extend the list of backup software programs that can be used in the SNC 450x environment. The newly qualified software programs are BakBone Netvault Commvault Galaxy
These Release Notes also announce SNC 450x compatibility with Quantum SDLT-320 drives when the backup program is CA ARCserve
This document uses the term SNC 450x to refer collectively to the SNC 4500 and the SNC 4501. The SNC 4500 is used with the Scalar

1. CA ARCserve Version 9.01 requires patches through QO51045.
2. Veritas Backup Exec Version 9.1, and patches 267180, 267250, 267682, 265501. Veritas recommends patch 268600 if Intelligent Disaster Recovery (IDR) is used.
3. Use the following code levels: HBA driver, 1.20.0.39; HBA Firmware, 1.20.41; HBA BIOS,1.2.40.
4. A host that uses this HBA with Veritas Backup Exec must first be attached to a Gigabit Ethernet switch before being connected to the SNC 450x. Otherwise, the software erroneously recognizes the media changer as offline.
