Phottix Aster Flash Trigger
INSTRUCTION
Introduction
The Phottix Aster Wireless Flash Trigger Set is used to remotely re
camera ashes. The Aster transmitter unit emits a wireless radio signal to
the Aster receiver unit when the camera’s shutter is triggered. This signal
res the ash attached to the receiver, depending on the radio channel
selected. The receiver can also be optically triggered with a camera’s
built-in ash or other ash unit. This allows you to take o-camera ash
photographs without using radio triggering.
Features
1) The receiver unit has two operating modes: In ‘W’ (wireless) mode the
receiver unit is triggered by the wireless transmitter unit. In ‘L’ (light)
mode the receiver unit is triggered optically by another ash – an optical
sensor is on the back of the receiver unit.
2) Four radio channels (for ‘W’ wireless mode) are available to avoid
interference.
3) When using ‘W’ wireless mode: Setting the transmitter’s channel
selection switch to “ALL” will re the ashes on all receiver units within
range, even if set to dierent channels.
Operating Instructions
W (wireless) mode
1) Turn on the transmitter unit (move switches to the ‘On’ position).
2) Move the receiver switch to the ‘W’ position and set the channel
selector (there are 1/2/3/4 channel switches) of both transmitter and
receiver units to same number (1 -1, 2 -2, 3 -3, 4 -4).
3) Press the test button on the transmitter unit. If the transmitter and
receiver’s signal LEDs light simultaneously, the units are properly congured.
4) Slide the ash into the receiver unit’s hot shoe socket, locking it with
the ash’s locking mechanism; slide the transmitter unit into the
camera’s hot shoe socket. Pressing the camera’s shutter release will now
trigger the ash.
L (light) mode (without use of transmitter)
1) Move the receiver unit switch to the ‘L’ position.
2) The ash on receiver will now be triggered by a camera’s built-in ash
or other another ash unit within range.

Usage Notices
1) Use batteries as specied in this user guide. Replace with a new
battery if the receiver’s signal LED becomes dim.
4) The transmitter and receiver units have an on/o switch, and an LED
to indicate operation and triggering.
5) The receiver unit’s hot shoe mount will accept speedlight-type ash
units. The metal tripod thread underneath the receiver unit can be used
for mounting the unit on a tripod or light stand.
6) The receiver unit’s PC Sync socket will take a 3.5mm mono plug. The
included 3.5mm PC Sync cable can connect the receiver unit to a studio
strobe when using the 6.3mm PC adapter (included).
7) Supported Modes: Manual, Non TTL Auto.
For Studio ash
1) Plug the PC Sync cord into the receiver unit’s PC Sync socket. Connect
the cord (the 3.5mm mono plug or 6.3mm converter) to the studio light.
Set the receiver to ‘W ‘ (wireless) mode.
2) Slide the transmitter unit into the camera’s hot shoe connection.
3) Pressing the camera’s shutter release will now trigger the ash.

1. 接收器有两个操作模式：

操作说明
W( 无线 ) 模式
1. 开启发射器（将开关滑动至“On”位置。）
2. 将接收器开关滑动至“W”位置，将发射器和接收
器的频道调为一致（1 -1, 2 -2, 3 -3, 4 -4）。
3. 按下发射器上的测试按钮，如果发射器和接收器的
LED 信号灯同时亮起来，说明此发射器和接收器正常工
作。
4. 滑动闪光灯至接收器的热靴端口，根据闪光灯的锁紧
机制锁定闪光灯；滑动发射器至相机的热靴插座。按下
相机的快门按钮将触发接收器上的闪光灯。
L（光控）模式（不需要使用发射器）
1. 将接收器开关滑动至“L”位置。
2. 接收器上连接的闪光灯将可以被相机的内置闪光灯或
其他在接收器工作范围之内的闪光装置触发。
用于影楼灯
1. 将 PC 同步线一端插入接收器的 PC 同步端口，将线
的另一端（3.5mm 单芯插头或 6.3mm 适配器）连接
至影楼灯。将接收器设置为“W”无线模式。
2. 滑动发射器至相机的热靴插座。
3. 按下相机的快门按钮将会触发接收器上的影楼灯。

5. 接收器上的热靴端口用于连接电子闪光式闪光灯。接
收器底部的金属三脚架可以用来安装在三脚架上或灯架
上。
