In order to exit the energy economy mode and resume the use of these functions immediately, the engine must be started and left running for a few minutes.
If the engine has been running for at least 10 minutes, the functions are active for 30 minutes.
If the engine has been running for less than 10 minutes, this duration before returning to economy mode is 5 minutes.
If the doors or boot are opened several times or if the alarm is triggered, this may result in activation of the energy economy mode.

"Manual" indicator lights
These indicator lights correspond to the six manually operated gears.
When the needle is in zone A , the temperature is correct.
When the needle is in zone B , the temperature is too high.
In cases where the coolant temper- ature warning light comes on , linked to the STOP warning light, you must stop immediately.
Warning: wait for the engine to cool
down before topping up the level, if
necessary. Because the cooling system is pres-
surised, to prevent the risk of scalding,
turn the cap two notches to allow the pressure to drop.
When the pressure has dropped,
remove the cap and top up the level.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
When the needle is in zone C , the temperature is correct.
When the needle is in zone D , the temperature is too high.
Reduce your speed to lower the temperature.

INSTRUMENT PANEL DISPLAY
Engine oil level indicator
When the ignition is switched on, the
engine oil level is indicated on the
instrument panel display for approximately 7 seconds.
This level is indicated at the same time as the service information which
appears on the display located in the speedometer dial.
Oil level correct
Lack of oil
Flashing indicates a lack of oil which may damage the engine.
If the lack of oil is con-
fi rmed by checking using the dipstick, it is imperative that the level is topped up.
Oil level gauge fault
Check the oil level using
the dipstick.
If the level is correct, the fl ashing indicates an engine oil level gauge mal-
function.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
The level observed on the dipstick is only valid if the vehicle is parked on level ground and the engine has been
off for more than 15 minutes.
Dipstick
There are 2 level marks on the
dipstick:
- never exceed level A,
- in position B, top up the level via the oil fi ller cap, using
the type of oil suited to your engine.
A = max. B = min.
After switching on the ignition, two functions are shown in succession:
- service indicator,
- total distance recorder (total and trip distances).
Note: the total and trip distances are dis- played for 30 seconds when the ignition
is switched off, on opening the driver's
door, as well as on locking and unlock-
ing the vehicle.

SERVICE INDICATOR
This is a visual reminder of when the
Operation
next service is due. This service is to
be carried out according to the manu-
facturer's servicing schedule. The point at which the service is due is
calculated from the last indicator zero reset. It is determined by two parameters:
- the distance travelled,
- the time elapsed since the last
service.
Note: the distance remaining before
the next service is due may be weight-
ed by the time factor.
The service information appears on
the display, located in the speedo-meter dial, at the same time as the en-
gine oil level on the instrument panel
display.
As soon as the ignition is switched on and for 7 seconds, the spanner sym-
bolising the servicing operations is lit.
The trip recorder display shows the
distance remaining (in round fi gures) before the next service.
Example: 4,800 miles/km remain be- fore the next service is due. When the
ignition comes on and for 7 seconds the display indicates:
7 seconds after the ignition is switched on, the total distance recorder resumes normal operation and the display shows the total and trip distances.
The distance remaining before the
next service is less than 500 miles (1,000 km).
Each time the ignition is switched on and for 7 seconds, the spanner and
the distance fl ash.
Example: 900 miles/km remain before
the next service is due.
When switching on the ignition and for 7 seconds, the display shows:
7 seconds after the ignition is switched on, the total distance recorder resumes normal operation and the spanner remains lit.
This indicates that a service should be
carried out shortly. The display shows the total and trip distances.
