Abbreviations
• The Network Camera is referred to as “the camera” in this document.
• The Setup CD-ROM is referred to as “the CD-ROM” in this document.
• The term “SD memory card” is used in this document to refer to SD memory cards and SDHC memory cards.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using this unit, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury.
Note:
• References to the AC adaptor and the AC cord apply when using the optional BB-HCA7A AC Adaptor.
1. Read and understand all instructions.
2. Keep these instructions.
3. Heed all warnings.
4. Follow all instructions.
5. Attach the Safety Wire to the camera to prevent it from dropping.
6. After taking away the sand or the dust on the lens cover, wipe the lens cover with a dry cloth.
7. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with instructions.
8. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other devices (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
9. Protect the AC adaptor cord, the AC cord and the extension cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the unit.
10. The AC cord is used as the main disconnect device. Ensure that the socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.
11. Only use attachments/accessories (such as the safety wire) specified by the manufacturer.
12. Do not touch the unit, the LAN cable, the AC adaptor, the AC adaptor cord, the AC cord and the extension cord during lightning storms.
13. Unplug the unit from power supply when unused for long periods of time.
14. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the unit has been damaged in any way, such as when the AC adaptor, the AC adaptor cord, or the AC cord is damaged, the unit does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
15. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or halogen light may damage the image sensor.
This installation should be made by a qualified service person and should conform to all local codes.
16. The camera is intended for indoor use only.
17. Keep the SD memory card (customer-provided) out of reach of children to prevent swallowing.
18. Unplug this unit from power supply if it emits smoke, an abnormal smell or makes unusual noise. These conditions can cause fire or electric shock. Confirm that smoke has stopped and contact an authorized service center.
19. If for some reason the camera is no longer used, uninstall the camera to avoid the risk of the camera falling.

FCC and Other Information
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
• Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
• Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
• Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
• Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may
cause undesired operation.
CAUTION:
• Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.
• To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove cover (or back).
• The camera is to be connected only to PoE networks without routing to the outside plant when using PoE.
Environment:
Do not install the camera where the temperature is less than +0 °C (+32 °F) or greater than +40 °C (+104 °F). Allow 10 cm (4 inches) clearance around the unit for proper ventilation. Avoid excessive smoke, dust, mechanical vibration, shock, or direct sunlight.
Routine care:
Wipe the unit with a soft cloth. Do not use benzine, thinner, or any abrasive powder. When you leave the unit unused for a long period of time, disconnect the LAN cable (when using PoE) from the camera, or disconnect the AC adaptor from the outlet (when using the AC adaptor).
If you have any problems:
Consult an authorized Panasonic Factory Service Center.
No responsibility will be taken by our company with respect to consequences resulting from the use, damage or both of the camera.

Security Cautions
When using this product, take appropriate measures to avoid the following security breaches.
• Disclosure of private information via this product
• Unauthorized use of this product by a third party
• Interference or suspension of the use of this product by a third party
You are responsible for the security of this product and its use. Take the following measures to avoid security breaches.
• To prevent unauthorized access, disclosure of private information, or interference or suspension of access to the camera, make sure the camera’s firmware is up to date.
• Do not reveal the user names and passwords required to access the camera to an unknown party.
• If you choose to configure this product to allow access to parties without the need to enter a user name and password (i.e., guest users), be aware that unknown parties may access this product.
• Do not upload images produced by this product or otherwise release information where it may be accessed by unknown parties.
• Mount the camera where the camera will not be stolen.
• When sending this product for service or transferring this product to another party, make backup copies of its setup files, and reset this product to its factory default settings.
• When disposing of this product, reset the product to its factory default settings, or erase the product’s memory by means of electrical deletion or physical dismantlement.
• After the camera is accessed by the administrator, make sure to close the browser for added security.
• Change the administrator password periodically for added security.
User Name and Password Protection The use of unique user names and secret passwords is an important tool that will help limit unauthorized individuals from accessing the camera. If you choose to disable this tool by allowing guest (i.e. anonymous) access, the camera may be accessed by unauthorized individuals.

About the H.264/MPEG-4 Viewer Program
The H.264/MPEG-4 viewer program is an ActiveX® Control that is used to play H.264/MPEG-4 files within Internet Explorer. This software is installed automatically the first time you view H.264/MPEG-4 videos. A software license for the H.264/MPEG-4 decoder is included with the H.264/MPEG-4 viewer program, and the license is valid for 1 PC. Please read the included End-User License Agreement before installing the viewer program. When installing the H.264/MPEG-4 viewer program on additional PCs, please purchase additional licenses (Model No. BB-HCA8A, BB-HCA5A).
About the Software License
• This software includes certain software derived from the RSA Security, Inc. MD5 Message-Digest Algorithm.
• This software includes certain software derived from OpenSSL and NetBSD according to their licensing terms, as well as software developed by ACME Labs.
