IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and/or injury to persons, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THE SANDWICH MAKER.
• Before connecting the appliance, make sure the voltage in your outlet is the same as the voltage indicated on the appliance’s rating label.
• The temparature of accessible surfaces may be hot when the appliance is operating.
DO NOT touch the Sandwich Maker’s hot surfaces areas . Use handles and always use oven mitts when handling hot materials.
• To protect against electric shock, DO NOT immerse the power cord, plug or Sandwich Maker in water or any other liquid.
• Close supervision is necessary when this appliance is used near children.
• Unplug the power cord from the electric outlet when the Sandwich Maker is not in use and before cleaning. Allow the Sandwich Maker parts to cool before cleaning the appliance or storing.
DO NOT operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the unit malfunctions or is damaged in any manner. To avoid the risk of electric shock, DO NOT disassemble the appliance. Take it to an Authorized Service Centre for examination and repair. Incorrect re-assembly can cause a risk of electric shock when the appliance is used.
• The use of attachments not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electrical shock, or injury.
DO NOT use outdoors.
DO NOT let the power cord hang over the edge of table or countertop, or touch hot surfaces.
DO NOT place this appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
• To disconnect, remove plug from the wall outlet. NEVER yank the cord to disconnect the appliance from the outlet. To unplug, grasp plug and pull straight out from the outlet.
• Use this Sandwich Maker only for its intended use.
• Use the Sandwich Maker on a hard, flat level surface to avoid interruption of airflow underneath this appliance.
• This Sandwich Maker is designed for household use only.
DO NOT operate in the open position.
• When using this appliance, provide adequate air space above and on all sides for air circulation.

DO NOT leave Sandwich Maker unattended during use.
• When using this appliance, make sure there are no flammable materials close to it, such as curtains, paper, plastic, etc.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilties, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
• This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as: staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments farm houses by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments bed and breakfast type environments.

Please follow the instructions below to ensure the safe use of the power cord.
• Do not use an extension cord with this product.
• Do not pull, twist or otherwise abuse the power cord. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent
or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
(FOR 120 V & 127 V WITH TWO FLAT PINS ONLY)
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.
DO NOT MODIFY THE PLUG IN ANY WAY.

BEFORE USING YOUR OSTER® SANDWICH MAKER
Before using your Oster® Sandwich Maker for the first time, clean and grease the cooking surfaces:
• With the appliance unplugged, clean the cooking surfaces with a cloth or sponge dampened with hot, soapy water. DO NOT IMMERSE UNIT IN WATER. Rinse with a dampened cloth or sponge and wipe dry.
• To grease the cooking surfaces plug the appliance into an electrical outlet. The red “Power On” Indicator Light will illuminate. Allow the Sandwich Maker to pre-heat until the green “Ready” Indicator Light turns on. Wipe a small amount of butter or margarine onto the cooking surfaces, rub lightly and wipe away any excess.
Note: When using your Sandwich Maker for the first time you may notice a fine smoke haze being emitted from the unit. This is normal. It is due to the initial heating of internal components.
USING YOUR OSTER® SANDWICH MAKER
• Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet, the red “Power On” Indicator Light will illuminate and remain lit while the appliance is plugged in.
• Pre-heat your Sandwich Maker until the green “Ready” Indicator Light turns on.
• Once you have prepared your snack, open the Sandwich Maker and place the sandwiches on the cooking surface. DO NOT OVERFILL.
• Lower the top cooking surface until the handles meet, then secure with the Locking Latch. DO NOT FORCE THE LID TO CLOSE.
Note:
• Ensure that the cord is kept well away from the cooking surfaces when in use.
• The green “Ready” Indicator Light may turn on and off during cooking. This indicates that the thermostat is maintaining the proper cooking temperature to prepare snacks to perfection.
• When the sandwiches are cooked to taste, remove with a plastic spatula.
• The cooking surfaces are coated with a durable non-stick coating. Some sandwich fillings such as cheese may melt and cause the sandwich to stick to the cooking sur faces. To free the sandwich, use a plastic spatula or wooden spoon. Never use a sharp or metal object, as this will damage the non-stick surface.
AFTER YOU HAVE COMPLETED USING YOUR SANDWICH MAKER, UNPLUG THE APPLIANCE FROM THE ELECTRICAL OUTLET.
HINTS FOR BEST RESULTS
• Always preheat the Sandwich Maker before use.
• Be careful when biting into sandwiches containing fillings such as cheese, tomato or jam as they retain heat and can burn if eaten too quickly.
• It is not necessary to butter the outside of the bread as the Sandwich Maker has Non- stick Cooking Surfaces. However, to encourage even browning of bread, spreading a small amount of butter or margarine is recommended.

CARE AND CLEANING
• Unplug and allow the unit to cool completely before cleaning.
• Release removable cooking plates, and clean them with a soft cloth or sponge dampened with hot, soapy water.
DO NOT IMMERSE THE UNIT IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID. DO NOT PLACE THE SANDWICH MAKER IN A DISHWASHER.
• To remove cooked-on food, use a nylon scrubby or non-abrasive cleanser. A steel wool pad or other abrasive cleansers may damage the non-stick surface.
• To clean the exterior simply wipe with a dampened cloth and polish dry with a dry soft cloth.
• Store in the closed position. Simply bring the cooking surfaces together and secure with the Locking Latch.
DO NOT use metal utensils or sharp metal objects such as a knife, as this will damage the non-stick coating.
Do not cut food on top of the Sandwich Maker’s cooking surface.

• Débrancher l´appareil de la prise de courant lorsqu´elle ne sera pas en usage et avant de le nettoyer. Laissez cet appareil se refroidir avant de le nettoyer ou avant de le ranger.
NE PAS utiliser cet appareil avec le fil électrique ou le branchement abîmés, s´il ne fonctionne pas bien ou s´il est abîmé. Afin d´éviter le risque d´une décharge électrique NE PAS démanteler l´appareil. L´envoyer à un Centre de Service Autorisé afin qu´il soit examiné et ou réparé. Si l´appareil a été réassemblé de façon incorrecte, il peut exister le risque de chocs électriques quand il sera utilisé.
• L´emploi de pièces de rechange qui ne soient pas autorisées par le fabriquant pourra éventuellement produire un incendie, une décharge électrique ou des blessures.
NE PAS utiliser cet appareil dehors
NE PAS permetter pas que les fils électriques pendent du bord de la table ni qu´il entre en contact avec les surfaces chaudes.
NE PAS placer l´appareil au dessus ou près d´une cuisinière à gaz ou électrique ou dans un four chaud.
• Pour débrancher cet appareil, débrancher la prise de courant. Empoigner le branchement et le retirer tout droit vers vous. NE JAMAIS tirer du fil électrique.
• Utiliser l´appareil à Sandwich uniquement pour l´usage indiqué.
• Employer l´appareil à sandwich sur une surface plate et résistante à la chaleur afin de permettre une circulation de l´air en dessous de l´appareil.
• Cet appareil à sandwich est destiné uniquement pour l´usage domestique.
NE PAS l´opérer en position d´ouvert.
