IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be
followed including the following:

1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE.

2.

Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponding to the local mains
voltage before you connect the appliance.

3. Verify that the voltage in your home corresponds to that of your appliance.

4. DO NOT touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.

5. To protect against electrical shock do not immerse the cord, plug, temperature
controller or the appliance in water or other liquid.

6. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.

7. Unplug from outlet and allow to cool when not in use, before cleaning, and
before putting on or taking o parts

8. DO NOT operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the
appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return the
appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair,
or adjustment.

9. Do not use outdoors or for commercial purposes.

10. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance
manufacturer may result in re, electric shock or cause injury.

11. DO NOT let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot
surfaces.

12. DO NOT place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.

13. DO NOT use the appliance for other than intended use.

14. Do not intend to operate by means of an external timer or separate
remote-control system.

15. Extreme caution must be exercised when moving an appliance containing hot
oil or other hot liquids

16. Do not use on plastic or synthetic tablecloths or any unstable surface or near
ammable goods including curtains, draperies, walls, and the like, as re
may occur.

17. Never impact this unit or drop from high place.

18. DO NOT touch the plate surface while in use or before cooling down, even
when the power is switched o.

19. DO NOT touch the stainless steel cover during use. HOT SURFACE!

20. Do not use metal utensils on the cooking plate, as they will scratch the
non-stick coating.

21. To disconnect, turn temperature control to MIN setting and unplug cord from outlet.

22. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should
be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

23. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and
persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of
experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards
involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user
maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

24. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children,
or incapacitated individuals.

Before First Use

Before using the appliance for the rst time, remove and peel o any promotional materials
and packaging materials, and check that the cooking plates and accessories are clean and
free of dust. Read entire instruction manual for a full understanding of your new appliance.

1 Clean the grill, plates (see “Cleaning and Care”). It is recommended to heat up the grill

for about 10 minutes without any food in order to eliminate any grease that may have
adhered during the manufacturing process.

2 Ventilate the room during this period. When your Panini Maker/Grill is heated for the rst

time, it may emit slight smoke or odor. This is normal with many heating appliances. This
does not aect the safety of your appliance.

Operation

Note: Ensure that the cord is kept well away from the cooking surfaces at all times while in
use or when the unit is hot.

• With the thermostat set to “Min”, plug the appliance in. The red power light and green
ready light will light up.

• Apply a little oil on the cooking plate. Turn the knob to desired temperature level.
Preheat the grill to reach the ideal cooking temperature. When the appliance reaches
the desired temperature, the green ready light will go o.

Note: Green ready light may turn on and o during cooking. This indicates that the
thermostat is maintaining the proper cooking temperature to grill to perfection.

• Ensure the drip tray is properly inserted and placed on the back of the appliance. (see
Page 4 for illustration).

WARNING: THE METAL TOP COVER GETS VERY HOT. KEEP HANDS AND OTHER OBJECTS
AWAY FROM IT. ALLOW THE UNIT TO COOL OFF COMPLETELY FOLLOWING OPERATION
(USUALLY APPROXIMATELY 40 MINUTES) BEFORE TOUCHING THE PLATES OR HOUSING.

To Use as a Contact Grill:

The Contact Grill can be used to cook items such as burgers (including but not limited to
hamburgers, veggie burgers, turkey burgers, etc), boneless pieces of meat and thin cuts of
meats and vegetables.

1 Plug in the unit.
2 Set the Thermostat Control to your desired setting. At rst, try a setting neat the “Max”

setting. You may adjust it lower or higher according to your preference.

3 Ensure the drip tray is properly inserted and placed on the back of the appliance in

order to catch the grease.

4 Inser t your desired food onto the bottom cooking plate. Ideally make sure your foods

are approximately the same height, as the lid will need to press on the top of the food
in order to cook it evenly.

5 Close the top cooking plate. The top plate must be fully lowered to achieve Grill marks

on the selected foods. The green ready light will illuminate until the food is cooked in
3-8 minutes, you may stop cooking when the food reaches golden brown or adjust
cooking time to t your desired taste.

6 When the food is cooked use the handle to open the lid. Remove the food with the help

of a plastic or wooden spatula. DO NOT use metal utensils for any reason as these will
scratch the non-stick coating on the plates.

To Use as a Panini Grill/Press:

The Panini Grill can be used to cook items such as grilled sandwiches, breads and
quesadillas.

1 Plug in the unit.

2 Set the Thermostat Control to your desired setting. At rst, try a medium setting

(temperature setting midway between MIN and MAX). You may later adjust it lower or
higher according to your preference.

3 Ensure the drip tray is properly inserted and placed on the back of the appliance in

order to catch any grease that might drip.

4 Inser t your desired food onto the bottom cooking plate. Make sure your foods are

approximately the same height as the lid will need to press on the top of the food in
order to cook it evenly. To ensure proper and uniform grilling, when cooking more than
one food item in the grill, it is important for the thickness of all food items to be
consistent, so that the cover will close evenly on the food.

5 Close the top cooking plate. The top plate must be fully lowered to achieve grill marks

on the selected foods. The green ready light will illuminate until the food is cooked in
3-6 minutes, you may stop cooking when the food reaches golden brown or adjust
cooking time to t your desired taste.

6 When the food is cooked use the handle to open the lid. Remove the food with the help

of a plastic or wooden spatula. DO NOT use metal utensils for any reason as these will
scratch the non-stick coating on the plates.

To Use as an Open Grill:

The Open Grill can be used to cook items such as burgers, steak, poultry (it is not
recommended to cook chicken parts with bones, as they might not cook evenly), hot dogs,
sh and vegetables.

1 With the unit UNPLUGGED, open the unit to the 180 degree/at position using the Grill

Release Switch.

2 Plug in the unit.

3 Select your desired temperature on the Thermostat Control.

4 Ensure the drip tray is properly inserted and placed on the back of the appliance in

order to catch any grease that might drip.

5 Place your desired foods on to the top and bottom cooking plates. Your grilling surface

has doubled when you use the Open Grill position. Feel free to cook up dierent foods
at the same time and don’t worry about mixing avors since they are on separate
plates! The green ready light will illuminate until the food is cooked in 3-6 minutes, you
may stop cooking when the food reaches golden brown or adjust cooking time to t
your desired taste.

6 When the food is cooked, remove the food with the help of a plastic or wooden spatula.

DO NOT use metal utensils for any reason as these will scratch the non-stick coating on
the plates.

Helpful Hints

• Frozen food should always be thawed before it is grilled.

• If you grill vegetables, sh or lean meat, spray the grilling surface with a cooking spray.

If you are grilling meat with any amount of fat, or if the food has been marinated, there
is no need to treat the grill prior to cooking.

• Never use metal utensils – they will scratch the non-stick plates.

• Do not leave plastic utensils in constant contact with the hot grill plates.

They could melt.

• Do not touch unit for at least 45 minutes after use to ensure the unit has cooled down.
When in doubt always use an oven mitt.

CARE & CLEANING

Taking Care of Your Panini Maker/Grill

• After use be sure the Thermostat Control is fully turned to counter-clockwise until the
unit is o.

• Unplug the unit from the power and let the appliance cool down for at least 45 minutes
before cleaning. If you are unsure if the unit is hot be sure to use an oven mitt.

• Wipe the grill/griddle plates with a soft cloth to remove food residue. For baked on food
residue, squeeze some warm water mixed with detergent over the food residue, then
clean with a non-abrasive plastic scouring pad or place wet kitchen paper over the grill
to moisten the food residue.

• Wipe the outside of the unit with a damp cloth, sponge or paper towel.

• Do not use anything abrasive that can scratch or damage the non-stick coating.

• Do not use hard, sharp utensils. Plastic utensils are the best if you nd you need to

scrape leftover food from the unit.

• Make sure no water or other liquid penetrates into the appliance.

• DO NOT place unit in the dishwasher.

• NEVER clean or rinse the appliance under running water.

• DO NOT immerse electrical par ts and base appliance in liquids.

Storage

• Always unplug the unit before storage.

• Always make sure the unit is cool, clean and dry before storing.

Jarden Consumer Solutions of India Private Limited (hereinafter referred to as “JCS”)
warrants that, for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase of this product as
evidenced in the cash memo (“Warranty Period”), this product will be free from defects in
material and workmanship (the “Warranty”). Please preserve the warranty card and the cash
memo of the product duly stamped and signed by the dealer, as this will be required for
any claims under this Warranty.

• The rights and benets under this Warranty are additional to your statutory rights,

which are not aected by this Warranty.

• During the Warranty Period, JCS, at its sole choice, will either repair or replace this

product or any component of the product found to be defective free of cost through
(the dealer from whom the product was purchased or through the service center listed
in the card – business people to conrm), provided that:

- JCS is promptly informed of the defect;

- The product has not been altered in any way or subjected to misuse or repair by the
person other than a person authorized by JCS;

- This Warranty, duly lled, stamped and signed by the dealer is made available.

• The Warranty provided herein is towards the original purchaser and is not transferrable

to any third party.

• Any repaired or replaced product will be warranted on these terms for the remaining

portion of the Warranty in the country where the product was purchased.

• Liability for consequential loss or damage is neither accepted nor is it implied.

• This Warranty is in lieu of all others expressed or implied and does not cover the following:

a. If product was use in any manner other than the intended use.
b. If the product has not been used according to the instruction manual/user’s manual,

included with the product.
c. If the defects are caused by improper use or reckless use.
d. If the product was altered or repaired by anyone other than those authorized by JCS.
e. If installation of the product is not done as per the printed instructions provided

along with the product.
f. If the defects are caused by re, ood, and other act of god.
g. If the defects are caused by use of incorrect current or voltage or faulty electric

power supply.
h. Normal wear and tear of parts and accessories resulting from regular use.
i. Damage resulting from transportation, accidents, mishandling or negligence on the

part of the consumer.
j. The following part/components:

- Broken glass or ceramic parts

- Light bulb

- Accessories
k. If the product is put to industrial or commercial use.

• JCS will not be responsible for any delay in servicing due to non-availability of any

components or due to reasons beyond the control of JCS.

• Any failure of the product to perform any purpose other than the intended

purpose shall not be considered as a default under this warranty.

• In any event, if JCS becomes liable for damages incurred in connection with these

presents, then the liability of JCS will be limited to the amount equal to the sale

invoice amount paid by you.
Waste electrical products should not be disposed o with household waste. Please recycle
where facilities exist.
