It can be a challenge maintaining reliable communication with operators in mobile business applications. Equipment must be rugged, easy to use, able to store information and capable of providing conﬁrmation that messages have been received.

The MDT-850 is the robust, ﬁeld-proven solution for sending, receiving and storing messages. The MDT-850 is packaged to survive thermal extremes and vibration. A built-in power supply is provided that is capable of operating in a wide variety of vehicles.

The MDT-850 offers superior display functions, including a large LCD display, multilingual fonts and variable backlighting for low-light situations. It also has the ability to connect to a PC keyboard for easy message entry.

Programmable Functionality

The MDT-850 enables you the ﬂexibility to program almost any functionality you require. Its programming capability extends to the LCD display, allowing you to create simple menus for pre-deﬁned messages, and variable backlighting. A variable-volume annunciator can be programmed to alert operators to incoming messages.

Any text messaging tool must be able to be able to operate within the context of today’s multi-lingual world economy. The MDT-850’s built-in multi-lingual font library enables communication via text messaging in countries around the world.

Software Development Kit

All this ﬂexibility is at your ﬁngertips with the MDT-850 Software Development Kit (SDK), which offers system integrators a ﬂexible environment for custom application development and the tailoring of mobile data requirements. The MDT contains robust Flash memory that is large enough to handle complex programming tasks. Communication can be simulated through all interfaces and custom applications can be loaded directly into the Mobile Data Terminal’s Flash memory.
