Welcome

MOTOROLA ATR I X is a truly mobile desktop, connected
and by your side whenever you need it. It’s not
part-computer, it’s leave-your-computer-behind, thanks to
the revolutionary webtop application. You now have total
online computing power — from surfing the web with a full

™

Firefox browser, to creating and editing documents, to
accessing all your photos, music and films on a large
screen virtually anywhere.

Your phone

Most of what you need is on the touchscreen and four
simple keys on the front:

• Menu: Open menu options.

• Home: Go to the home screen.

• Back: Go back one screen.

• Search: Search your apps and the web.

Start

Let's get you up and running.

Caution: Before assembling, charging or using your
phone for the first time, please read the important
Safety, regulatory & legal information provided with
your phone.

Note: This phone supports apps and services that use a lot
of data, so make sure your data plan meets your needs. For

Create or log into a MOTOBLUR account to
get your contacts, messages and status all in
one place. Registration is secure and should
only take a few minutes. You can touch Menu to skip
setup, then touch > Accounts later.

Note: To use MOTOBLUR, please read the terms and
conditions during registration and, if you agree, choose to
continue.

Touchscreen

It's all in the touch:

• Touch: Choose an icon or option.

• Touch & hold: Open options.

• Drag: Scroll or move slowly.

• Flick: Scroll or move quickly.

The home screen is what you see when you turn on the
phone or touch Home from a menu.

Personalise

Go ahead, add your personal touch. Change your widgets,
wallpaper, ringtone and more—make it yours.

• Home screen: Touch and hold an empty spot to open

the Add to Home screen menu.

Tip: Touch and hold a widget to drag it to another spot,
another panel or the trash can.

• Ringtones & sounds: Touch menu > Settings
> Sound.

Apps

You can find all of your apps in one place. From the home
screen, just touch to open the app menu.

Want more? No problem: To download more apps,
touch > Market.

Your phone can tell you when there’s an updated app or
other phone software. To install the update, just follow the
instructions on your screen.

Calls

Your dial pad and call lists are just a touch or two away—no
menus needed. Just touch Dialler from the home
screen.

Tip: During a call, touch Home or Back to hide the
active call display and use other apps. To reopen it,
touch Dialler.

Now you have contacts like you've never had before,
downloaded from your accounts and backed up on
MOTOBLUR. View, search and use them your way.
Touch Contacts on the home screen.

Tip: When you flick or drag this list, a scroll bar appears
on the right. Drag the scroll bar to move the list more
quickly. To search the list, just touch Search and type
a name.

To edit a contact, open it and touch Menu > Edit.

Exchange work email (for settings, ask your IT
administrator) or Email for most other accounts (for
settings, ask the account provider).

The MOTOROLA AT RI X has a dual core 1GHz processor,

You can share media over a DLNA wireless connection. Or:

• The HDMI™ cable in your phone’s box opens

The Entertainment centre lets you show all your phone’s
photos, music and videos on that big screen in your living
room. Sit back and get comfortable, as your phone

Connect the webtop application

The webtop application lets you browse, or use web apps,
on a large screen in a full Firefox browser. Create and share
documents, spreadsheets and presentations, with online
tools like Google Docs.

To open the webtop application, connect your ATR IX to a
TV or display using optional docks. Docks also let you use a
full keyboard and mouse.

To connect a Bluetooth™ headset or car kit, touch
Menu > Settings > Wireless & networks >

To use a Wi-Fi™ network for fast Internet access and to

networks > Wi-Fi settings.

If your Wi-Fi network has other DLNA™ certified devices,
you can use them to play or transfer the videos, pictures
and music stored on your phone: Touch > DLNA.
