Leica möchte sich bei Ihnen für den Erwerb des Leica M-Adapter L
bedanken. Damit Sie alle Möglichkeiten dieses Adapters richtig nutzen

ENTSORGUNG ELEKTRISCHER UND
ELEKTRONISCHER GERÄTE

(Gilt für die EU, sowie andere europäische Länder mit
getrennten Sammelsystemen)

Dieses Gerät enthält elektrische und/oder elektronische Bauteile und
darf daher nicht im normalen Hausmüll entsorgt werden! Stattdessen
muss es zwecks Recycling an entsprechenden, von den Gemeinden
bereitgestellten Sammelstellen abgegeben werden.
Dies ist für Sie kostenlos. Falls das Gerät selbst wechselbare Batterien
oder Akkus enthält, müssen diese vorher entnommen werden und ggf.
ihrerseits vorschriftsmäßig entsorgt werden. Weitere Informationen zum

VERWENDBARE KAMERAS UND OBJEKTIVE

Der Leica M-Adapter L erlaubt die Verwendung von Objektiven mit Leica
M-Bayonett (siehe Liste) am Leica L-Bayonett .
Nicht verwendbar sind alle Leica M-Objektive, deren Aufbau nach hinten
um mehr als 11mm über die Bayonett-Auflagefläche hinausragt.

Haftung für eventuelle Schäden, die in solchen Fällen an Kamera und
Objektiv entstehen.

ANSETZEN DES ADAPTERS AN DIE KAMERA /
DES OBJEKTIVS AN DEN ADAPTER

1. Der Adapter wird wie ein Objektiv angesetzt, bzw. abgenommen.

2. Das Leica M-Objektiv wird genauso an den Adapter angesetzt, bzw.
abgenommen, wie es an Leica M-Gehäusen erfolgen würde.Weitere
Einzelheiten entnehmen Sie bitte den jeweiligen Kamera-. bzw.
Objektiv-Anleitungen.

Hinweis:

• Beim Einsatz des Adapters mit dem eingebauten Blitzgerät wird das

AF-Hilfslicht der Kamera nicht aktiviert. Gleiches gilt für Aufsteck­Blitzgeräte und ihre ggf. vorhandenen Hilfslichter.

FUNKTIONEN

Der Leica M-Adapter L besitzt auf beiden Seiten die Schnittstellen des
jeweiligen Kamera-Systems. Ist das verwendete Leica M-Objektiv mit der
6 Bit-Kodierung ausgestattet, überträgt er Objektivdaten an die Kamera

A. Scharfeinstellung

Mit Leica M-Objektiven steht ausschließlich die manuelle Scharfeinstel­lung zur Verfügung.

Hinweis:

Die am Objektiv eingestellten Entfernungen sind bei der Verwendung am
Adapter jeweils geringfügig kürzer als bei der Verwendung direkt an Leica
M-Kameras. So wird z. B. die scharfe Abbildung eines entfernten Motivs
unmittelbar vor dem mechanischen Unendlich-Anschlag des Einstellrings
erreicht. Dies ist technisch bedingt und kein Fehler.

B. Belichtungsmessung

Es stehen alle 3 Messmethoden – Mehrfeld, mittenbetont und Spot - zur
Verfügung.

C. Belichtungs-Betriebsarten

Es stehen ausschließlich Zeitautomatik (A) und die manuelle Steuerung (M)
zur Verfügung, d.h. weder Programmautomatik (P), noch Blendenautomatik
(T), noch die Motiv-Programme. Ist eine dieser Betriebsarten eingeschal­tet, wechselt die Kamera beim Ansetzen des Adapters automatisch zu
Zeitautomatik. Dementsprechend wechselt im Monitor auch die angezeigte
Betriebsart zu A. Als Blendenwert wird F 0.0 angezeigt.

order to make best use of all the opportunities offered by this adapter,
we recommend that you first read these instructions.

DISPOSAL OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC
EQUIPMENT

(Applies within the EC, and for other European countries with
segregated waste collection systems)

This device contains electrical and/or electronic components and should
therefore not be disposed of in general household waste. Instead it
should be disposed of at a recycling collection point provided by the local
authority. This costs you nothing. If the device itself contains replaceable
(rechargeable) batteries, these must be removed first and, if necessary,
also be disposed of in line with the relevant regulations. Further
information on this issue is available from your local authority, your local
waste disposal company, or in the store where you purchased this

COMPATIBLE CAMERAS AND LENSES

The Leica M adapter L allows you to use lenses with a Leica M bayonet
fitting (see list) on the Leica L bayonet.
Leica M lenses whose construction protrudes backwards by more than
11mm over the bayonet contact area cannot be used.

Important:

The use of lenses with a Leica M bayonet fitting from other suppliers is at
the owner's risk, i.e. Leica Camera AG accepts no liability for any damage
caused to the camera and the lens as a result.

ATTACHING THE ADAPTER TO THE CAMERA /
THE LENS TO THE ADAPTER

1. The adapter is attached to and detached from the camera in the
same way as a lens.

2. The Leica M lens is attached to and detached from the adapter in
the same way as it would be to the body of the Leica M. For further
details, refer to the relevant camera and lens manuals.

Follow the instructions in reverse to detach.

Note:

• When using the adapter with the built-in flash unit, the AF auxiliary

light on the camera is not activated. The same applies to the auxiliary
lights on external flash units.

FUNCTIONS

The Leica M adapter L has interfaces on both sides for the relevant
camera system. If the Leica M lens used has 6-bit coding, it transmits
lens data to the camera.

A. Focusing

Only manual focusing is available with Leica M lenses.

Note:

The distances set on the lens are slightly shorter when using the adapter
than when used directly on Leica M cameras. For example, sharp
depiction of a distant subject is achieved immediately before the
mechanical infinity stop on the adjusting dial. This is for technical
reasons and it not a fault.

B. Exposure metering

All three metering methods - multiple field, center weighted and spot

- are available.

C. Exposure modes

Only aperture priority (A) and manual control (M) are available, i.e.
automatic program (P), shutter speed priority (T), and the subject
programs are not available. If one of these modes is selected, the camera
automatically switches to aperture priority mode when the adapter is
attached. The mode displayed in the monitor also changes to A. F 0.0 is
displayed as the aperture value.

ne peut donc pas être jeté dans les ordures ménagères ordinaires. Il doit
être déposé à un point de collecte municipal adapté afin d'y être recyclé.

APPAREILS ET OBJECTIFS COMPATIBLES

L’adaptateur L de Leica M permet d’utiliser des objectifs avec la
baïonnette de Leica M (voir liste) sur le baïonnette L.
Aucun objectif Leica M dont la construction dépasse la surface de la
baïonnette de plus de 11mm vers l'arrière ne peut être utilisé.

MONTAGE DE L'ADAPTATEUR SUR L'APPAREIL PHOTO/
DE L'OBJECTIF SUR L'ADAPTATEUR

1. L’adaptateur se monte et se démonte comme un objectif sur
l’appareil photo.

2. L'objectif Leica M se monte et se démonte sur l'adaptateur
exactement de la même manière que sur le boîtier Leica M. Vous
trouverez d'autres informations dans les modes d'emploi des
appareils et objectifs correspondants.

Pour le démonter, effectuez la procédure inverse.

Remarque:

• Lors de l'utilisation de l'adaptateur avec le flash intégré, le flash

auxiliaire AF de l'appareil n'est pas activé. Il en va de même pour les
flashes montables et leur flash auxiliaire éventuel.

FONCTIONS

L'adaptateur L de Leica M est équipé de part et d'autre des interfaces
des systèmes d'appareils photo correspondants. Si l'objectif de Leica M
utilisé est équipé du codage 6bits, il transmet les données d'objectif à
l'appareil photo.

A. Mise au point

Avec les objectifs de Leica M, seule la mise au point manuelle est disponible.

Remarque:

Les distances réglées sur l'objectif sont légèrement inférieures lors de
l'utilisation de l'adaptateur que lors d'une utilisation directe sur les appareils
photo Leica M. Par exemple, un sujet éloigné devient donc net juste avant
d'atteindre la butée mécanique de l'infini de la bague de réglage. Cela est dû
à des raisons techniques et ne constitue pas une erreur.

B. Mesure de l'exposition

Les trois méthodes de mesure (champs multiples, pondération centrale
et spot) sont disponibles.

C. Modes d’exposition

Seuls l'Automatisme avec priorité au diaphragme (A) et la commande
manuelle (M) sont disponibles (et donc ni l'Automatisme programmé (P),
ni l'Automatisme avec priorité au temps de pose (T), ni le Programme du
sujet). Si l'un de ces modes de fonctionnement est sélectionné, l'appareil
photo sélectionne automatiquement l'Automatisme avec priorité au
diaphragme en cas d'utilisation de l'adaptateur. Le mode de
fonctionnement affiché sur l'écran devient donc également A. La valeur
F 0.0 est indiquée pour le diaphragme.
