BATTERY INSTALLATION:
1. Unlock the main cover from the rain sensor base and remove the cover.
Press to unlock
2. Remove the battery cover at the top of the rain sensor.
3. Insert 2 x AAA, IEC LR3, 1.5V batteries into the battery compartment, observing the correct polarity.
4. Replace the battery cover and the main cover on the unit.
Note: In the event of changing batteries in any of the units, all units need to be reset by launchin g the setting u p procedure s. This is because a random security code is assigned by the rain sensor at start-up. This code must be received and stored by the rain meter station in the first minutes of power being supplied to it.
Detailed Set-up procedures of the Rain meter and the Rain sensor refer to the main operation manual.
1
MOUNTING THE RAIN SENSOR
Fixed by screws
Horizontal panel
For best results, the rain sensor should be securely mounted onto a horizontal surface about 1 meter, 3.25 Ft. or higher above the ground and in an open area away from trees or other coverings where rainfall may be reduced causing inaccurate readings.
Note: You will need to occasionally remove leaves and other debris from the rain sensor.
When securing into place, check that rain excess will not collect and store at the base of the unit but can flow out between the base and the mounting surface (test by pouring clean water).
After mounting the rain sensor and placing battery, the rain sensor is now operable. For testing purposes, very slowly pour a small amount of clean water into the rain sensor funnel. The water will act as rainfall and will be received and displayed at the base station after about 2 minutes delay i.e. when the reading interval is reached.
2
MAINTENANCE AND CARE:
3
4
Extreme temperatures, vibrations and
shocks should be avoided as these may cause damage to the unit and give inaccurate forecasts and readings.
When cleaning the display and casings,
use a soft damp cloth only. Do not use solvents or scouring agents as they may mark the LCD and casings.
Do not submerge the units in water.
Furthermore, fix all parts in place where the units are adequately protected against moisture and rain.
Immediately remove all low powered
batteries to avoid leakage and damage. Replace only with new batteries of the recommended type.
Do not make any repair attempts to the
unit. Return them to their original point of purchase for repair by a qualified engineer. Opening and tampering with the unit may invalidate their guarantee.
Do not expose the units to extreme and
sudden temperature changes, this may lead to rapid changes in forecasts and readings and thereby reduce their accuracy.
