OBSTRUCTION LIGHTING SYSTEM
Kyocera Solar, Inc (KSI) has developed the 88799 packaged system to provide obstruction
lighting for towers and struc tures. The 88799 is a complete packaged solar power system and
Obstruction Light.
The system uses an FAA type L-810 single red LED obstruction light. Power to the light is
su pplied by a 12 VDC sol ar power sys tem consisting of a 130 Wp solar module, two 99 Ah
sealed maintenance -fre e bat t erie s, and a te mpera ture - compensated ch arge control ler with
day/night de tecti on. The entire system i s designed for quick insta llation and can be mo unted
to a 2” SCH40 pole (2.375” O.D.).
An LED light is use d for low power consumption. Day/night detectio n of the obstruc t ion
conditions. The solar regulator also prevents the battery from being overcharged or deep-
discharged. An integral temperature sensor automatically adjusts the battery charge voltage
to compensate for temperature fluctuations for extended battery life.

The 88799 packaged system is the optimal choice for obstruction lighting applications where
reliability is a must.
