The following changes were made so that the DP relay PWB can be removed without detaching the rear upper
cover (No.1) in order to make the DP-771 setup easier. Accordingly, the procedures to set up the DP-771 and to
attach the FAX memory DIMM were partly changed. Please refer to the page 3 and after for the new procedures.
Also, some attention is required when replacing the rear upper cover. Therefore, please refer to [Field Measures]
below.
Content of Changes (Details are described on the next pages.)
1) The opening of the rear upper cover was widened and the lid for the DP relay PWB (No.2) was added so that
the DP relay PWB can be attached to the main PWB in the main unit only by detaching the lid.
2) The rear upper cover and its neighboring parts were changed due to the change 1) above.

It shall be attached to the main PWB in the main unit when setting up the DP.

Field Measures:
- Please note that the procedures when setting up the DP-771 and attaching the FAX memory DIMM were
changed for the affected machine. (Please refer to the page 3 and after for the new procedures.)
- When replacing the rear upper cover, please use the old rear cover or the set for service (No.5) for the
machine before the change and the new rear upper cover for the changed machine with the DP-771. For
the changed machine without the DP-771, either the new or old rear upper cover can be used. (However,
the lid (Y) may have to be reattached depending on the old or new type of the rear upper cover.)

Rear upper cover
1. The opening at the center of the cover (that was used for installing the
FAX memory DIMM before) was widened to enabling installation of the DP
relay PWB to the main unit with the new rear upper cover.
2. The opening (X) for installing the FAX memory DIMM was added for the
next generation model. Accordingly, the lid (Y) was relocated.
3. The cut-out (Z) was moved toward the machine right side by approx. 2.5
mm for common use of the part with the next generation model.

Lid for the DP relay
PWB and the screw to

The lid (No.2) to cover the opening of the new rear upper cover was added.
(It is fixed by 4 pcs. of the screw (No.3).)

Controller box top
cover
The part contacting with the lancing around the opening of the new rear
upper cover (No.1) was cut off.

Set for service
The set for service (No.5) including the new rear upper cover (No.1), the lid
for the DP relay PWB (No.2), 4 pcs. of the screw to fix the lid (No.3) and the
new controller box top cover (No.4) was newly set up for the easy
replacement of the rear upper cover (No.1) in field.

(Notes) When attaching the new rear upper cover (No.1) for the machine before change, the lid for the DP relay PWB (No.2),
4 pcs. of the screw to fix the lid (No.3) and the new controller box top cover (No.4) are required.
(*1) Old rear upper cover (No.1) can be used for the model without the DP. However, the lid (Y) must be reattached to the
old location for the changed machine.
The old rear upper cover (No.1) can be attached to the changed machine with the DP. However, there is no functional
compatibility since the way of detaching/reattaching the DP relay PWB is back to the former method.
(Detachment of the old rear upper cover is required when detaching/reattaching the DP relay PWB.)
(*2) No.5 is the set for field which includes the new rear upper cover (No.1), the lid for the DP relay PWB (No.2), 4 pcs. of
the screw to fix the lid (No.3) and the new controller box top cover (No.4).
