Storing the Printer
Unplug the printer when storing it for an extended period. Protect it from
extremes in temperature and humidity, and from dust.
Relocating Your Printer
Occasionally, you may have to move your printer to a different location, either
nearby or to a distant location. To avoid damage to your printer, we advise
you to follow the next instructions very carefully.
1 Turn off your printer.
2 Remove the power cord and all interface cables.
3 If you are moving to a distant location, follow the instructions for repacking
the printer. (See “Repacking the Printer” on page 2).
4 Relocate the printer.
WARNING!
Your printer weighs approximately 62 lbs (28 kg). Be sure to have
help when lifting and moving it.
5 Unpack and set up the printer in its new location.
Use the unpacking and setup instructions in the Installation Guide.
6 Reconnect the power cord and all interface cables.

Repacking the Printer
Attention
Failure to follow these instructions could result in voiding your warranty.
If you need to relocate or ship your printer after it’s been installed, follow the
procedures in this chapter to prevent damage to the printer and to keep your
warranty valid.
Attention
KONICA MINOLTA cannot be held responsible for damage to your
printer during shipment that results from the improper packaging of
your printer. You must use the instructions given in this section before
repacking the printer in its original shipping carton with the original
packing materials. If you do not have your original outer packaging, you
must order the appropriate Replacement Packaging Kit:
If you’re relocating or returning the printer, you must also request a
magicolor 2300 Series Repacking Kit 2600733-100. This kit includes
special packaging for the OPC drum cartridge and transfer belt unit.
These supplies must be replaced prior to shipping the printer. If you
need replacement packaging, in the Americas, call the Spares
department at (251) 633-4300 extension 2530 and request the kit(s)
above. For locations outside the Americas, refer to
printer.konicaminolta.com
If you have been instructed to return the printer to KONICA MINOLTA
PRINTING SOLUTIONS U.S.A., INC. by a customer support
representative in the Americas, be sure to write the RMA (Return
Merchandise Authorization) number you received on the outside of both
the printer and consumables cartons before shipping them. If the RMA
number is not prominently visible on the outside of the return inventory,
we will not accept receipt.

uninstall and repack your printer, or you can upgrade to on-site service.

Repacking the Printer2
What’s Involved?
Repacking your printer for shipment involves the following steps. Each is
described in more detail in the following sections.
A. Turn off the printer, unplug the power cord, and remove the
interface cables.
B. Remove the media and the tray 1 media support.page 4
C. Remove the duplex option and lower feeder unit, if attached,
and repack them separately.
D. Remove the waste toner bottle, plug the openings, and
dispose of it according to your local regulations.
E. Remove the OPC drum cartridge and repack it.page 7

B. Remove the Media and the Tray 1 Media Support
1 Remove the media.
Place it in its original packaging and store in a cool, dark place on a level
surface. Avoid moisture, excess humidity, direct sunlight, excess heat
(above 95° F/35° C), and dust.
2 Lift the media support from the three
holes in Tray 1 and remove the media
support.
C. Remove the Options (if Attached)

If you don’t have a duplex option installed, skip to the next section.
1 If you have a lower feeder unit
attached, you first need to open the
lower right-side door.
2 Pull the right-side door release
lever, and open the right-side door.
