Pre-Installation / Site survey. Contact Client (end user) prior to installation:

Confirm power 120 VAC - 15 amp dedicated

Confirm network jack ( RJ-45 ) and cables (length)

Request a network IP Address for the system

System arrival date?

Is the copier still on the skid? If yes, who may assist to remove? (Fork truck, moving company )

Media ( at least one 500 ft roll )

Adequate space for printer installation and maintenance? ( see install Specs )

Hardware (approx. 1 hour)

STEP: 1 Check for all required system items. (guides, touch panel, toner, etc)

STEP: 2. Check the space requirements.

STEP: 3 Check for correct power and network jacks. (inform client if incorrect at this time)

STEP: 4 Ask for network connection assistance.

Schedule network administrators time and ask for this information now, as it may take several hours to obtain the IP Address dependent on company.

STEP: 5 Install Copier

See printer installation section of the service manual.

Print simple test patterns from engine, no calibration at this time.

STEP: 6 Enter Key Codes into IPS

Enter the Key Codes if applicable from the document provided with the system. (See the

“Help / Configuration Section” in the User Guide CD)

Software (approx. 2 hours)

STEP: 7 Test Scan and Copy.

Perform a quick test for function of copy and scan modes.

STEP: 8 Options - Network the KIP3000. (enter IP Address)

Connect network cable

See the “KIP 3000 Connectivity Document” supplied with the KIP 3000.

STEP: 9 OptionsInstall Windows Driver, Request, and AutoCAD etc.

Please show the administrator this procedure and show the user guide at this time for future reference.

Print from Request, Windows App and ACAD.

Set correct time, time zone and date on controller for proper sleep mode function from

Request – VNC.

Retrieve the scan performed above in Request.

Calibrating the System. (approx. 1 hour)

STEP: 10 Calibrate the Printer.

Set Printer Density as required in the GUI (Note: INI values can be from 3 – 15 for each level of the GUI)

If needed - on the IPS are two files that can be printed. One for smaller documents and one for larger documents (see test Print buttons in IPS , ?, Service). Print these files to calibrate

the Leading Edge and Trail Edge and Page Size. Additional print sizes are also located on the Service Manual CD R3 for specific roll used by this client (send via Request). See

Technical Manual for Service Modes, for the list of addresses for the LE, TE and Image placement.

YOU MUST HAVE AT LEAST 4mm on the LE and 6mm on the TE WITH NO IMAGE

FAILURE TO DO THIS WILL CAUSE IMAGE ISSUES! EXTEND THE PAPER LENGTH IF “EDGE TO EDGE” PRINTING IS NEEDED.

STEP: 11 Calibrate the Scanner.

Please see the IPS for Master LE and TE adjustments

STEP: 12 Run clients copies.

Confirm correct calibration of Printer, Scanner and IPS

STEP: 13 Save Settings.

Apply the Service History envelope to the back lower rear of the printer.

Set Shade sheet in back lower rear for future use.

Complete the required forms for warranty.

User Training (approx. 2 hour)

SHOW THE CLIENT THE USER DOCUMENTATION ON THE USER CD.

Demonstrate:

-Copy

-Scan

-Job List

-Add paper

-Add toner

-KIP Request / KIP PrintNet ( is so Installed )

-Drivers ( if so Installed )
