If
anythingismissingordamaged,
notify
your
dealer
immediately.
Kenwood
recommends
that
you retain
the
original carton and
packing
materialsincase
you need
to
ship
the
KCA-RC100MR in
the
future.
Warning
To
prevent
injury and/orfire,
take
the
following
precautions:
·Insert
the
unit
all
the
way
until itisfully
lockedinplace.
Otherwiseitmay
fly
outofplace
during
collision
and
other
jolts.
·To
prevent
short circuit,
never
putorleave
any
metallic
objects
(e.g.,
coinsormetal

turn
off

power

installation,donot

screws
except
for
the
ones
provided.
Using
improper
screws
might
resultindamagetothe
main
unit.
·When
drilling a
holeinthe
boattofit
the
brackets,
make
sure
nottodamage
the
fuel
tank,
brake
tube,
wiring
harnesses,
etc.onthe
other
side.
Note:Ifyou
experience
problems
during
installation,
consult
your
Kenwood
dealer.Ifthe
unit
does
not
seemtobe
working
right,
try
pressing
the
reset
buttononthe
head
unit first. Ifthat
does
not
solve
the
prob-
lem,
consult
your
Kenwood
dealer.
Cleaning
the
Unit.
If
the
faceplateofthis unitisstained,
wipe
it off
withadry
soft
cloth,
suchasa
silicon
cloth.Ifthe
faceplateisbadly
stained,
wipe
itoff
withacloth
moistened
withaneutral
cleaning
detergent
and
then
wipe
the
detergent
off.
Note:
Applying
spray
cleaner
directlytothe
unit
may
affect
its
mechanical
parts.
Wiping
the
faceplate
withahard
clothorusing
avolatile liquid
suchasthinneroralcohol
may
scratch
the
surface
or
erase
characters.

'Installing
the KCA-RC100MR
The KCA-RC100MR connectstothe
pigtail
cable located on
the
backofthe
Kenwood KTS-MP400MR or KTS-300MRCDreceivers via
the
6-meter
cable extension. Before you
install
the
KCA-RC100MR, be sure theCDreceiver is
off
and
disconnected
from
the
battery.
Optional
Junction
Box
Determine the best location to
mount
the KCA-RC100MR.Besure to measure the distance between the
mounting
location and the
CD,
receiver to
make
certain the location is in reachofthe 6
meter
cable. For longer length installations than the supplied cable provides, we recommend you con-
sult your dealer. Also
make
sure
that
the location allows access to the backofthe remote and
mounting
brackets and
that
the location is free and
clear
of
obstructions, wiring, or other systems
that
could be harmed when mounting the remote.
You
can use the
template
locatedatthe bottomofthis instruction sheet to cut a hole and
mount
the KCA-RC100MR remote. We recommend you
make
a copyofthe
template
(at 100%).
Insert the remote and
mounting
bracket then tighten the screws
from
the back.
Use
the 6-meter extension cable and connect the remote to the pigtail cable on the backofthe receiver.
Operating
the
KCA-RC100MR
The KCA-RC100MR is a hardwired remote
that
can send and receive commands
from
Kenwood KTS-MP400MR or KTS-300MR marine
CD
receivers. The KCA-RC100MR cannot control alloftheCDreceiver's functions; however,itdoes give you a broad rangeofcontrol. Functions
that
can be controlled through the remote include:

The Power button will turn
theCDreceiverOnor Off.
The
FM+/AM/-
is used to select AM/FM broadcasts.
Use
the
Left/Right
Arrow keys to scroll through stations. Note:
You
can scan channels using the
left/right
arrow buttons only when theCDreceiver isinAuto Mode 1.Tomanually search each channel, theCDreceiver
must
be in Manual mode.
To
use the remote to find the preset channels on theCDreceiver, the receiver
must
be in Auto Mode 2 (see receiver manual for more details).
Press the TU/SR button to switch
from
SIRIUS satellite radio to
AM/FM
broadcasts.
The CD/CH button will control the
CD
located in theCDreceiver or
CDs
located in a changer connected to the receiver.
Use
the
left/right
arrows to
scan through
CD
tracks.Tolocate a disc in a multi-discCDchanger, useUpFM+/AM- buttons.
For
MP3 files burned on disc, use the FM+ button to move through folders in an upward direction; use the AM- button to move through folders in a downward direction. The KCA-RC100MR will display station numbers, track numbers and will stream song titles
if
the receiver is connected to SIRIUS Satellite radio. The remote display also
has a Door Open indicatorfeature
that
lets you know when the receiver'sCDdoor is open.
