Improving on the design of the previous smoothing
process that used software to control the halftone
screen, the bizhub PRO C6500 features newly developed
technology that controls the screen by adjusting the
exposure time of the engine’s lasers. Even text at small
point sizes are not only legible, but very clear.
Preventing Colours from Misaligning
Optical sensors monitor the colour registration mark on
the transfer belt, allowing for automatic correction of
misalignment between colours. Doing so helps to
improve the precision of colour output.
Text Enhancement
During printing, text data is isolated from image data and
processed to best enhance reproduction. Detailed
outlines are precisely defined, while reversed text and fine
text are optimised to clearly stand out.
Stable Image Quality without Colour Aberration
The bizhub PRO C6500 can take on long print runs
without highly noticeable variation in image quality
between the first and last sheet. The transfer belt
features an optical sensor to monitor the density of toner

The particles in Simitri HD toner are extremely small and

Better Registration Accuracy for Two-sided Printing
The bizhub PRO C6500 features new technologies for high-accuracy two-sided printing,
while ensuring page numbers and images on two-page spreads are always aligned.
New ADU Design
Built on a sturdy foundation of steel, the new ADU
(Automatic Duplex Unit) delivers precise, stable
performance. An additional conveyance roller is used to
reduce the skew of thick and coated paper, while
increasing overall paper feed capability.
Improved Image Alignment Sensors
The position of each sheet that passes through the PF601 Paper Feed Cabinet or the LU-202 Large Capacity
Unit is checked by a centring detection sensor. Then, the
sensor in the ADU checks the centring detection on the
reverse side of the sheet for image position in relation to
the measurement of the leading edge. This combination
of sensors helps to ensure high registration accuracy.
Fine-tuning Image Placement and Registration
Right from the touch panel, users can make slight
adjustments to image position in 0.1mm increments with
image shift, while magnification can be adjusted
separately for length and width in 0.01% increments. An
exclusive chart can also be printed and measured for
accuracy, enabling users to make on-screen registration
adjustments by tray when necessary.

The optional FD-501 gives you the ability to fold output
in six ways: centre-fold, letter fold-out, letter fold-in,
double-parallel, gatefold, and Z-fold. 2- and 4-hole
punching is also available, and users can set the
position of the holes to suit each job. Furthermore,
covers can be inserted to separate one set of output
from the next.
SD-501 Saddle Stitcher
Create high-quality saddle stitched booklets up to 200
pages (50 sheets) long with the SD-501. After printing,
output up to A3 in size can be sent to the SD-501 to be
folded and trimmed, giving deliverables a neat,
consistent look. Additionally, creating centre- or
letter-folded documents is also automated.
FS-503 Staple Finisher
Automatically stapling up to 100 sheets of paper in
one of four positions (horizontal corner or 2-point,
vertical corner or 2-point), the FS-503 is ideal for
production professionals who regularly print a large
volume of long documents. The FS-503 also trims the
excess length from staples and folds their protruding
ends for a clean, consistent finish every time – even
on booklets with few pages.

Giving you the ability to create, adjust, and use custom spot colours, Spot-On simplifies the process
of job-specific colour management. Spot colour data for DIC, TOYO, HKS, and Pantone are preinstalled and spot colours can be edited and saved with CMYK values.
Full Output GCR
After CMYK values are converted to CIE colour space, CMYK values are recreated with appropriate
output GCR instructions. This process makes dark areas look less muddy by reducing cyan,
magenta, and yellow toner in equal increments and replacing it with black toner to achieve the
desired shade of grey.
Black Overprint
With the black overprint feature turned on, black text can be added on top of a background image
without a white outline caused by image creep. The quality is comparable to that of an offset printer.

The bizhub PRO C6500 features a large touch-panel with an intuitive,
colour interface. Despite the wealth of functions available, guide
messages easily direct users through every step, from selecting paper
size to setting finishing options. The panel rests on a swiveling arm that
can be swung and tilted to accommodate the requirements of every user.
Front Access for Easy Maintenance
Beyond easy replenishment of paper and
toner supplies, user-friendly front access
also allows simple maintenance to
internal parts such as the paper feed path
and output areas. In the unlikely event of
a paper jam, it can quickly be cleared
without moving the machine.
Easy-grip Parts
Following the precepts of universal design, all trays feature handles
that enable comfortable opening and closing with either an underhand
or overhand grip. This idea even extends to the RADF, which is also
fitted with a handle that requires minimal effort.
Improved Document Visibility
The guidelines on the RADF are made
from a transparent material, while the
dark body colour contrasts with output.
This consideration allows users to
check for forgotten documents at one
glance, even from a low angle.

A high-volume system to facilitate external document finishing
The 7,500-sheet capacity complements the LS-501 Large Capacity Stacker,
whose 5,000-page stacking capability allows large runs to be carted away for
external finishing. This system also allows for automated, inline stapling –
perfect for businesses in need of light production infrastructure.
