Place the device on a stable surface.

Do not block the openings on the device with any object. Reserve a minimum space of 10 cm around the device for heat dissipation.

liquid enters the device, stop using the device immediately, power it off, remove all the cables connected to it, and then contact an authorized service center.

During thunderstorms, power off the device, and then remove all the cables connected to it to prevent it from getting damaged due to lightning strikes.

2 Product Overview
2.1 Pr
oduct Features
The HUAWEI HG256 home gateway (hereinafter referred to as the HG256) provides a user-friendly GUI, complemented by a fresh and unique appearance. On the network side, it provides a high-speed Gigabit Ethernet interface for wide area network (WA N ) access. It supports the wireless local area network (WLAN) function on the user side and provides four Ethernet interfaces through which you can conn devices, such as personal computers (PCs) and Internet Protocol (IP) set-top boxes (STBs), to the Internet. It supports the following functions:

Accessing the Internet through a Gigabit Ethernet (GE) interface to pro high-speed broadband access

Provides the Voice over IP (VoIP) service and supports value-added services.

IP quality of service (QoS).

The HG256 is fully compatible with the TR-069 standard of the DSL For provides ideal remote management and diagnosis functions.
