USE OF DETERGENTS AND ADDITIVES
Which detergent to use?
T o ensure you get the best possible wash results from your machine, it is important to use the correct powder or liquid according to the wash load type. T o maintain the appearance of your clothes, it is advisable to use different detergents for different washes whether for whites, coloureds or delicates.
Whites
We recommend the Ariel range which is biological and designed to provide excellent cleaning and stain removal even at lower temperatures.
Coloureds
For coloured washloads, you should use a detergent such as Ariel Color which is designed to clean while maintaining the original colour. Ariel Color does not contain bleach.
Delicates
When washing delicate items such as woollens, you should not use heavy duty detergents, but products which are specially designed to clean and care for fine fabrics. Dreft Automatic is suitable for woollens and other delicates.
Laundry Bleach
For additional stain removal you may wish to use Ace Gentle Bleach which is used in addition to your chosen detergent. Ace Gentle Bleach is suitable for all washable fabrics, especially silks, woollens and coloureds.
Non Biological
If you prefer to use a non biological detergent, which does not contain enzymes, Fairy Non Biological gives good cleaning and stain removal.
Lenor Care
Lenor Care provides softness and freshness. It also helps to protect clothes from fading to keep them looking newer for longer. One capful softens a whole load - always add to the fabric conditioner section of the drawer before the wash programmes - never pour directly onto fabrics.
Bounce
Bounce is a sheet conditioner which works in the heat of the dryer to leave clothes smelling and feeling as fresh and free from static as if they had been dried outside on the line.
Which Form should I use?
Today’s washing products are available in powder and liquid form and in “traditional” or “compact” formats. Which form you use is down to personal choice.
Traditional Powders
Measure and pour the powder directly into the dispenser drawer. Do not sprinkle onto clothes in the machine drum.
Compact Powders
Measure and pour the powder into the dosing ball* and place on top of the laundry, towards the back of the machine. Alternatively, the powder can be poured into the dispenser drawer.
Compact Liquids
Measure and pour the liquid into the liquid dosing ball* and place on top of the laundry, towards the back of the machine. Liquids are also very convenient for pre-treatment of stubborn stains.
If you are using a dosing ball in a washer
*
dryer, it must be removed before carrying out a drying programme.
Fabric Conditioners
There are two types of fabric conditioners, one for the washing machine and one for the tumble/washer dryer.
Guidelines on measuring detergent according to soil type and water hardness are shown on all detergent packs.
Thank you for choosing an Ariston product. This washer is reliable and easy to use. We suggest you read your owner's manual carefully. This will help you become familiar with your washer and its functions in order to obtain years of trouble free performance.
Saves while it washes
The double action wash penetrates so deeply that at just 60°C you obtain the same results you would normally obtain at 90°C with a traditional washer.
Controlled consumption
The machine automatically adjusts the amount of water used in the wash to the size of the load, giving optimum use of water, energy and detergent.
Double-action wash
Clothes are soaked in water and detergent, water then “rains” steadily through the clothes.

E. Rinse Hold button
This function interrupts the cycle so that the laundry is left soaking in water before the spin cycle. This function is extremely useful because it stops delicate or synthetic fabrics from creasing (for example when one has to wait several hours before removing the laundry load). It should be used only with the programmes for synthetic fabrics and woollens. IMPORTANT: Before opening the door, drain away the water by setting knob A on "drain", the number 18 must appear on the window N. To carry out the spin cycle, simply press button E.
F. Care wash button
This button reduces the speed of the drum during washing giving a more delicate wash cycle.
G. Extra Rinse button
This function increases the quantity of water during the rinse cycles of the cotton and linen programmes. Use of this function is recommended to improve rinsing results when washing full loads and large quantities of detergent are used.
