INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Thank you for purchasing a quality Hellwig Product.
PLEASE READ THIS INSTRUCTION SHEET COMPLETELY BEFORE STARTING YOUR INSTALLATION
D-Shaped Poly-Bushing
and U-Plate
BOLT SIZE: 3/8” = 20-30 ft. lbs. – 7/16” =35-45 ft. lbs. – ½” = 50-70 ft. lbs. – 9/16” = 70-90 ft. lbs.
SAFETY: BEFORE STARTING YOUR INSTALLATION, BE SURE TO SET PARKING BRAKE AND CHOCK TIRES.
NOTE: TO EASE INSTALLATION AND TO PROPERLY ADJUST BAR, THE WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE MUST BE
ON THE SUSPENSION, AS IF DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. DO NOT RAISE VEHICLE BY FRAME.
NOTE: THIS ANTI-SWAYBAR IS DESIGNED TO REPLACE THE EXISTING FACTORY INSTALLED REARSWAY
BAR USING THE FACTORY END-LINKS AND U-PLATE MOUNTING HARDWARE.
1. Remove the factory installed rear anti-sway bar. Keep all hardware attaching bar at axle, these parts will be reused later.
2. Apply a thin layer of grease inside D-shaped poly-bushings to help reduce any possible road noise.
Then install D-shaped poly-bushings onto bar in same location as bushings on factory bar. Place U-plates over
D-bushings and attach bar to axle using factory mounting hardware removed earlier. LEAVE LOOSE at this time to
allow for adjustment later.
3. Center the bar under vehicle.
4. Attach end of sway bar to factory End-Links and torque to above specifications.
5. Bounce vehicle checking for clearance on all undercarriage components, readjust as needed.
6. Drive vehicle a few miles and recheck your installation, then periodically thereafter.
