GENERAL INFORMATION

All WN/WNS products are suitable for use outdoors
in severe conditions of rain and water spray as well as

dust contamination to IP55 as defined by
BS EN 60529.
All WN/WNS products are for use with a 230V 50Hz

supply.

The WNS enclosure (single module unit) has a plastic
protection piece in the cable entry port. This should
be removed in the case of sockets, but can be left in
place when there is no front cable entry. Removing

this piece will not reduce the IP rating below 55.

INSTALLATION

This product should only be installed by a competent
and authorised person (e.g. a qualified electrician) in
accordance with the instructions supplied and in
accordance with the appropriate clauses of the current
edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations.

Important: Always disconnect the mains supply via

the switch in the main fuse board or consumer unit
before commencing any electrical work. Ensure that
all terminal screws are fully tightened and that earth
wires are sleeved and that no bare wires are showing.

The mounting surface must be flat and free from
grease, dirt or loose material.
The sockets or spur units should be removed prior to
fixing the enclosure to the wall - by removing the two
front securing screws.
The enclosure can be offered up to the wall and the
fixing points marked through the mounting holes. At
least two diagonal fixing points should be used. Size 8
screws should be used to fix the base to the wall.

Removing and replacing the lid of the WN
double module products

- To remove the lid pull the lid to the right and lift the

left-hand side.

- To replace the lid engage the right-hand hinge first
then the left-hand.

Note: The WNS single unit lids cannot be removed.

Squeeze the two catches as shown and lift the lid.

Pull the lid open at the two catches as shown.

Cleaning

If the unit needs cleaning it should be disconnected
from the mains supply. Wipe the surface with a dry
cloth. Do not use a damp or wet cloth or a solvent
based cleaning agent, as this may damage or impair
the safety of the product.
