INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR
70WATT SON WALL PACK
MODELS: WALLP70SON,
WALLP70SONPC,WALLP52PL & WALLP52PLPC
THESE INSTRUCTIONS SHOULD BE READ CAREFULLY
AND RETAINED AFTER INSTALLATION FOR FURTHER
REFERENCE AND MAINTENANCE.
SAFETY
1. Before installation maintenance or lamp replacements,
ensure that the mains supply to the luminaire is switched
off and the circuit supply fuses are removed or circuit
breaker turned off.
2. It is recommended that a qualified electrician is consulted
or used for the installation of this luminaire and installed to
the current edition of the IEE wiring regulations.
3. Check that the total load on the circuit including when this
luminaire is fitted does not exceed the rating of the circuit
cable, fuse or circuit breaker.

This luminaire is of class I construction and must be earthed.
• IP65 rated suitable for external applications.
• F marked, suitable for installation on to normal flammable
surfaces.
• 230V/240V rated.
• CE Approved.
INSTALLATION
1. Hinge the diffuser off from the base by releasing the captive
screws around the edge of the luminaire, and remove the
reflector by releasing the four screws. Care should be taken
with the PL variant as the reflector contains the control gear.
2. Fix the luminaire to a suitable surface. Using 1 of the 2 types
of fixing methods available:-
1)Conduit BESA box semi fixing holes located in the centre
of the base.
2)Using the 4 wall fixing semi holes provided.
3. Sealant should be applied around the fixing screw heads to
reduce water ingress if the luminaire is to be mounted
externally.
4. Secure the supply cable into the luminaire through the
hole(s) provided ensuring that a cable gland, grommet or
sealing compound is used to maintain the IP rating of the
luminaire.

. Terminate the cable into the terminal block mounted on the

ear tray ensuring correct polarity is observed and the

uminaire is earthed, green and yellow sleeving should be
l
used on all bare earth conductors. Heat resistant cable or
sleeving is recommended if the cable runs passed the
ballast.
6. Re-fit the reflector and fit the lamp/s into the lamp holder/s,
o not over-tighten the SON lamp.

. Close the diffuser do not over-tighten the screws.
