Application Notes
When used in GAI- Tronic s SmartS eries ca binet, this unit can p ower 40 M onitored Inp ut Modules (MI M)
or eight Monit ored Relay Modules (MRM) or 4 0 Audio Distr ibution Modules (AD M). I f MRMs a re used
in combinat ion with MIMs or ADMs, the total load r equ irement must be calculated to ensure that the
8.3A output is not exceeded.
• A line cord is att ached to t he u nit for c onnection to a standard 120 V ac duplex output. Do not change
or alter the line cord.
• The power supply module inside the chassis is equipped with an internal fuse protection which is not
accessible. Do not attempt to repair or replace the fuse—call GAI-Tronics for service.

WARNING

handling this device and be sure that the ac p ower is not c onnec ted during wiring.
Wiring
Depth c learance behind the mounting rails should be at least twelve to fourteen inches for wiring.
1. Run p ower c ord to t he ac power ou tlet which will power this unit , but do not connect power unt il the
entire installa tion is complete.
2. Run the dc power conduct ors from the devices requiring 12 V dc p ower, t o the output terminals as
shown in Figure 2.
