Upgrade 4way to 8way (June 1999)

Upgrade kit is required to expand CPU nodes on M850i/860i

CPU Cabinet Upgrade Kit *Available from June 1999 When upgrading from 4way pedestal system to 8way, rackmounting is required.

To connect additional internal Storage (M800i)

SCSI Card or RAID Card is required to connect hard disks. Onboard SCSI can be used to connect to SCSI devices in 5inch bays. A SCSI Card (GP5-125) is required to mount DLT(GP5-DL351),Tape unit(GP5-ML301). Storage System (GP5UR1DC2,GP5UR1DC3) is required when more than 7HDDs are installed. 14HDDs in total can be mounted in a Pedestal. A SCSI Card (GP5-126) is required to connect up to four HDDs in an Ultra2 wide Storage System (GP5URIDC3) Therefore, two sets of SCSI Card and Cable are required to connect more than five HDDs in a Storage System.

Mounting additional memory

(M851i/861i)

Memory expansion must be performed in bank units by mounting four similar capacity DIMMs in one bank. Memory expansion must be performed by mounting bank units in ascending order of memory capacity alternatively on Master and Slave node.

(M840i/850ic/850i/860i)

Memory must be expanded in bank units by mounting four similar capacity DIMMs in one bank. Memory is expanded in bank units by mounting DIMMs in ascending order of memory capacity alternately on two RAM base cards.

(L800i)

Mount the same capacity DIMM's in units of four. (Mounting of DIMM's with different capacities or a set of less than four DIMM's is not allowed) Mount the DIMM's in ascending order of their capacity. Use DIMM slots in the order from bank A (J1 to J4) to bank B (J5 to J8), bank C (J9 to J12), and bank D (J13 to J16)

(G800i/C800i,C300i)

The mother board has four slots for RAM modules (including standard equipment), Please install RAM modules in the order of the slot number.

(teamserver C3xxi has three slots)

Restriction of Operating System (M800i)

Windows NT Server 4.0 supports up to 4CPUs and 4GB of memory. Windows NT Server 4.0 Enterprise Edition is required for more than 4 CPUs and 4GB of Memory.

How to mount internal HDDs (L800i/G800i)

18.2GB HDD cannot be mounted in bay #7 and #8. However 4.3GB / 4.5GB / 9.1GB HDD can be mounted in all bays.

This System Configuration Guide (V.3) introduces new PentiumIII 500MHz models, G870i and C870i and withdraws all old models. The shipment of G870i and C870i commences at End/March and End/April respectively. Please refer to http://www.fujitsu.co.jp/hypertext/InfoPro/mspl/teamserver/config.html for old models.
