Battery take-back
Batteries must not be discarded into domestic waste.
The consumer is legally required to return batteries
-
after use, e.g. to public collecting centers or to battery
istributors.
d
- Contaminant-containing batteries are labeled with the
ign “crossed-out trashcan“ and one of the chemical
s symbols. Used batteries should be disposed environmentally friendly and should not be discarded into
omestic waste. Your dealer is legally required to take
d back old batteries.
Rechargeable battery notes
- Rechargeable batteries should not be played with by children. Never leave rechargeable batteries lying around; they could be swallowed by children or pets.
- Rechargeable batteries must never be short-circuited, disassembled or thrown into fire. This leads to a danger of explosion!
- Leaking or damaged rechargeable batteries can cause chemical burns when they come into contact with skin. For this reason, please make use of suitable protective gloves.
- Rechargeable batteries should only be replaced by structurally identical rechargeable batteries from the same manufacturer. Normal batteries must not be used since these are not rechargeable.
- Make sure the rechargeable batteries are inserted with the correct polarity.
- For long periods of time of non-use (for example, storage), remove the inserted rechargeable batteries to avoid damages via the leaking rechargeable batteries.

3. Intended Use
B
The solar lamp is designed for outdoor as well as indoor use. The light color of the ball changes between 7 colors. If required, it is possible to preset (i.e. constant color) the light color. The installed set of accumulators is charged by means of an external solar cell or the enclosed wall plug transformer. When operated in solar mode, the lamp will automatically be activated at dusk and deactivated at dawn. If operated via wall plug transformer (only suitable for indoor use), the light ball will permanently illuminated and the accumulator will be charged. In case of a power blackout, the lamp will be operated via the accumulator and will thus serve as an “emergency light”. 4 high performance LEDs are used as illuminant. Those LEDs ensure a high luminosity with low current consumption and a service life of more than 100 000 hours.
Note: After longer periods without solar radiation, the accumulator is charged insufficiently via sunlight. However, that does not mean that the solar lamp is defective. Please wait for the next sunny days and the lamp will again work properly.
The accumulators will have to be exchanged every two year on average.
4. Putting into Operation
1. Please carefully take all parts out of the package.
2. Unscrew the ball anti-clockwise from the bottom part (illustration 1).
3. Insert the plug of the accumulator pack into the socket on the board (illustration 2).
Attention: The light emitting diodes will light up as soon as the plug is inserted. In order to avoid any damages to the eyes, please do not look directly into the light. Note: The plug is protected against reverse polarity. Do not use any force when inserting the plug.

5. Operation with Solar Module
1. Insert the cable of the solar module through the bore in the bottom part and attach the socket onto the plug.
Note: The plug is protected against reverse polarity. Do not use any force when inserting the plug.
2. Now search a sunny place within reach of the cable where you can set up the solar module.
3. Insert the plugs at the other end of the cable into the socket on the back side of the solar module and screw the cap nut tight.
4. The solar module may be inserted into the ground with the ground spike. Via the ball joint it is possible to optimally face the solar module towards the sun.
5. Now screw the ball back onto the bottom part clockwise. The lamp is now ready for operation.
Note: The duration of illumination strongly depends on the intensity and duration of solar radiation during the day. During the winter months, the duration of illumination will generally be shorter. In case the light should not give light on the first evening, please wait for a sunny day.

6. Operation with Wall Plug Transformer
10. Troubleshooting
1. Insert the plug of the wall plug transformer into the socket on the bottom side of the board (illustration 5) and the wall plug transformer into a power socket. The accumulator is now charged via the wall plug transformer and in case of a power blackout, the ball will be operated via the accumulator and the lamp will remain lit.
2. Now screw the ball back onto the bottom part clockwise. The lamp is now ready for operation.
5.
Attention: The wall plug transformer is only suitable for indoor operation!
7. (Pre-) Setting of the Light Color
The light color of the ball may be preset via a switch on the board. As soon as the color that shall be preset is indicated, please immediately move the switch into the position “Stop” within the first 5 seconds. The color is now preset. If you would like to activate the change of colors, simply move the switch back.

8. Setting of the Duration of Illumination
The duration in color change mode may be adjusted in two levels. A jumper on the board serves for the setting. If the jumper is inserted, the individual duration of illumination in the color change mode is set to approx. 15 seconds If the jumper is not inserted, the duration of illumination is preset to approx. 60 seconds.
9. Exchange of the Accumulators
1. Unscrew the ball from the bottom part anti-clockwise.
2. Unplug the plug of the accumulator pack from the board (illustration 8).
3. Push in both noses of the accumulator compartment (illustration 8) and open the accumulator compartment.
3. Exchange the accumulators by freshly charged identical in construction accumulators.
4. Now close the lamp in reverse order.
Note: Used batteries or accumulators must be disposed of in a non-polluting way and do not belong into the domestic waste. Your dealer is required by law to take back old accumulators.
