To enable the Universal Adapter to be used with UVette® in as many spectro­photometers as possible, it is first necessary to determine the light center height of the
spectrophotometer.

If no specifications for the light center height are available from the
manufacturer, it is possible to determine this height using the

measuring gauge:

• Select a wavelength of 550 nm.

• Insert the measuring gauge vertically into the cuvette holder (in its

original condition) until it reaches the bottom.

• Read the height of the light spot.

The most common light center height is 15 mm, which enables the
adapter to be used without being altered.

If the light center height is 8.5 mm, it is necessary to loosen the four screws in the
adapter to enable the black block to be removed.
When the black block is removed, the light center height is 8.5 mm.
