•SAFETY WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS

Read and follow all instructions and safety precautions before use. Improper use can result in ﬁ re, serious injury and damage to property.

Components

Use only with compatible components. Should any compatibility questions exist, please refer to the product instructions, component instructions or contact the appropriate Horizon Hobby ofﬁ ce.

Flight

Fly only in open areas to ensure safety. It is recommended ﬂ ying be done at radio control ﬂ ying ﬁ elds. Consult local ordinances before choosing a ﬂ ying location.

Propeller

Keep loose items that can become entangled in the propeller away from the prop. This includes loose clothing or other objects such as pencils and screwdrivers. Keep your hands away from the propeller as injury can occur.

Batteries

Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions when using and disposing of any batteries. Mishandling of Li-Po batteries can result in ﬁ re causing serious injury and damage.

Small Parts

This kit includes small parts and should not be left unattended near children as choking and serious injury could result.

•SAFE OPERATING RECOMMENDATIONS

• Inspect your model before every ﬂ ight to ensure it is

airworthy.

• Be aware of any other radio frequency user who may

present an interference problem.

• Always be courteous and respectful of other users in

your selected ﬂ ight area.

• Choose an area clear of obstacles and large enough to

safely accomodate your ﬂ ying activity.

• Make sure this area is clear of friends and spectators

prior to launching your aircraft.

• Be aware of other activities in the vicinity of your ﬂ ight

path that could cause potential conﬂ ict.

• Carefully plan your ﬂ ight path prior to launch.

• Abide by any and all established AMA National Model

Aircraft Safety Code.

•REGARDING MOTOR AND BATTERY SELECTION

This model has been tested using the components listed in the Power Systems section of this manual. Using components that exceed the output of the listed components may place excessive loads on the airframe. This could result in the failure of the airframe in highspeed or high-load situations.

Komponenten

Fliegen

Propeller

Halten Sie lose Gegenstände die sich im Propeller verfangen können weg vom Propeller. Dieses gilt auch für Kleidung oder andere Objekte wie zum Beispiel Stifte oder Schraubendreher.

Halten Sie ihre Hände weg vom Propeller, es besteht akute Verletzungsgefahr.

Akkus

Folgen Sie immer den Herstelleranweisungen bei dem Gebrauch oder Entsorgung von Akkus. Falsche Behandlung von Li-Po Akkus kann zu Feuer mit Körperverletzungen und Sachbeschädigung führen.

Kleinteile

Dieser Baukasten beinhaltet Kleinteile und darf nicht unbeobachtet in der Nähe von Kindern gelassen werden, da die Teile verschluckt werden könnten mit ernsthaften Verletzung zur Folge.

•MOTOR- UND AKKUAUSWAHL

Dieses Modell wurde mit den Komponenten getestet die in dem Kapitel Antriebe aufgeführt sind. Sollten Sie Komponenten verwenden die nicht aufgeführt sind, könnte dieses zu einer erheblichen Belastung des Rumpfes führen. Das könnte zu einem Versagen des Rumpfes bei hohen Geschwindigkeiten oder bei starken Belastungen führen.

L’hélice

Les batteries

Suivez toujours les instructions du fabricant de vos batteries. Une mauvaise manipulation d’une batterie LiPo peut entraîner un incendie causant de graves dégâts matériels et des blessures corporelles.

Petites pièces

Ce kit contient des petites pièces qui ne doivent pas être laissées à la portée des enfants, ces pièces sont dangereuses pour eux et peuvent entraîner de graves blessures.

Elica

Tenere gli oggetti liberi (vestiti, penne, cacciaviti, ecc.) lontano dall’elica, prima che vi restino impigliati. Bisogna fare attenzione anche con le mani perché c’è il rischio di ferirsi anche gravemente.

Batterie

Quando si maneggiano o si utilizzano le batterie, bisogna attenersi alle istruzioni del costruttore; il rischio è di procurare incendi, specialmente con le batterie Li-Po, con danni e ferite serie.

•BEFORE STARTING ASSEMBLY

• Remove parts from bag.

• Inspect fuselage, wing panels, rudder and stabilizer for damage.

• If you ﬁ nd damaged or missing parts, contact your place of purchase.

If you ﬁ nd any wrinkles in the covering, use a heat gun (HAN100) and covering glove (HAN150) or covering iron (HAN101) with a sealing iron sock (HAN141) to remove them. Use caution while working around areas where the colors overlap to prevent separating the colors.

This model has been designed to keep the weight at a minimum. When tightening the covering, work carefully to avoid inducing warps or changing the alignment of the structure.

• Charge transmitter and receiver batteries.

• Center trims and sticks on your transmitter.

• For a computer radio, create a model memory for this particular model.

• Bind your transmitter and receiver, using your radio system’s instructions.

IMPORTANT: Rebind the radio system once all control throws are set. This will keep the servos from moving to their endpoints until the transmitter and receiver connect. It will also guarantee the servo reversal settings are saved in the radio system.

• During the course of building your model we suggest you use a soft base for the building surface. Such things as a foam stand, large piece of bedding foam or a thick bath towel will work well and help protect the model from damage during assembly. This is not shown in the instructions to provide the greatest detail in the photos.

• When referencing directions (up, down, left, right top and bottom) these directions are in relationship to the pilot sitting in the cockpit of the aircraft unless noted otherwise.

Use medium grit sandpaper to lightly sand the control horns where they ﬁ t into the slots of the control surfaces. Prepare all the control horns at this time.

Check the ﬁ t of the ﬁ berglass control horn in the slot in the aileron and ﬂ ap. The hole in the aileron control horn for the clevis will align with the hinge line, and both horns will ﬁ t ﬂ ush in the slots. Use a felt-tipped pen to mark the front and rear edge of the control horns on the aileron and ﬂ ap.

Remove the control horns from the ﬂ ap and aileron. Apply low-tack tape around the slot for the ﬂ ap and aileron control horn. Position the tape so it is 1/32 inch (1mm) away from the sides of the slot, as well as from the marks made in the previous step.

Use 5-minute epoxy to glue the control horns into the slots for the ﬂ ap and aileron. Use a square to make sure the control horns are perpendicular to the control surface. Also check again to make sure the hole in the aileron control horn is directly over the hinge line.

After around 3 minutes, before the epoxy cures, carefully remove the tape from around the control horns. Pull the tape away from the horn, being careful not to disturb the position of the control horn. This will allow the epoxy to ﬂ ow out slightly, leaving a ﬁ llet between the control horn and control surface.

Prepare the aileron servos by installing the rubber grommets and brass eyelets as shown in the radio or servo instructions. Center the aileron servo using the radio system. Use side cutters to remove any arms from the horn that may interfere with the operation of the servo. The aileron linkage will be connected to the hole in the servo horn 1/2 inch (13mm) from the center of the arm.

Remove the cover from the wing for the ﬂ ap and aileron servos. Set the cover aside for the ﬂ ap servo at this time.

Use a pencil to draw two lines on the cover. The ﬁ rst line is along the bottom of the cover, 3/32 inch (2.5mm) from the edge. The second line is 25/32 inch (20mm) from the side of the cover as shown. This will center the servo horn in the slot when using the recommended servos.

Sand the 10mm x 7mm end of the block using medium grit sandpaper. This will be the end glued to the plate in the next step.

Position the servo between the two blocks. Leave a small gap between the servo and servo cover so vibrations from the airframe are not transferred directly into the servo. Use a pencil to mark the locations for the two servo mounting screws on the blocks.

Use a #1 Phillips screwdriver to thread an M2 x 8 washer head self-tapping screw into each of the holes for the servo cover mounting screws. Remove the screws, then apply 2–3 drops of thin CA in each of the aileron servo cover mounting holes. This will harden the surrounding wood, making the screws more secure when they are installed.

Use a hobby knife with a #11 blade to cut 1/4-inch (6mm) pieces from the silicone tubing.

M2 x 25

Assemble the aileron linkage using the two pieces of tubing from the previous step, two M2 nuts, two metal clevises and the M2 x 25 threaded rod. The length of the rod will be adjusted in the following steps.

Remove the tape holding the aileron in position. Use the radio system to center the aileron servo. Connect the metal clevis to the aileron servo arm. The remaining clevis connects to the aileron control horn. Adjust the length of the linkage so the aileron is centered when the servo is centered. Once the length of the linkage has been adjusted, slide the tubing over the forks of the clevises to keep them from accidentally opening in ﬂ ight. Use needle nose pliers to tighten the nuts against the metal clevises.

Prepare the ﬂ ap servos by installing the rubber grommets and brass eyelets as shown in the radio or servo instructions. Center the ﬂ ap servo using the radio system. Use side cutters to remove any arms from the horn that may interfere with the operation of the servo.

Use a hobby knife with a #11 blade to cut 1/4-inch (6mm) pieces from the silicone tubing.

Montieren Sie die Klappenanlenkung mit den 2 Schlauchstücken die im Schritt davor gefertigt wurden, 2 mm Muttern, zwei Gabelköpfen und einem 2 mm x 25mm Gewindestück. Die Länge der Anlenkung wird im nächsten Schritt eingestellt.

Assemblare il rinvio per i ﬂ ap usando due pezzi di tubetto tagliati nel passo precedente, due dadi M2, due forcelle in metallo e una barretta ﬁ lettata M2 x25mm. La lunghezza dell’insieme verrà regolata nei passaggi successivi.

Remove the tape holding the ﬂ ap in position at the trailing edge of the wing. Use the radio system to center the ﬂ ap servo. Connect the metal clevis to the outer hole of ﬂ ap servo horn. The remaining clevis connects to the ﬂ ap control horn. Adjust the length of the linkage so the ﬂ ap is set to the mid/takeoff position. Once the length of the linkage has been adjusted, slide the tubing over the forks of the clevises to keep them from accidentally opening in ﬂ ight. Use needle nose pliers to tighten the nuts against the metal clevises.

Entfernen Sie das Kreppband dass die Klappe sichert. Zentrieren Sie mit dem Sender das Klappenservo. Schließen Sie den Gabelkopf in das äußere Loch des Servohornes an. Den zweiten Gabelkopf schließen Sie am Klappenhebel am. Stellen Sie die Länge des Gestänges so ein, dass sich die Klappe in mittlerer / Start Position beﬁ ndet. Haben Sie die Länge eingestellt, schieben Sie bitte die Silikonschlauchstücke als Sicherung über die Gabelköpfe um sie vor versehentlichen Öffnen zu schützen. Kontern Sie dann mit einer Zange die Muttern gegen die Gabelköpfe.

Retirez l’adhésif de masquage qui maintien le volet en position. Utilisez la radio pour placer le servo au neutre. Connectez la chape métallique au bras du servo. La deuxième chape se connecte au guignol du volet. Réglez la longueur de la tringlerie de façon que le volet soit en position milieu/atterrissage. Une fois que la longueur est ajustée, glissez le morceau de durite sur les fourches des chapes pour éviter leur ouverture accidentelle durant le vol. Utilisez une pince à becs ﬁ ns pour serrer les écrous contre les chapes métalliques.

Togliere il nastro che teneva i ﬂ ap in posizione. Usare il radiocomando per centrare i servi. Collegare una forcella in metallo alla squadretta del servo. L’altra forcella andrà collegata alla squadretta dei ﬂ ap. Regolare la lunghezza del rinvio in modo che il ﬂ ap sia nella posizione centrale di decollo. Una volta regolata la lunghezza portare i tubetti in silicone sulle forcelle per evitare che si aprano accidentalmente in volo. Usare pinze con becchi stretti per stringere i dadi contro le forcelle.



Set the switch at the transmitter to the UP ﬂ ap position. Adjust the ﬂ ap system values of the transmitter for the up position until the ﬂ ap is aligned with the aileron. This will be the UP ﬂ ap position.

Stellen Sie den Schalter am Sender auf die -Klappen eingefahren- Position. Stellen Sie die Werte am Sender so ein, dass die Klappe mit dem Querruder auf einer Linie liegt.

Placez l’interrupteur des volets en position HAUTE. Effectuez le réglage dans la fonction des volets de votre émetteur pour aligner les volets par rapport aux ailerons. Il s’agira de la position HAUTE des volets.

Mettere l’interruttore dei ﬂ ap sul trasmettitore nella posizione che corrisponde ai ﬂ ap in alto (UP). Regolare il valore sul trasmettitore in modo il ﬂ ap sia allineato con l’alettone. Questa è la posizione UP dei ﬂ ap.



Set the switch at the transmitter to the DOWN ﬂ ap position. Adjust the ATV at the transmitter for the down position until the ﬂ ap is 25mm below the aileron. This will be the DOWN ﬂ ap position.

Stellen Sie den Schalter am Sender auf die -Klappen ausgefahren- Position. Stellen Sie die ATV (Weg) Werte am Sender so ein, dass die Klappe 25mm unter dem Querruder steht.

Placez l’interrupteur des volets de l’émetteur en position BASSE. Ajuster la valeur de course à l’émetteur de façon à baisser les volets à 25mm en dessous des ailerons. Il s’agira de la position basse des volets.

Î Because there can be minor differences in

control horn and servo positions, do not connect

the linkage as described in steps 14 and 15 to the

opposite flap until you have checked the throws. Doing

so may cause the servo to bind in the UP position,

which could cause damage to the flap servo.

Î Auf Grund von kleinen Unterschieden bei den

Positionen von Servo und Ruderhorn verbinden Sie

noch nicht die andere Klappenseite wie in Schritt

14 und 15 beschrieben. Prüfen Sie bitte erst

den Weg damit sich das Servo in der -Klappen

eingefahren- Position nicht verklemmen kann.

Î Comme il peut il y a avoir quelques légères

différences dans le positionnement du guignol et du

servo, ne connectez pas les tringleries comme décrit

aux étapes 14 et 15 aux gouvernes opposées sans

avoir contrôler les courses. Le servo risquerait de

bloquer en position HAUTE et d’être endommagé.

Î Poiché potrebbero esserci delle piccole differenze

tra la posizione delle squadrette e quella dei servi,

non collegare il rinvio come descritto nei passi 14

e 15 al flap opposto finché non si sono verificate le

corse. Può succedere che il servo nella posizione

UP vada a spingere a fine corsa, danneggiandosi.

Î You may have to fine-tune both flap linkages up or down so they align at all three positions: up, middle, and down. It is very important to use servo

arms positioned at the same angle on the splines of

the servo so the travel will match in all positions.

Use a ﬂ at ﬁ le to make a 1/4-inch (6mm) wide ﬂ at area on the gear near the end of the axle strut for the setscrew to rest. This will keep the wheel collar from vibrating loose in ﬂ ight.

Feilen Sie mit der Feile eine 6mm breite Fläche nah am Ende des Fahrwerkdrahtes, um der Madenschraube halt zu geben. Dieses soll verhindern, dass sich das Rad löst.

Utilisez une lime plate pour réaliser un méplat de 6mm à l’extrémité de la jambe. Ceci évitera le desserrage accidentel de la bague causé par les vibrations durant le vol.
