GROUNDING STRAP
When converting an existing C7050 UV flame detector
to xWatch, a grounding strap must be installed on the
terminal block to ensure proper grounding of the Index
Pin. Refer to Figure 1 for installation guidance.
1. Remove power from the C7050, then remove the
housing cover. Remove the UV module to expose
the terminal wiring block.

NOTE
The UV module requires proper disposal, or return
to the factory for disposal.
2. Remove the existing index pin and discard.
3. Remove the terminal block retaining screw and
spacer from the location shown. Discard these
items.
4. In place of the removed terminal block retaining
screw, install the provided threaded standoff. Tighten
securely.
5. Put one end of the grounding strap over the threaded
portion of the index pin as shown. Place the supplied
spacer over the threaded end of the new index pin
and install where the old index pin was removed.
Leave the index pin finger tight to permit alignment
of the other end of the grounding strap with the
threaded standoff.
6. Secure the grounding strap to the threaded standoff
with the supplied screw and lockwasher. Tighten
securely.
7. Tighten the index pin securely.
