The DHT-700DV system features an advanced all-in-one DVD player / 5-channel A/V receiver combination with the new Dolby
Digital/Pro Logic II decoder, which lets you enjoy the full ambience of 5.1-channel sound from a wealth of program sources.
With the DHT-700DV and Dolby Pro Logic II, you can convincingly re-create the realism of 5.1-channel surround sound from
any conventional 2-channel source, as well as DVDs recorded in full digital 5.1-channel surround.
The DHT-700DV also features a beautifully designed and critically matched 5-channel speaker system, complete with a powerful
active subwoofer. The DHT-700DV’s elegant, space-saving design blends harmoniously in any home theater decor.

Dolby Pro Logic II Decoder

• Enjoy any 2-channel source in stunning 5.1-channel surround playback.

The Dolby’s newly developed Pro Logic II decoder reproduces dynamic 5.1-channel surround sound from any 2-channelsource: DVD, VHS, satellite and

television broadcasts, radio, and CDs. Dolby Pro Logic II uses matrix decoding technology that has been dramatically improved over Pro Logic.

With Pro Logic II, for instance, the Surround (Rear) channels are in stereo (only mono with Pro Logic) and playback covers the full frequency range (only up

to 7 kHz with Pro Logic). These improvements let you enjoy a wide variety of 2-channel sourceswith the exciting effects of 5.1-channel surround sound.

Auto Decode

When you insert a disc, the convenient Auto Decode function automatically detects the sound format (Dolby Digital,

DTS, or music CD) and starts playing the disc. It also detects digital broadcast satellite (DBS) signals, so that

when you are receiving a 5.1-channel broadcast, for instance, you will automatically hear it in

full surround sound. With Auto Decode, you can just enjoy the programs and not

worry about making manual settings of your own.

2-channel stereo playback

5.1-channel surround playback

When simulating 5.1-channel surround from 2-channel sources, the sound that Dolby Pro Logic output through

the Surround speakers was only a monaural synthesis of the two stereo

channels (left diagram). With Pro Logic II, however, the output from the Surround speakers is in stereo, giving you an enhanced sense of space (right diagram).

Equipped with both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 channel decoding, the DHT-700DV provides thrilling surround sound with

the thousands of Dolby Digital and DTS encoded DVDs, as well as the growing library of DTS 5.1 channel music recordings available on CD.

Enjoy your favorite music CDs, CD-Rs,
and CD-RWs with Denon’s legendary
audio playback quality.

• Enjoy CD-R/RW discs encoded in MP3.

The DHT-700DV also automatically plays back discs
encoded with MP3 music files, that you or others have
recorded on to CD-R or CD-RW.

On-screen Display

The DHT-700DV lets you make system settings via
displays on your TV screen from the comfort of your
chair. The settings are also simpler to adjust thanks
to the DHT-700DV's new Quick Set-up feature that
lets you set the system to either 5.1-channel or
2-channel playback, which then automatically sets
the sound space settings accordingly. Of course, you
can at any time fine-tune the settings on-screen to
more closely match your particular listening space.
In this case, making the settings from your chair has
the added advantage of listening to the effects
while you adjust the settings.

Super Sub Alias Filter

• High Resolution Picture.

The video decoder uses a Super Sub Alias Filter that
extends the video band into the high range while also
suppressing noise from outside this band. This results
in high picture quality playback with enhanced
horizontal resolution and greater detail.

Auto Function Button

When you stop a DVD movie or music program in the
middle and have even turned off the DHT-700DV's
power (leaving it in standby mode), pressing the
Auto Function button on the remote controller lets
you continue the program in the same playback
mode from where it was stopped.

Personal Memory Plus

The DHT-700DV’s Personal Memory Plus function
allows you to store the parameter of the surround
mode for further sound source customization. A single
push of any source button will instantly recall the
settings stored for each of the sound sources.

7 Ambient Sound Effects to

he DHT-700DV provides 7 original surround modes to let
you enjoy an ambient effect that matches the sound
source you are playing: 5-CH STEREO, JAZZ CLUB, MONO
MOVIE, ROCK ARENA, VIDEO GAME, MATRIX, VIRTUAL.

2-channel Virtual Surround
A/V System

The DHT-700DV is equipped with the Virtual Surround
mode that lets you enjoy the spacious sound effects of
Dolby Digital through two stereo speakers if you are
not able to install all the speakers required for true

5.1-channel playback. Denon uses a proprietary digital
processing system to recreate surround sound from
just the two front channels. Virtual Surround also gives
you superior sound effects with optimum sound stage
when you use headphones instead of the speakers.

Control

The main buttons on the remote
controller are illuminated in fluorescent
colors for easy operation in the dark
or during playback.

Elegant Half
Mirrored Dot Matrix
Display

The half-mirror feature of the DHT-700DV's front
display panel allows the normally dark area on the
unit to subtly reflect light or surrounding objects,
enhancing the DHT-700DV's aesthetic appeal in your
room. The number and text information appears on
the surface of the mirror in dot matrix clarity, making
it much easier to read.

Wealth of A/V Inputs and Outputs

• Include S-Video and Component
Video Output

The DHT-700DV provides 3 sets of video and 4 sets of
audio terminals to connect a video player, television,
or other video and audio devices. High resolution
Component and S-Video outputs are provided for
connecting the DHT-700DV to TV sets equipped with
these types of inputs. A Composite video output is also
provided.
