Important information
1. Read the instruction booklet carefully before using the appliance.
2. Before using, check that the mains voltage corresponds to the voltage indicated in the
specifications label under the handle.
3. Connect your cleaner only to power outlets with a minimum of 10 amps V, and make sure the
outlet is earthed. For machines with double insulation (see symbol on specifications
label) earthing is not necessary.
4. Always disconnect the appliance from mains outlet when not in use or before any
maintenance or care operation.
5. Do not clean the appliance with trichloroethylene or other solvents.
6. Do not tug on the power cord to disconnect the appliance from mains outlet.
7. Do not leave your cleaner unattended while it is running. Keep it away from the reach of
children and persons unfit to use it.
8. Do not run the appliance over the power cord as this may damage the insulation.
9. Do not use to pick up flammable liquids.
10.Do not use the appliance to pick up matches, hot ash, or burning cigarette ends.
11.This cleaner is intended for domestic use only, and must be used in accordance with the
operating instructions contained in this booklet.
12.Particular care must be taken when using the appliance on stairs.
13.Be especially careful when using the appliance on stairs.
14.Do not attempt to use the appliance if it appears to be faulty.
15.For all repairs, always have your appliance serviced at an authorized Technical Service
Centre.
The manufacturer reserves the right to change the specifications of the appliance and/or accessories
without prior notice.
Use only original spare parts and accessories so as to maintain the appliance in good working order
and NOT invalidate the warranty.
Caution: make sure that all the fabrics and surfaces to be cleaned are colourfast and sturdy enough
for extraction cleaning. Do not use the cleaner on delicate hand-woven rugs and carpets.
If in doubt, spot-test in an inconspicuous area and wait until completely dry before checking the
results.
When using for the first time, employ a low concentration shampoo solution
The manufacturer disclaims any liability for damage to rugs, carpets, chairs, upholstery, etc., resulting
from the use of detergents other than those provided with the appliance.

Re-attach motor unit to the tank, making sure
to line it up with the notch over the suction inlet
port (fig. 5).
Remove the external solution tank (removable)
using the handle (fig.6).
Fill both compartments.
Open the hatch marked , fill with approx.
2.5 l. water and close. Open the hatch marked
, pour in a quantity of shampoo and
water using the doses indicated on the bottle.
The total volume should be approx. 2.2 l.
(fig.7).
To do this, proceed as follows: if for example
the quantities recommended are 1 part
shampoo to 20 parts water, fill the tank marked
with the symbol with water, checking
the level on the indicator located on the outside
of the tank (fig.8) to notch 9 (corresponding to
approx. 2 l.) and then top up to the Max level
with shampoo.
ASSEMBLYING AND SETTING
UP YOUR MACHINE
DRY VACUUM
The numbers in brackets in the text refer to the
description of the appliance given on page 4.
Caution: while assembling and preparing
the appliance for use, make sure that it is
not plugged in.
Remove the motor unit by releasing the
catches (fig.1).
Lift off motor unit by the easy-grip handle and
remove tools from inside the tank. Make sure
that the polyurethane foam filter (35) required
for extraction cleaning and wet vacuuming is
fitted over the motor housing (21) (fig.2).
Remove the curved steel handle by moving the
ends out of the slots (first one side, then the
other) (fig.3).
Remove the diffuser cone from inside the tank.
Pour around 2 litres of water into the tank; replace
the diffuser cone, attach the steel handle and
replace the motor unit
(fig.4).

Fit selector (9) to the motor unit, pushing it
in until in place (fig.9).
The selector knob lets you select either
extraction cleaning or rinsing. The symbol
on the selector indicates plain water only
(rinsing) whilst the symbol indicates
the shampoo + water solution (extraction
cleaning) (fig.10).
Connect the flexible hose (1) to the suction
inlet, rotating the coupling clockwise (bayonet
joint). Connect solution injector (22) into the
tank, pressing it in until it clicks in place
(fig.11).
Attach solution dispenser to the flexible hose
using the plastic clips (19) ( fig.11B).
Fit the two extension tubes (25), connecting
one end to the hose handgrip and the other
end to the transparent “wash-dry” attachment
(26). To make cleaning with the extension
tubes easier, fit them with the extra handgrip
(38) (fig.12).
Connect solution dispenser (previously fitted to
the “wash-dry” attachment) to the hose
handgrip, and attach the clips to the extension
tubes (fig.13).
Yo ur extractor cleaner is now ready to clean
carpets and rugs.
ELECTRONIC MODEL
Models equipped with electronic suction
control have a selector to adjust suction power
to the type of fabric to be cleaned or the dirt to
be removed during extraction cleaning or other
operations (fig.14).

NOTICE: noise level. After setting up your
machine, you may notice an increase of the
noise level for a few seconds. This is not due to
a defect in the machine but to the water
starting to circulate for the first time. Should the
noise continue for more than 15 seconds,
check that the suction inlet tube is correctly
connected to the motor unit. When the water in
the tank runs out, the noise level will increase
once again. At this point, switch off the
machine and proceed to refill the tank as
described in the instruction booklet.
Important: the pump noise level acts as an acoustic warning that the water in the tank has run
out.
Window cleaning attachment
(where supplied)
For instructions on how to use this attachment,
refer to the instructions supplied with it (fig.15).
Plug in the appliance.
Operate the pump, pressing the pump button
(fig.16).
General tips
To remove particularly stubborn dirt,
proceed as follows:
- Turn the selector (9) to extraction
cleaning .
- Depress the pump button only and use
the spray trigger (16) to spray shampoo
solution on the surface to be treated.
- Wait one or two minutes to allow the
shampoo to soak in completely.

OPERATING THE APPLIANCE
Extraction cleaning
The shampoo solution is sucked up from the
tank by a pump and sprayed through a nozzle
onto the surface to be cleaned; the shampoo
penetrates the fibres, dissolving even the
most stubborn dirt. The transparent wash-dry
attachment vacuums up the dirty water, which
is then collected in the wet tank, leaving the
surface clean and almost dry. Extraction
cleaning deep-cleans rugs, carpets, fabrics
and floors, restoring their colour, improving
their appearance and making them last
longer.
CAUTION: never press the pump button
when the shampoo solution tank is empty
or when the cleaner is being used as a wet
or dry vacuum cleaner. In the event that the
pump is used incorrectly (appliance
operated without shampoo for more than 15
minutes) a safety device automatically
shuts off the pump to prevent damage.
When this happens, wait 30 minutes before
starting up the appliance again.

- Press the on/off switch which activates
the extraction function and pass over the
surface operating only the extraction
function (do not use the dispenser lever)
(16).
- Rinse the surface, following the
instructions given in the paragraph headed
“RINSING OPERATIONS ”.
To deep-clean heavily soiled surfaces with
large quantities of debris and/or dust (crumbs,
soil, coffee powder, etc.), proceed as follows:
a) begin by dry-vacuuming following the
instructions contained in the “Dry vacuum”
section;
b) after you have removed most of the dust
and debris, proceed with extraction cleaning to
deep-clean the surface.
If the fabric has previously been treated
with a shampoo different from the product supplied with this appliance, excessive foam may
form inside the dirty-water tank. If the foam
should begin to overflow and leak out, switch
off your cleaner and empty the dirty-water tank
(see Care and Maintenance Operations).
Always use the original no-foam shampoo.
When the dirty-water tank is full, a ball
cock will shut suction off automatically and the
number of motor revolutions will increase . At
this point, switch off the motor , disconnect the
machine and empty the dirty-water tank (see
Care and Maintenance Operations).
If the solution injector and dispenser (7)
(8) should disengage from the solution tank,
make sure they are refitted correctly, as illustrated in fig. 17.

The suction hose handgrip is equipped
with a manual sliding air suction power regulator (fig.18).
The tank marked with the symbol can
be filled with a mixture of water and shampoo
and used as a second tank for extraction cleaning, a particularly useful feature when cleaning large surfaces.
If you wish to then use the rinse function,
remember to remove any shampoo solution left
in the solution tank and then refill it with plain
water.
Extraction cleaning
Cleaning textile surfaces
(carpets, rugs, etc)
To clean carpets, rugs, mats, woven or textile
surfaces in general, proceed as follows:
- Fit the “wash-dry” attachment (26) and go
over the surface to be cleaned, while at the
same time pressing the spray trigger.
- Release the spray trigger and go over the
same area several times, vacuuming only
(fig. 19).

Caution: never press the pump button when
the cleaner is being used for wet
vacuuming.
When not using the appliance for a fairly long
time, it is advisable to flush out the system with
plain water, no detergent added, before storing
the machine, to avoid blockages due shampoo
residues in the pump. Fill the tank with water
only, and operate the pump depressing the
spray trigger for a few minutes.
Wet vacuuming
This function will help you to cope with those
little emergencies such as:
- unclogging a drain or a blocked sinks, minor
floods (washing machines, dishwashers), spilt
liquids, defrosting refrigerators and freezers,
etc.
Make sure that the polyurethane foam filter
(35) is fitted on the motor housing (21) fig.2.
Fit the cleaning attachment most suited to the
type of operation to be performed onto either
the extension tube or directly onto the
handgrip. Use the crevice nozzle, multipurpose nozzle and the transparent wash-dry
attachments with or without squeegee (27).
Plug in your appliance and switch on by
depressing the on/off switch
Caution: never press the pump button when
the cleaner is being used for wet or dry
vacuuming.
Cleaning hard floors
(ceramic tiles, fired clay tiles, marble, linoleum,
vinyl, etc.)
Fit the floor brush/wiper accessory (27) to the
large transparent wash/dry attachment sliding
it on from left to right (fig.20), and proceed as
described in the section dealing with textile
surfaces.
Cleaning upholstery
(armchairs, sofas, drapes, curtains, car
upholstery, etc.)
Use the small transparent “wash-dry”
attachment (28), fitting it directly onto the
handgrip and connecting the solution
dispenser (already attached to the small washdry attachment) to its coupling located under
the handgrip (fig.21). Follow the steps
described in the section dealing with textile
surfaces.
Rinsing Operations
After extraction cleaning, to rinse the surface
previously treated with the detergent, rotate
selector (9) to the position and press the
spray trigger (fig.22).
In this way, the surface is treated with water
only; by vacuuming either at the same time or
subsequently, all residues of shampoo solution
left on the surface will be removed.

Dry vacuuming
Fit the appliance with the attachment most
suited to the task to be performed, either directly
onto the handgrip or on the extension tubes.
Thanks to the wide range of attachments
available, your cleaner will effectively vacuum up:
- dust from carpets, matting, rugs, and
hard floors. use the carpet/floor brush (33)
- dust, crumbs, small debris from radiators,
drawers, cobwebs from corners: use the
crevice tool (31)
- soil, saw dust, wood shavings, etc, from
all types of floors, car interiors, garages,
cellars: use either the suction hose or the
multi-purpose nozzle (29) which can also
be used to pick up dust, crumbs, fluff, etc.
- dust from shelves, books, lampshades,
frames, ornaments, curtains, drapes,
clothes, etc.: use the round brush
attachment (32).
Plug in the appliance and switch on by
depressing the on/off switch.
Care and Maintenance
Always disconnect the appliance from the
mains before starting any maintenance
operation.
Always empty, clean and dry the wet/dry tank
after use. To ensure perfect hygiene and
lengthen the working life of your appliance,
never leave any dirt inside the tank.
To empty the wet/dry tank, remove the
components in the following order:
a) selector (9)
b) external solution tank (10)
c) solution dispenser (22)
d) flexible hose (1)
e) motor unit (6).
Empty the wet/dry tank with the help of the
inner handle (fig.23).
If this operation is too impractical, first empty the
diffuser cone by lifting it out, after having removed
the steel handle (fig.24).
To clean the inside of the tank, remove both the
lower plate and the diffuser cone, making sure
when replacing the latter to push it firmly into place
at the bottom of the tank (fig.25).
Polyurethane foam filter maintenance (35)
After using the appliance always wash the
polyurethane foam filter under running water
and allow it to dry thoroughly before
repositioning it.
Owing to their particular composition,
polyurethane foam filters deteriorate rapidly if
not washed after each use.

To f acilitate storage of the appliance, use the
method illustrated in fig. 28.
Periodically replace the microfilters located
inside the exhaust port hatches on motor unit
(fig.26).
Periodically check that the float inside the
motor unit cage is free to move in its housing
(21) by lifting motor unit and shaking it.Before
storing, place all tools and accessories inside
the dirty-water tank, while the extension tubes
may be fitted between the external tank and
the dirty-water tank. Wind the cord (checking
that it is not damaged or frayed) in its storage
groove around the motor unit and secure with
its clip (fig.27).
