• The only time the Obey 40 D-Fi 2 .4 should be configured to receive D-Fi™ is when another
system is controlling it.
• When the Obey 40 D-Fi 2.4 is configured to receive D-Fi™ it cannot transmit D-Fi™ and it
must be connected to the lights with DMX cables.
• The Obey 40 D-Fi 2.4 is configured to transmit.
• The products are D-Fi™ compatible and configured to receive.
• The Obey 40 D-Fi 2.4 and the products are all configured either to Auto-Sync, or set to the same
channel with Manu al Channel Selection.
• The Obey 40 D-Fi 2.4 is within 300 ft of the D-Fi™ lights.
• There are no large solid objects, such as walls, large pieces of concrete, or solid metal structures
between the Obey 40 D-Fi 2.4 and the lights receiving D-Fi™.

Programming Two
Products
Programming products is sending DMX values to them to cont rol the m and create a lo ok.
The general steps for programming a product are as follows:
1. Enter Program mode.
2. Press one or more <FIXTURE> buttons to select one or more products.
3. Move the channel faders to control the product or products—use <Page Select> to move
between fader pages.
4. Repeat steps 2–4 as needed for other products.
5. Save the look into a scene. See Creating A Scene.
6. Exit Program mode.
Note: If the look is not saved to a scene it will be lost when Program mode is exited.

responds to the faders .
10. Press <Page Select>. The Page B LED comes on and the Page A LED goes out. Fader Page
B is now active.
11. Move any of the first 7 faders to send DMX values to the last 7 channels of <FIXTURES 5>. The
light responds to the fade rs.
12. Repeat steps 2–11 as needed for other products.
13. Save the look into a scene. See Creating A Scene.

Programming scenes is the s ec o n d part of the programming for pl ayback. And it ca n be th e last part
because scenes can be played without being part of a chase. See Scene Playback

The Obey 40 D-Fi™ 2.4 has 30 banks with 8 sce nes e ach, so savin g a s c e n e i n vol v e s sel ec t i ng t h e
bank and the scene.
In scene playback, scenes are played back in number order, by bank. So when programming
for scene playback, make sure the changes from scene 1 to scene 2 to scene 3 make sense.

4. Press <Midi/Add> two times to save the scene into a step.

Note: Scene s are saved into steps in sequential order—the first scene s
goes into step 1, the second scene saved to the chase goes into step 2, and so on.
The specific instructions below describe creating <Chase 1> as a 3<SCENES 3> from bank 15, <SCENES 4> from bank 2, and <SCENES 8> from bank 1.
1. Enter Program mode.
2. Press <Chase 1>.
