The weight of the trailing edge arms found in the sorting guide a ssembly can ca use a n alignment fault
during staple sorting, a nd t he problem can be corre cted by providing t he measures shown herein
during servcing wor k.
<Symptom>
During staple sorting, sheets are discharged out of alignment.
<Cause>
The weight of the trailing edge arms in the sorting guide assembly can cause paper to curl downward
during delivery. I f the paper is moist, the downward curling will increase, resulting in misalignment
during staple sorting.

<Factory measure>
Remove two trailing edge arms to reduce the weight imposed on paper. (Remove the inner two of the
four arms.)
Note:
< Making Checks and Maki ng Adjustments >
1) If the delivery outlet tray is in the way, change its position.
Check the parts in stock (middle-level items), and implement measures.

2) While holding up the swing guide, remove the inner two of the four screws. At this time, take care
not to drop the screws inside the machine.
3) Of the four trailing edge arms, remove the inner two from the front of the finisher.
